Mexico trip approaching...

Hi all! So, next Friday I leave for my first ever trip outside of the country and it is Mexico, the one place that had given me anxiety because of all of the stories I hear of people getting sick there. The thing is, when a gorgeous girl that you'd had a crush on for 9 months wants you to meet her in Mexico... you say yes lol. (Yes, I've met her, she is a real person haha)

To keep me in a positive headspace about being brave there, tell me about your experiences in Mexico and let's have a little share session <3

The girl of my dreams invited me to Mexico and I said yes...

Well guys, love makes us do crazy things lol.

My crush (the most beautiful girl in the world) invited me to meet her in Mexico City in 7 weeks. Needless to say, I'm fucking terrified thanks to my emetophobia :) All I ever hear about Mexico is how the water makes people sick. I want to point out that it's pretty cool that I even said yes. That already means I am further along in my recovery than I knew or thought. But FUCK I am definitely anxious as hell. At this point, I'm thinking "Maybe I just wont eat anything for five days and then I definitely wont get sick" LOL obviously that won't happen because I love food too much but damn, it's a huge bummer to have these thoughts. All I am doing is endlessly googling to find out how people stay safe from food poisoning there, I feel sad and scared and want to tell her maybe I can't go. I feel like the phobia is definitely a huge bully right now.

Any advice is super welcome :)

Hypochondriac going to Mexico City for the first time...

I am pretty scared of getting sick which has held me back from doing cool things for many years. Well, the girl of my dreams wanted to go to Mexico City so, because I'm not insane, I said yes!

I guess I am wondering how people go about knowing what is safe to eat/drink and what isn't.

I know the obvious: don't drink the tap water, get/drink from bottles/cans

What I don't know how to be careful with is... everything else lol. Can you trust the food if it's being cooked with the water? Can I trust a cup of coffee? I really don't want to let me anxiety ruin the trip and I am working with my therapist on this. But any advice would be so so appreciated. Just some tips and tricks for a healthy trip.

Tackling some exposure (kinda)

My wife wanted a seafood boil today so that’s what we had! For context, she’s quite literally a Food Network chef lol so she knows ALL about food safety which has been truly so incredible as an emetophobe lol. Maaaybe it’s been a bit enabling but anyway!
We live in Colorado, a land locked state so it isn’t like living somewhere with super fresh seafood. She got it from Whole Foods, everything was DELICIOUS. We were slurping it all down like a mukbang hahah. My emetophobic brain is of course on edge since it was pretty triggering meal BUT I’m going to be calm, be normal as ever and be just fine :) because also, if I were to barf? I’d still say the meal was absolutely SLAMMIN.

Anyone else get nauseous due to their period?

And then have an annoying flare up of anxiety? :)

That’s me right now. My cramps are awful, I get diarrhea and now I’ve also developed nausea as a period symptom as well! These things are only in the first few days of my period thankfully but it makes it pretty agonizing anxiety wise.

Anyone else deal with this? If you do, do you have any tips/affirmations that sort of help? If you don’t, feel free to just sulk in it with me lol

Selling my 4-day passes

To fan expo :)
Hi all! Including a screenshot of my order payment but I have two 4 day passes I’d like to sell for just $200 even. My wife and I got a chance to move into a new place and we just can’t afford going to fan expo and enjoying it how we normally would plus, we need to move during that weekend :/ might be a long shot but figured I’d try. I’d do the official transfer and I’m happy to send anyone who DM’s me more info! Thank you ❤️
