How do you even meet girls?

So, im 29 and never dated. I didnt realize I was a lesbian until I was about 25. Before then, i thought I was straight and just didnt care about dating. Like, id tell friends that I didnt want to date and wasnt interested in meeting anyone.

So, because of this, i have no experience in dating. I didnt date in high school or in college. After college, I was never really in spaces where id meet people.

Ive always thought girls were so pretty and I wished I could just date them instead of guys. I dont know how i didnt realize sooner haha. But i honestly thought all girls thought about other girls like that. And I shoved those feelings down for a long time.

Anyway, for the last 4ish years, ive been trying to figure out how to even meet girls and talk to them. Im still not out to anyone so that makes it a little harder. The city is live in is pretty lgbt friendly, but its a smaller city so theres not really like specific places to go thats just for lesbians. Occasionally theres events, but they dont happen very often and like anyone can go. And most of the time my anxiety stops me from going anyway. Im working on that part.

Ive looked on dating apps too, but theres not many people on there. It seems like a few are bots too, and a lot of them i feel like we wouldnt work well or im just not interested in them. Maybe im being too picky? I also just dont like dating apps in general. Id rather meet someone irl, but i dont even know where to start.

Just wanna tell someone

Hey! Ive never told anyone im a lesbian, so im gonna tell you guys and just kinda get it out.

Im 29. When i was young, like 5-10 years old maybe? I used to get so upset that id have to marry a man when I got older. Id wish I could marry a girl instead. Id sit in my room and dream about marrying a girl instead.

Idk when it happened, but i started to ignore those thoughts and push them down. I got "crushes" on boys just like my friends. And just like how my family has always talked too. One of my best friends at the time was a boy and my family would tell me im gonna marry him when im older.

Skip to high school. Id talk about boys to my friends and tell them who I liked. I just picked someone I thought was cute and stuck to that. I never understood why my friends were obsessed with boys and I couldnt care less. I also questioned often what a crush actually felt like. I never picked up on the fact that id stare at girls in my classes and I couldnt stop thinking about how pretty they are lol. Id even think about kissing them. Like, I was clueless haha

Skip ahead to 2020, I started questioning who I was. And then i had this realization that I liked women. Took me long enough haha. But I thought i was bi. Then Id be worried about if I got a boyfriend and married him, I'd miss out on being with a woman. But I didnt think that way about a man if i thought about marrying a woman.

Through more thought and figuring things out, a couple years later (maybe in 2022? 2023? Around that time) I thought maybe Im just not into men. Sure, some are nice to look at. But thats kinda where it stops. Women on the other hand, omg. I couldnt stop thinking about dating a woman and how pretty women are. Kissing her, cuddling, sending cute texts, holding her hand, waking up next to her, spoiling her, the list can go on.

I never wanted to date anyone before when I thought i was straight. But now, ive never yearned so hard omg haha. But now I have zero experience. Ive never actually dated someone. And now im 29 and feel so behind and I feel like its weird? I know its fine but still...

So thats basically been my journey haha. I have no one else to tell so I thought id come here. My family isnt like against it, but theyre not exactly supportive of it? Like, theyre fine if lgbt people exist, as long as it doesnt impact them and they dont have to hear about it or deal with it. I dont have many friends, but theyre the same way. My workplace is worse. Their comments make me feel like I need to quit if they ever found out.

Anyway, thanks for reading my ramblings ✨️ I didnt think id write so much oops 😅

AITA for not driving 30 hours to pick up/drop off my nephew?

I wont be too specific, but my nephew lives with his dad and its about a 15 hour drive to get there. Then 15 hours back. Me and my older sister would go and we split it up into 4 days so its not all done at once. We would do this drive at least twice a year if not more. This started a few years ago.

So, my sister hates driving on the highway, so id drive because im comfortable driving. Id use my car and id pay for gas. To make up for it, she'd pay for the hotels.

At first I was okay with doing it to help her out. But then she started assuming I was going and just made plans, telling me "these are the days we're going". And then plans were made so i couldnt back out. The last few times, I've been very vocal about not wanting to go, but i give in when I feel forced. Also, its easier if I just agree to go instead of causing a whole problem by not going.

My mom doesnt drive, but shes willing to go. My dad is comfortable driving, but doesnt want to go either. So its between me and him to drive. And if he says he doesnt want to go, it falls on me. My mom and sister try to convince me to go saying "nephew wants you there" or "you always have so much fun". Or just like asking a bunch of times and being sad when I say no. Like they actually pout at me and just keep asking.

So this most recent time, my sister told me the days and I was adamant about not going. I stuck to it this time. So my parents went instead. But my dad complained to me before going about how much he didnt want to go. Then when they got back, he complained to me again saying how he hates traveling and doesnt want to do it again. So of course I felt bad.

Ive already been asked multiple times about doing the drive the next time. Im sticking to my no. They all make sure that I know how much of an inconvenience and a major problem it is that im not going.

So am I the asshole for saying no? And making them make other plans?

Also, flying isnt really an option. Theres no direct flights and my nephew is under the age that he can fly alone. My sister has flown to pick him up and bring him back before. But it can be really expensive. So options are limited.

Versa 4 problems with talk to text and phone calls

Im posting this for my sister. She doesnt have reddit and anything we search doesnt help.

She just got a new phone (Samsung S24) and had to reconnect her fit bit to it.

Ever since then, she hasnt been able to use the talk to text when she answers a message from her watch. It comes up with the transcription error.

Also, she can accept or decline calls from her watch, but all calls just go back to her phone after she answers the call.

Theres a bluetooth connection thats called "Versa 4 Calls" and says its connected to ger old phone but wont connect to the new one.

I've read that theres a setting "On-Wrist Calls" but i cant find it anywhere in the app.

It seems like all the permissions and notifications are allowed and nothing should be blocking these functions.

Am i missing something?
