Question, is the box worth saving? Had it in one vehicle for about 4-5 months the sub is also that old as well. I’m assuming the trunk had a leak since it’s only the bottom panel that has the mold I was in the process and moving it to a new vehicle and I wanted to mount the amp on top of the sub due to no place in trunk for a mount so I went to take the sub out of the box to see how thick the mdf is and this is what I found.

Good news all 4 sides are completely bone dry, no musty smell whatsoever just smells like normal mdf, no swelling or cracking or peeling, it’s only the bottom panel so I’m assuming the mold is dead and dormant, I just don’t have the funds to buy a new box or assemble one so any attempts at saving this would be the best option. I also found a tiny bit inside the port.

I checked the sub all over thank got not a spec on it but still going to super clean it.
