Clarification and next steps?

Hello! I’ve posted a couple times previously regarding my mother and her passport. I am looking to both renew her passport for her and obtain citizenship for myself. She’d previously lost her passport which was a major issue, but she found it! Which was exciting. However, the consulate will not accept it as proof of my own citizenship as it’s dated the year after I was born. She does not have her older passports.

A summary of her history:
She was born out of wedlock to a German mother in 1959. Father is unknown.
She lived with her mother and grandmother until 1972, when they moved to the U.S. So far, her city of residence and birth cannot find an erweiterten Melderegisterauskunft for her, and told me she is not listed with her mother or grandmother.
She never naturalized.
I was born in wedlock to her and an American father in 1987.
She never renewed her German passport after 1993 and so that’s the last passport she has. She was issued it in 1988, a year after my birth.

I can prove my grandmother’s citizenship at the time of my mother’s birth and my mom’s birth certificate notes there is no father. I’ve asked the consulate if this is sufficient in place of the passport.

Assuming they say no, what are my next steps? Is it a case of Festellung or Stag 5? I want to get started right away in case it’s a hard no from them.

EDIT: I’m partially confused as previously I was told a current passport of hers would be the “best” proof, but how could that be true if the consulate specifically needs a passport from before my birth?

Diagnosis?

Can anyone tell me based on this erratic behavior what it looks like is wrong? Poisoning, disease, stress…? In your opinion of course. I’m just troubleshooting.

This colony of Camponotus was thriving until about a month ago. I was thrilled because they even had their first major. But suddenly workers slowly started dying, always acting erratically like this one first. They’ve stopped eating much - they just come up to do this and then die. They pick at crickets but no longer eat the much of it. They’ve shrunk so much I’m thinking of moving them back into a test tube as the nest is now too big and they’re huddled in a corner down below. The queen seems fine and there is brood.

Nothing changed as far as water (bottled not tap), protein source (store bought crickets) and nectar (Formica sunburst ant nectar). They have a heating cable. I had moved them briefly to a different spot in my room, so thought maybe stress? So I moved them back. I’m afraid the test tube move will stress them further.

I’m so devastated :( Any advice is appreciated!

The registry offices keep bouncing me back and forth

Hello folks -

My mom was born in Germany to an unwed German mother in 1959. She lived there until her mother married an American soldier, and she moved with them to America in 1972. She still has a green card and has never naturalized in the US. However, she has lost her German passport. She can’t find the passport from when she was a child or from when she last visited in 1992.

I’m helping her renew her German passport and obtain my citizenship at the same time. I have her birth certificate from Germany, but am struggling to obtain other German documents. Can anyone check my work and see if there’s anything else I can do?

(My grandmother is also still a German citizen and alive, but she is very very sensitive about having my mother out of wedlock and I cannot get her passport).

I emailed the Einwohnermelderamt of the city my mother last lived. She lived with her grandmother, my great grandmother, while her own mother spent a few years in the US with her new husband. The Einwohnermelderamt of her town said they do not have a citizen record of my mother and that they do not see her in her mother’s record. They advised me to email the city where she was born instead. The officials of that city at first took a long time to answer, then said they only have her birth certificate and no other documents pertaining to her.

Should I ask for records of my great grandmother, since my mother lived with her for several years before moving to the US? Would she be listed on her grandmother’s Erweiterte Melderegisterauskunft?

The Erweiterte Melderegisterauskunft is what I should be asking for right?

Any other people I should contact?

I’m frustrated because this would be so easy if my grandmother weren’t resistant to the whole thing. But my mother worries she does not have documentation currently.

Thank you!

Cheese danishes?

Gayle’s used to make a fabulous cheese danish that my father in law would get once a week. He says he hasn’t seen them in years now so I thought I’d ask, does anyone know of any other bakeries in town that do a cheese danish? Even over the hill is fine. He’s been grabbing a Starbucks one occasionally but they’re not the best of course.

Is this a slime mold of some kind?

Located in Felton, CA. Just curious, thank you! It was surrounded by poison oak so I couldn’t get terribly close but it did look hard.

Camponotus ID?

Hello! These are about the best photos I can do with my camera. I’m located in Santa Cruz, CA and I’m tempted to say Camponotus clarithorax but I’m very very new and wondering if anyone could tell for sure. Thank you!

Is this a bug?

I played three different games yesterday, for 20 minutes then more, one of them for an hour. It registered my cash out but not the playtime. Does it just take time to clear? It’s been hours now. Tracking is on for all games.

Very frustrating and there’s a time limit on this welcome offer as well so I can’t help but feel like I’m being cheated.

MU: Dark Epoch - what to purchase

Can anyone who has done this offer tell me which in-game sets or packages helped them the most? I looked through some older posts but I don’t know if the packages are the same anymore. My offer is at $900 and I don’t want to screw it up but the in game shops are overwhelming me. I don’t mind spending a bit of money if it helps in the end but I also don’t want to waste money buying frivolous stuff.

Thank you!

Disabled placard?

Has anyone had experience asking their doctor for a disabled placard for CFS? I work about 15 hours a week as a caregiver, any more than that and I crash. My caregiving involves basically sitting on standby in case my client with dementia wakes up and is confused and tries to leave the house on his own. It’s the only work I’ve found that’s lowkey enough for me to do because he’s asleep most of the time.

Well, the senior living place he lives in has eliminated caregiver parking, and told caregivers to park on the street or in visitor parking, which is only a couple hours max. The street does not have guaranteed parking and is usually full when my shift starts. There are neighborhoods nearby with street parking but I just cannot walk that far every time I work, I’d be constantly crashing.

I won’t need the placard all the time but I’m terrified I’ll have to quit and lose what little income I have unless I can park closer. Was it difficult or hard to get your doctor to fill out paperwork? I see the CFS clinic again in August. I’m just really nervous about asking because I’m afraid they’ll think I’m being ridiculous.

Thank you!
