Stating letrozole medicated cycles

I had my consultation with my RE today, and we are moving forward with letrozole TI. I’m 30 and have lean PCOS with anovulatory cycles. We've been trying for 8 months and only had 1 positive LH out of all 8 cycles. I asked for monitored cycles, but she said she likes to start simple and wants me to do 3 cycles unmonitored with letrozole TI first before introducing ultrasound/IUI.

What is everyone's experience with unmonitored cycles? Should I push for monitored? All my labs are normal; I take inositol & metformin, and have no symptoms of PMOS besides irregular/anovulatory cycles and string-of-pearl-looking ovaries via ultrasound.

Edit: wanted to add that she wants me to come in on CD 21 of my first medicated cycle to test for progesterone! from there she will titrate how many mg will work for me. I will use opk to test LH levels until positive

Insulin resistance

I recently got my labs done and my results are:

Fasting insulin: 6.3 µIU/mL
Fasting glucose: 98
A1c: 5.4

Do I still have insulin resistance?

I started metformin and inositol on April 1st and cut dairy out of my diet. I’m focusing on a high protein, high fiber, low carb (trying) diet. I strength train 3-4 days a week and walk 10-20 mins after my meals.

My doctor never tested my fasting insulin before I started metformin. My A1c was 5.6 back in March so I think it is helping? I have lean pcos and all my other labs are normal. My cycles are still irregular and long (35-80 days) even after 5 months of meds. From April to July, I only had one cycle where I ovulated on CD 16, the rest were anovulatory.

Is there anything else I should do before asking for letrazole? I feel like I did everything I could, but my body still isn’t listening. Is it a good idea to still stay on metformin?

My gyn is not helpful and did not give any suggestions on what I should do from this point on. I have a consult scheduled to see an RE later this month

I know it’s a bad idea but…

My husband and I have been trying for the past 7 months. Recently found out I’m anovulatory and I only ovulated twice out of the 7 months. We have a fertility appointment next month to try letrozole.

Would it be a bad idea if we both took an edible this weekend on a camping trip to relax? I know weed is bad for both the egg and sperm, but TTC has taken the joy out of the both of us. It would just be a one time thing and we won’t continue after the trip is over. We’ve stayed clean for the past 7 months.

Coincidentally, all of our friends who struggled with conceiving said they were finally successful when they loosened up and drank alcohol once (for a wedding or bday party) and conceived that cycle. I was more ovulatory the previous years when I was using edibles very frequently and not actively trying. Now I’m clean and barely getting my period. I think the weed really helped me relax haha

Am I a bad person for wanting to relax just this one time? TTC has taken control over my life and I think stress is what’s causing me to be infertile

Anovulatory PCOS - feeling defeated

For those who have lean PCOS and have anovulatory cycles....does it get better? It's hard to stay positive when everything else is failing. Were you able to have kids?

I'm on my 3rd month of metformin and inositol and my body still isn't functioning right. I booked a consult with an RE to try letrozole, but that appt is 1.5 months away. I just feel so sad and broken, why can't my body just work properly? I'm tired of testing my LH everyday and never seeing a positive. It sucks that everyone else around me is getting pregnant. This is rough

Should I buy inito if I plan on seeing RE?

I plan on scheduling an appointment soon to see an RE. I’m considering letrozole as recommended by my gyn because metformin doesn’t seem to be working for me.

I’ve always wondered about inito since it tells you your fertile window 6 days in advanced. My ovulation dates are all over the place and it would be helpful to know when to BD. My hubby and i are exhausted from BD thinking my ovulation will happen any day now based off my old cycles. I test my LH twice a day and still no peak.

Should I try inito first before jumping to letrozole? Would it be helpful to have in conjunction with letrozole?

Is it possible to ovulate with low LH?

I heard it’s possible to get pregnant with low LH. I got a positive/surge last month, but this month I didn’t. My bbt temp this morning might be inaccurate bc it was so hot. I will temp again tomorrow morning to see if it stays elevated

Just feeling so defeated. My LH levels are all over the place :/

I have PCOS. Currently taking 4g inositol & 2000mg metformin

Technique poplin vs linen dress

Does anyone own both of these dresses in the maxi style? Are you the same size across both material?

I tried on a size 8 in the poplin and it fits perfectly. I recently ordered the linen in a size 10 bc I heard linen isn’t as forgiving. They didn’t have a size 10 to try on in store so it was a blind buy, given size 8 was oos. I have a larger chest and small band, 34DD.

Do both dresses stay true to size after washing?

Linen shrink?

I just got this in the mail. It fits a bit big and rolls in at the elastic back (where red arrow is pointing). I know linen tends to shrink a bit even when hand washing. Does anyone have this top and did it shrink? If it shrinks, it’ll fit perfectly.

It’s 100% linen with 100% cotton for the lining.

Ovulation date with metformin

For those that have taken metformin, did your ovulation date change from month to month? Or was it generally around the same time every cycle?

My first ovulation cycle was on CD16 last month. I’m currently on day 19, but still haven’t ovulated yet. I’m trying not to stress out and need reassurance 😩

RE or fertility clinic?

My gyn does not prescribe letrazole and told me I would have to go to a fertility clinic to get meds. However I’m hoping to use my insurance as much as I can because I heard fertility clinics are expensive and don’t accept insurance. I’m trying to get in as soon as possible. RE I feel like will have a long wait

How much were your visits at the fertility clinic for letrazole? Did you do monitored or unmonitored?

Ovulating with metformin, increased dosage and now not ovulating?

Has anyone experienced not ovulating when increasing their metformin dosage? I was originally on 1000mg, and I ovulated on CD 16 last month. I recently increased the dosage to 2000mg on June 2nd; today would be CD16, and I haven't ovulated at all yet. My LH yesterday was 0.61, which has been steadily increasing. Then all of a sudden today, my LH is low around 0.29.

I'm scared that increasing the dosage messed up my cycle. I don't want to think too negatively this fast, and hope maybe my ovulation will come in the next few days. Ugh this is so frustrating

Technique linen dress

Does this shrink? I know linen typically shrinks even when following care instructions, but wanted to know your thoughts/experience.

I’m big chested (34DD), 5’5, 147 lbs. Debating between a size 8 or 10

Does the airplush cotton line shrink?

I just got this top in a medium and it fits perfectly. Does anyone have this and have washed it? Does it shrink? Debating whether or not to size up in case it does since it’s 100% cotton

Happy and sad about AF coming

Background: lean PCOS, diagnosed in my 20's. Started TTC in January. Started metformin and inositol about 2 months ago. Was anovulatory for 3 months and finally ovulated in May.

I really thought I was pregnant this cycle. I had the twinges, the cramps, my boobs and nipples were sore/tender (I used to get this a lot in my early teen-20's, but stopped), confirmed positive OPK, LH rise to 1.1, BBT temps staying elevated the whole time post-ovulation.

AF finally came on 14DPO.

Although I'm sad I didn't get my BFP...I'm actually happy that my cycles are returning to normal. It's crazy how bad we want to be normal when we're not. Something so simple that normal people take for granted, while there's a whole community of us gals working twice as hard just to BE normal.

I feel hopeful for the next cycle. My cycles used to be 35-85 days long, and now it's 30 days! Metformin and inositol really worked for me. I also started eating healthier - eliminating dairy, processed foods, and focusing on whole foods. I go on digestive walks after meals, strength train 3-4 days a week, and never skip breakfast. I hope this helps others who might be in the same boat!

13 DPO I’m pretty sure I’m negative

I made a post earlier and there were a couple of people that said there’s a faint line. I’m pretty sure it’s stark white, but I dug through my trash for a double take. Do you guys see a line? I still don’t 😅

Positive OPK, confirmed BBT, BFN, no AF?

Background: lean PCOS since I was a teenager. started taking inositol & metformin since last week of march. positive opk (after being anovulatory for 3 months), confirmed with bbt rise

I tested on 11dpo (Clearblue, Easy@home) and 13dpo (FRER, Easy@home) and got BFN. My bbt has continued to stay above preovulation temps. AF usually comes on 12dpo, but no signs of it coming. Trying my best not to symptom spot because I know that is not good for my mental health. However, my nipples and breast are sore and they usually never are before AF.

Is it possible I didn’t ovulate this cycle? Should I wait another week? I heard HCG can rise slower for some people and they didn't get BFP until 1-2 weeks after their missed period. I feel discouraged because right when things are starting to get back on track, I've fallen off again.

Felt super hopeful this cycle but now not so much anymore :(

13 DPO losing hope

Did inositol change your pre period symptoms?

I read online that inositol can sometimes change pre period symptoms because it’s supposed to help balance your hormones. For example, I usually spot for 1–2 days before my period starts, but I haven't experienced any spotting at all this cycle. Has anyone noticed changes to their period after starting inositol, other than a shorter cycle length?
