I've been looking for a nice player for DVD's, Blurays and 4K's recently, and from my research i've found that picking up a pre owned xbox one S seems pretty affordable and is able to do all three. I'm currently using my PS4 Pro which i do love, but it can't play 4K's for whatever reason. Just wanted to ask if anyone else uses this and if it's a good idea as they hover around $100 AUD. Thanks!

hey everyone! at the (current) moment i’m not too interested in modding my ps4 pro, though i am well aware im on a good firmware version and have modded other consoles so i dont want to update from this version just yet in case i change my mind.
i’d like to connect my ps4 to the internet and use it somewhat normally, mainly just for plex, other streaming services, watch blurays and that’s about it. no interest in online play or using the store.
before i go ahead and connect it to the internet i wanted to ask if there’s anything i should know, like will it auto update the firmware immediately as i connect, or are certain apps unusable because im not updating, that sort of thing!
sorry if this is a noob kind of question! very new to the ps4 modding scene, but love what you guys are cooking up.

it's all said in the title. this is really annoying me.
this happens on PC as well and I have no idea why. it’s genuinely ruining my experience of the platform. any suggestions?
