Ferber Day 10 - baby still screaming

We are on Ferber day 10 and my baby is still screaming himself to sleep for 10-20 minutes. Putting him down drowsy but awake, he screams like he’s in pain as soon as he hits the mattress. My husband is doing the check ins since it’s extremely hard for me emotionally. Right now since it’s day 10 he’s checking in at half an hour but I got him to check at 10 minutes yesterday since I couldn’t bear it.

Hes almost 6 months old, 3-4 naps a day. They’re up and down right now anywhere from 20 min to an hour, on average 35 min - he’s a fomo baby and never has been a great napper. We do crib naps. WWS 2/2.5/2.5/2.75. Bed time routine bath, lotion, sleep sack, feed, book, bounce until drowsy.

He is a colicky baby and we have used the bouncy ball to get him to sleep at night/all naps. He was a good sleeper around month 3-4 then slowly got worse until he was waking up hourly and we would bounce him back to sleep. We used to have to vigorously bounce him but now it’s light bouncing as I’m trying to get him out of the habit

This much screaming does not seem typical after over a week of sleep training and it’s been so hard on us. Is he just too young for sleep training or not ready or maybe Ferber just isn’t for him? Not sure where to go from here.

My baby fusses with me when I put him to sleep but not my husband.

To get my five month old to sleep we bounce him on the bouncy ball. Lately he complains and fusses with me but not my husband, I think it’s because he can smell milk on me and tries to turn his head and eat my shirt and then gets mad when he can’t eat. This happens even when I’ve JUST fed him.

What am I supposed to do about this? Me getting him to sleep is a disaster but my husband can do it no problem it’s so frustrating

I keep seeing 5 months = down to 3 naps a day?!

How?? My dude can barely do five naps a day. He has the shortest naps, typically around 25 min, so with 2 hour wake windows he naps way more than 3 times. How do I drop/consolidate the naps??

How do parents with colicky babies leave the house?

I find going anywhere public very stressful because my little guy might start screaming at any moment. He’s improved since he was first born but I would say majority of the time he’s still unhappy. Makes it hard for me to want to do a mom class or go places if he’s just going to scream and I’ll just be stressed the whole time :(

Anyone who’s travelled with a three month old on a plane - tips? Also what did you use for sleep?

What did you bring for plane entertainment? We have an hour and a half long flight so pretty quick. And for sleeping, he started rolling so can no longer use his bassinet, we are now using a mini crib at home. So buy a travel crib?
