Just really wanna know that I'm not alone in this.

Could really use encouraging words. I just got bumped up to the top of the list for OCD treatment through the VA. While I'm happy to start treatment so soon I feel so alone. I wish I had a friend who know's what I go through. Someone who has dozens and dozens of intrusive thoughts daily like me. Someone who when I explain won't look at me like I'm insane.💔

Found a friend. [Location Northern IL.]

She was found on my porch during a thunderstorm. I know her species only lives a couple of days and I figured if she was going to pass on, it would be in a warm house and not being completely obliterated in this horrible weather we've been having.

Here's my story I wanted to share.

Yesterday I woke up from a dream. In the dream me my partner and our child were going on a nature walk and we encountered a giant, beautiful moth-like insect. In the dream, the moth was very large, way larger than any real moth. It was still and had likely passed away. But we weren't sad about it, we just acknowledged its beauty, the circle of life, and then went on with our walk. When I woke up that morning, I took me and my kid to the kitchen to whip us up some breakfast. Then, I see her. This moth was so huge, her wingspan 6 inches, she's almost as big as my hand. She is so huge I thought a bat was hanging from the shaded part of our back porch, I found out she is an antheraea polyphemus. Moths are one of my favorite insects, they're so beautiful and I feel like butterflies often get the spotlight over them. Experiencing that dream and then seeing her has meant so much to me. I've recently been going through a truly transformative time in my life. From struggling with severe mental health issues to growing and getting better with cognitive behavioral therapy. I'm learning to accept this part of who I am. I also just turned 29. I truly feel this is the universe trying to tell me something. Trying to tell me that I'm about to change, I'm going to grow. I can't wait to see what the universe has in store for me. I take this as a sign that life is gonna be ok and that I'm going to keep getting better. I just have to keep believing in myself. 🫶🏻
