This morning, my lump was sound asleep while I was playing on my pc. Heard a sudden thump, cat now semi sitting up looking completely out of it. He starts panting, gets up very slowly, lies down a bit more, still panting. Gets downstairs very slowly, still breathing very quickly.
Anyway, one emergency vet visit later + out of hours vets bill and, there's nothing wrong with him. The vet thinks he had a sort of episode. Sounds like he's had a nightmare that's freaked him out.
He's still very quiet though, I would be too if I'd had a thermometer up my bum. Just hits home that he's an old man :(
The bear sploot post reminded me that I had this one.
Currently off with depression and have been for about 3 months now. Went back to work for about 6 weeks and had a relapse.
Just after I got signed off sick I got a letter saying I'd been suspended for leaving work early a few times, which is true but there were some other details that weren't.
I don't hate the job but it's dead-end and doesn't offer anything. How I feel right now is that I don't care if I leave/ get fired.
I'm only getting SSP as my company sick pay ran out. I'm thinking I might be better off quiting, claiming ESA until I'm ready to look for another job.
As I understand it, ESA will help you look for another job. I'm 41 with various experience but no formal qualifications (did a couple of Open Uni modules years ago). The bulk of my experience is driving but I can't stand driving these days. I desperately want to do something different, something IT related perhaps. I have a lot of experience with computers, built my own pcs etc, troubleshooting etc.
Would ESA help me get any training/ qualifications to help towards a job if I did go down that route?
Any ideas/ advice is greatly welcome.
Anyone had any experience with these? Apparently they're also known as Japanese Swamp Shrimp or Sawtooth shrimp. Can't seem to find anything about them.
This sinister little baddass....
Thought she was dead. Nope, just monching.
There's a nymph in my tank.
Tried catching it with the long tweezies but it's a quick little bugger. I've got about 100 neo skittles + babies, how much damage can it do?
I will keep trying to get it in the meantime.
I'm new to this and never in a bajillion years would I have thought shrimp would become one of my favourite animals. They're just so interesting to watch and so fun.
I've had hits and misses, no more putting them with bettas. Yeah, they can live together but the betta eventually seems to get bored and has a nibble. I've now got a 40 litre shrimp only with neos and a couple of bamboos and I can watch them for hours.
My first shrimp only 10 gallon Shrimptopia. 70 in there plus 2 bamboo badboys. Spotted a couple of eggnant ladies and some screx already happening.
Bought from http://bestaquariumshrimp.uk (except the bamboos) no DOA's, all seem happy and curious.
What's everyone's plans for this lovely Sunday? (Duridge Bay at 5am)
Got this little lady a week ago and she looked like this. Bit concerned she's bloated/ constipated but another recent post said that this is normal for females? The two other females I've got aren't like this but they're older/ bigger.

She's swimming fine, interested in her surroundings and eating fine.
Maybe snails/ caviar, Cotsworld Fried Squirrel but not tripe, brains etc. Definitely not the chilli. Been there before with stuff a fraction of what they were serving.
