These Colours Don’t Run - Arif’s Country List

Got nostalgic and started listening to ACUoS, so figured I would ask here. For twenty years I’ve been trying to figure out definitively what the list of countries Arif is screaming at the end of this song are. I thought with the vinyl we’d maybe get official lyrics, but no such luck. I’ve combed through older posts around the Internet but it doesn’t feel like there’s any consensus that I could see. Was there ever somewhere this was officially posted? What’s everyone else’s list. Here what I hear:

Peru
Japan
Russia
Italy
China
??? (Straight up no clue)
Cuba
Somalia?
Vietnam
Mexico
India
Canada? (this doesn’t really fit the theme)
Sudan
Iran
Iraq

Golden Pursuit: Sheogorath Questline Required?

Pretty much the title. But basically I like to do the storylines in release order I am extremely behind and it seems like the current Golden Pursuit requires me to do the newest Sheogorath storyline? Is this not permanent content? Is it also not an extension of the Thieves Guild stuff as well? I just don’t wanna have to go super deep into newest content that I don’t have any context or information on. (Especially since now questlines have different dialog based on what you have and haven’t done.)

New Player: Kerran BRD/DRU 6. Kinda lost/overwhelmed. Some questions.

  1. Am I supposed to just be selling… everything? Like, is there any reason to keep what I assume are Tradeskill mats? Or am I meant to just farm more of those when I’m ready?

  2. Should I give up trying to sort of wander around myself and just go follow a guide? I’ve been trying to level so I can finish this Kerra Isle quest line, but the Tigers are Level 18, so I’m so far off. I walked over into an area called “The Warrens” that didn’t have any map (even with Good’s unless I don’t understand how to install that properly) but a ton of kobolds. I got hit with some sort of Thorns spell on the way over cause everyone was at a raid NPC. The instant that wore off the mobs were taking ages.

I’ve seen tons of mentions of Befallen or Crushbone, but I’ve been resisting looking at a map so far.

  1. I’ve seen conversations about this basically being a Diablo-esque aRPG now where the “point” is basically just grind character, get Levels, get AAs, grind loot. There’s no “story” in Classic per se, so there’s no centralized glue to keep you moving in any particular direction. I assume there’s some sort of lockout for raids that I’m currently missing / already behind on.

  2. I want to progress and feel like I “get” the game, but I’m having a hard time starting off right now. Maybe I’m not fighting / grinding the right mobs or I spent too long trying to do this Kerra Isle quest. I dunno. This feels like something I should like I just can’t feel like I’m getting in the “groove” so to speak.

I have made a horrific discovery about Antiquity Leads

So, I’ve been holding on to around somewhere between 30-40 different containers in my inventory, some, I dare say since the Antiquities patch dropped. These containers had Level 10 Antiquity Leads in them and some in zones I haven’t gone to yet (I’m weird I don’t wanna go explore a zone at all until I’m “there” in the story).

I was so excited when the new update came out about the lead timer increasing. Finally! I can open one of each of these containers to get them out of my inventory. (I had previously made the mistake that you can only have 5 active scrys to try something similar.) So I opened the containers happy as can be.

Today, because of Zenithar, I thought maybe I had forgotten to open a few containers. So I click on my Alchemist’s Bag… it’s mats. Cool! I click on the next one… it’s also mats…. Oh no. I start looking at all of them. MATS. NOTHING BUT MATS. Every duplicate of the Antiquity Lead is completely gone.

On the one hand, I’m gonna get so much inventory back. On the other hand, I have been saving these for so, SO long. I thought I was clear on dupes for life.
