Does your eye pattern relate to your season?
Just to be clear, this isn’t about eye color! It’s about patterns. I genuinely believe you can have any eye color and be any season!
I do think there’s some validity in eye patterns, and I understand why many color analysts asks their clients to send a picture of their eye when typing. That’s not to say that it’s the most important thing when it comes to color analysis, and I know that not everyone will have a pattern that is shown here. This post is mostly just for fun!
One thing I see people get confused about is flow seasons and their pattern so here’s a breakdown:
If you have multiple patterns:
Spring & autumn patterns = warm spring or warm autumn
Spring & summer patterns = light summer or light spring
Winter & spring patterns = bright spring or bright winter
Winter & autumn patterns = deep winter or deep autumn
Summer & winter patterns = cool summer or cool winter
Summer & autumn patterns = soft summer or soft autumn
What moment made you realise your season?
I think we’ve all had that moment where we tried on a particular color and was shocked by how good/harmonious it looked. For me, it was with nail polish. My sister was throwing away some of her old nail polishes and among them was this bright poppy red color. I put it on and was shocked by how clear and bright my hands and fingers looked. I used to wear lots of dark reds and some browns but they just made my hands look muddy and washed out, except I didn’t realise just how much those colors looked bad on me until I tried the bright red

What are your unpopular color analysis opinions?
Here’s mine:
- Emma Stone isn’t a bright spring
- I think eye patterns can tell a lot about which sub-season you are (not to be confused with eye color!)
- Figuring out your intensity levels is the easiest part of self-typing
- It makes more sense for bright springs to be dark haired because of the winter influence from bright winter

youtube.comBright springs! Help me understand your season
I’m starting to lean towards bright spring for myself, but I wanted to really understand from other bright springs about your sub-season. Which colors are your worst/best? What clues led you to bright spring? Which season did you think you were before getting typed? Do certain colors make you look a certain way? Do you have any tips for anyone who think they might be a bright season? Thank you
Which celebrities do you think are mistyped?
Just curious. I think Katy Perry is actually a light summer who just so happens to pull off black hair, but you can tell bright winter colors overpower her
Another one is Eva Green. Lots of people say she’s a true winter but her black hair isn’t natural either. It’s more mousey brown. I think she’s actually a true/soft summer
Which celebrities do you think are mistyped?
Please stop putting so much importance on contrast/hair colors
I really need to get this off my chest. I feel like this sub really cares too much about contrast levels and hair/eye color, and I think it’s getting many people mistyped as well as causing waaay too much misinformation
A while ago (I forgot to save the post), a woman posted herself in some drapes, and it was pretty clear that saturated cool colors looked best on her. Like you could literally SEE that the shadows on her face weren’t as bad, and her eyes sparkled. The muted raspberries and mauves were too weak against her and caused a grey/lifeless complexion. You could tell her skin had higher chroma and translucency. It was dead obvious. Everyone except ONE person typed her as a cool winter. Everyone said she was probably a summer. Why? Because her natural hair color was a medium ashy mousey brown color and her eyes were muted green. EVEN THOUGH her skin looked terrible in the summer drapes. Like…I just don’t get it? It was obvious she was in the winter season just from her skin alone, and I feel like this is the issue with color analysis
How come we make exceptions for people with dark features to be light seasons? How come we make exceptions for bright springs to have blonde, brown and red hair, but bright winters can only have jet black or deep brown hair? How come summers are allowed to have dark hair, but winters can’t have lighter hair? Do you see the problem here? I’ve especially noticed this sub can be very gate-keepy with the winter season
I mean doesn’t it make more logical sense to only pay attention to the skin? Like what if someone with dark black hair has clearer skin in light spring colors? Do you just lump them into a different season JUST because of their hair? How does that make any sense? The goal of color analysis is to find colors that match your skin’s undertone, chroma, and value. Your hair and eyes only covers a small portion of your body
In my personal opinion, your hair and eyes should only act as a small indicator of what season you could be, but it shouldn’t get you typed as a completely wrong season
I’m also going to give you some examples of why hair color is the least important thing. Both Liv Tyler and Anne Hathaway are typed as cool/true winters. On the left is their natural hair color. We can clearly see their contrast levels are medium at best. And then we can see on the right that they have dyed hair to increase those levels, but even so, they have always suited winter colors anyway because the skin never lies
What complaints do you have about color analysis in general?
For me, I’m annoyed at how there is barely any hazel/brown eyed representation for true summers. Everywhere I look online, true summers are always described as looking ‘icy’, but I don’t look icy at all? And all the celebrity examples either have green or blue eyes 😭
What’s your complaints?
