so my original plan was to go with doctor 365 but i’ve been seeing a lot of people have problems with them recently. Is there anywhere else that does specific blood tests with no questions asked?
Anyone who’s on testosterone sustanon could you break down the cost of it monthly? Including private healthcare subscription (if you have one), needles, medication itself. because i’m very confused and see some people say different things and it’s just not adding up to me. Also what pharmacy do you get your T from? Do they take digital prescriptions?
warning this is going to be a long rant
TLDR: I got a grade 2 tear on my MPFL (along with multiple other injuries) 4 months ago and haven't started PT yet. I'm worried this means it will never heal to the potential it could have if I started sooner and I'll be out of dance forever.
so basically to preface, the public healthcare system in my country sucks. I’m a dancer and I injured my knee in dance class a couple months ago, i twisted it a bit then it completely gave out and i couldn’t bear any weight on it but i decided to give it a couple days to see if it would sort itself out before going to the hospital. it didn’t get better so i went to the hospital and they told me it’s probably a sprain and gave me crutches and a brace and told me to wear it for two weeks then give them a call if it didn’t get any better.
it didn’t end up getting better so i called them and they booked me to come back in another week but told me to stop wearing the brace and using the crutches even tho it was very difficult to walk without them. I tried not to but it hurt a lot so i ended up on and off using the crutches anyways. i went back and they said i wasn’t booked in and i ended up having to wait another week for an appointment. I finally got to see someone, now over a month after the injury and they said it’s probably a meniscus tear and once again told me to not use crutches or a brace and gave me some excersises to do, and also booked me in for an mri 6 weeks after.
during that time my knee had been slowly getting better and i had started getting back to my normal, pretty active lifestyle, (excluding the dancing) and some days it was comeplwtly fine but others it would swell a bit and hurt a lot more, and i still could squat or jog or anything like that.
i had the mri and called a week later for the results like they told me to, and not going in to detail but they were being very difficult and i ended up having to call 5 times over the course of a month and a half to finally receive the results about a week ago, it now being over 4 months after the injury and i’ve been losing my mind not being able to dance as i just got out of school and was in the process of making it my career.
The mri showed i had a grade 2 mpfl tear, grade 1 MCL tear, severe bone contusion, a pretty bad muscle tear in my thigh and a small tear in some cartilage at the back of my knee, and they told me i didn’t need surgery but to immediately start physio. now i’m not a medical professional but i feel like with injuries that bad waiting over 4 months after the injury to start physio is really gonna hinder my recovery.
i know the worst thing to do when your injured or sick is to scower the internet for the worst outcomes of other people going through the same thing but i’ve been reading a lot about the mpfl tear and pretty much everyone i’ve seen has gotten the surgery on it and the athletes specifically that haven’t said their knee has dislocated multiple times since the injury and they’ve had to quite their sports.
do you think i be able to make a full recovery? will i just end up needing surgery in the future anyways? will i ever dance again? dancing is literally my whole life and has been my dream career since i can remember so i literally can’t imagine my life without it. on top of that i was planning on going to college for performance arts, heavily focused on dancing, next year. i’m terrified that any chance i had of recovering properly has been taken away by the months of probably over working it and not going to physio.
Hey so kinda a broad question but how does one go about becoming a paramedic in ireland? cause the national ambulance service college’s website has been down for a while and i’m just kinda confused on the whole thing.
Has anyone had their top surgery (or other gender afirming surgerys) covered by insurance? If so, what company are you with? how much of a hassle was it? i know you need a gender dysphoria diagnosis most likely but was there any other things like that you needed?
I've been looking into getting top surgey recently and i've decided my two options are, the very popular, dr lago in madrid, and auralia since they'd be roughly the same price (including accomodation in spain). Obviously i'd prefer to stay in ireland for it but i havent been able to find any result pictures, or many reviews or experiences with auralia so im slightly worried; while i know dr lago has a good reputation and many positive reviews. If anyone has gotten top surgery with auralia would you mind sharing your experience? and are you happy with your results? or if you know anywhere i can find reviews and results.
I used to avoid looking at myself in mirrors and photos as much as possible but in the last year or two i’ve wanted to improve my appearance both in trying to pass better but also just trying to take care of myself better and look nicer. but still everytime i look in the mirror its like im seeing myself for the first time again. im pre t so i know i don’t look like a guy but i even can’t see myself as anything, i have no idea how i look. looking at pictures of myself is the same feeling as looking at pictures of strangers i’ve never seen before. When i picture myself in my head its a totally completely different image to what i actually look like.
when did the picture you had of yourself in your head start to align with how you actually look in real life?
Before trying to tape i didn’t know how sensitive my skin, but i’ve tried a few brand of kt tape and such and all of them have left me with horrible rashes and blisters (even when i done test patches of not stretching it at all and taking it off with great care so niether of those were the problem). has anyone who has sensitive skin or adhesive allergies found tape that work for them?
Hey, I'm planning on starting testosterone with imago hopefully soon and i know their costs don't cover the actual price of the medication, so I'm wondering what's the rough pricing of testosterone (specifically enanthate/cypionate) in different pharmacys?
I'm learning spanish and though ive mastered the grammar im looking to practice speaking and conversation more and am wondering if theres any convo practice groups in the south dublin area?
Hey, i’m a dancer who just graduated high school and is planning on making it my full time work, but i’m also planning on having top surgery within hopefully the next 3 years and im wondering how long id have to stop dancing for? i do mainly hip hop/commercial and contemporary so its very physically demanding. so if anybody else has a extremely active job or is an athlete and has top surgery, how long were you out of work for?
Does anyone know of any GPs, specifically in south dublin, that are likely to provide shared care? i have an introductory call with imago coming up and i haven’t asked my gp yet but i highly doubt they would be willing.
