Beginner drawing/painting/digital art classes around mountain view?

I'm trying to get into drawing, painting or digital art. I learned of CSMA and Art School of SF Bay, but the classes seem expensive. Wondering if anyone had any experiences with these classes or have other recommendations? Also, I'm a 30 yr male looking to make new friends so I'm curious if there are any classes with people around my age range. Thanks!

How do bind MX Master 3s buttons without Logi Options app?

I just bought a MX Master 3s mouse for my work laptop, but learned it requires downloading the app to bind the buttons. My company doesn't allow downloading 3rd party software for those kinds of things. Are there any work-around for this? Thanks!

Hong Kong or Shanghai for New Years?

I'm planning a 2 week trip to South Korea & China in late December. I can't decide whether to spend the New Year in Shanghai or Hong Kong. I heard Shanghai doesn’t really celebrate New Years, and Hong Kong does. Is it worth it to lose one day in Shanghai to celebrate New Years in Hong Kong? I’m worried that I won’t have enough to do in Hong Kong for 3 days as a solo traveler. I also think I would enjoy Shanghai more. I don't mind losing a day in Shanghai if there's enough for me to do in Hong Kong though.

Rough itinerary (not including flight days from/to USA):

12/20 - 12/25: Seoul, South Korea (6 days)

12/26 - 12/31: Shanghai, China (6 days)

1/1 - 1/2: Hong Kong, China (2 days)

Celebrating New Years in Hong Kong would mean 5 days in Shanghai and 3 days in Hong Kong.

Other travel tips are also appreciated since this is my first time doing a multi-country trip to Asia in any of these countries. Thanks!

How cold is Seoul during Christmas week for someone from California?

I’m planning a solo 2 week trip split between Seoul and Shanghai during Christmas/New Years. I’m someone that likes to wander around and explore streets and neighborhoods when I travel. If it’s really cold then I’m not sure how much exploring I’ll do in Seoul and might just spend more time in Shanghai. I’m from the SF Bay Area so the cold isn’t that foreign to me, but I’m not going to pretend like I can tolerate cold well.

That said, how bad is the cold for someone from California? Would it affect my travel that much? Thanks!

Are multi-city flights between Asian countries normally this expensive?

I'm planning a 2-week trip between Seoul and Shanghai for Christmas & New Years. The multi-city flight prices on Google flights are around $4000! Is this normal? I've never done multiple flights before so maybe I'm not searching for flights correctly. Thank you!

[4 YoE] How do you describe working on new features/bug fixes and legacy data systems on your resume?

I work in the private industry on legacy data systems with "older" technology (LAMP). I don't do anything cloud related, exciting or "modern." I mostly writing code at the application level, adding new features in Angular or Laravel. Nothing fancy.

I'm not sure how to describe my work? Basically creating new Angular components, creating CRUD APIs and implementing business logic. It sounds unimpressive. I'm not even sure how to quantify my work since we're not for-profit.

Anyone in a similar position that knows how to describe their work?

Which city/cities to visit for 1 week as a solo traveler for the first time?

I’m planning a 2 week trip to China and South Korea this Christmas. I’m trying to decide which city or cities to visit for 1 week in China. I’m mostly into sight-seeing interesting things, exploring and soaking in city vibes and eating. Not too huge into historical stuff but open to it. I’m interested in the following places.

  • Hong Kong
  • Shanghai
  • Chengdu/Chongqing

I’ll be solo traveling so I won’t be slowed down and tend to breeze through places. That said, should I stick to just one city? I heard that you can do everything in a few days for Hong Kong and also Shanghai. Would 3 days in Hong Kong and 3 days in Shanghai be doable or should I just stick to one city? I also only know English (I look Chinese but don’t speak it so that might lead to some awkward exchanges lol) Thank you!

Solo Traveler itinerary suggestions/feedback?

I'm making a last-minute trip to Las Vegas this memorial day weekend, because life is short. I hacked together a 2.5 day itinerary and would love any feedback or suggestions. I'm mostly into site-seeing, exploring and eating. Not interested in gambling or shows, but down to explore casinos and what-not. I'll be staying at an airbnb around winchester.

Saturday

  • Morning: The Sphere
  • Noon: Grand Canyon Shoppes + Caesars Palace
  • Afternoon: Roam around the Strip (would love suggestions as where to start for this)

Sunday

  • Morning: Arte Museum
  • Noon: Bellagio Conservatory Gardens + Miracle Mile Shops
  • Afternoon: Fremont Street Experience

Monday:

  • Morning: TBD
  • Noon: TBD
  • Afternoon: Flight home

For food, I'm thinking of winging it, but I do want to try Taco El Gordo, Gyu+, With Love, Always, Lotus of Siam and Lardo. Any suggestions that are solo-diner friendly and not-too-long-of-a-line are appreciated.

Any recommendations or feedback would be appreciated as a last minute solo traveler. Thanks!

Shark’s Director of Amateur Scouting on “Best Player Available"

https://open.spotify.com/episode/21De5vu7Zfls1nWgQ2EqkK?si=018ead76e46f4502

On a podcast with Chris Morehouse (Shark's Director of Amateur Scouting), he talked about drafting best player available (29:00). Chris emphasized how the public's consensus may not be what the Shark's list is. He mentioned that BPA is still relative to the team, how you don't want to draft the same player every year, and you're still piecing together a team at the end of the day.

Grier even said that their list was different from the public's ranking last season. Hell, Grier drafted Dickinson over Buium who was the public's consensus best defenseman available. So the sharks' BPA isn't who you think it will be.

I'm pro-Stenberg and ultimately think the sharks will select him, but Reid could very well be the BPA to the sharks. Anyone saying that Reid isn’t remotely a possibility is just closed-minded and impervious to how drafting works.

Point being, unless you work for the sharks, none of you know the shark's BPA is, only the public's ranking.

Give the podcast a listen. It gives good insight on the Shark's drafting philosophy.
