Hey friends!
After reading about someone doing the double tap, I decided to do it and document it.
Behold the Starbuck’s Double Blonde Espresso Double Tap.
On the left is virgin but it sat while the right one brewed. The right is pull number two from the same VL pod. This pod is from Costco and is about $1.20. Comes in a 4 pack with 3 other types. Pike Place, Verona, and single espresso all in 16 packs.
The borosilicate beakers are from Temu for around $6 (love them)
Individually, virgin pull is strong and perfect while pull 2 doesn’t have the bit or sharpness of the first espresso.
Personally, I might just combine them for a bigger serving on the go, not so much for a nice home sip.
I just Netflixed the whole show.
Maybe I have unpopular opinions but here they are...
Around season 10-11 I started to find the characters and some plotlines uninteresting, no matter how the writers tried to make them interesting.
I could barely tell the last 3-4 seasons med students and interns apart from the blood-resistant panelling. Their idiosyncrasies were written really over the top tho.
The introduction of Brennan made no sense at all. This womanizer keeps at it until Neela casts some spell on him? And while I am sympathetic to the idea of him being an SA survivor, I think the approach was a bit ham-handed. I think they were trying to create a Doug-Carol energy between Brennan and Neela but that just didn't fly. I was actually happy to see her settle with Ray in the end.
As I felt during the original airing, tying up all the strings on past characters was done well. The episodes after Michael Crichton's (by far my favorite author) death were done well despite the presence of the weak characters. Back then, I watched the show weekly with everyone else and didn't notice how weak the later characters were until binging the episodes. Perhaps it was the reappearance of the original characters in these last episodes that salvaged it for me.
Finally... Gosh a hated the John/Kam storyline. I never liked it. Maybe I crushed on him in the 90s and thought she was undeserving of him, I dunno. The medical missions he took were beyond extraordinary but whenever whe was in the script, even as a discussion, she was always back home in Paris and not working on her AIDS projects.
IMO there was nothing that could top the epides surrounding John's stabbing and the aftermath. I think the loss of his kidney was related to this, no? they didn't really discuss it enough for me in his transplant episodes. But I did like that Carol and Doug did not know John received the organ from their patient.
