Facing today

I don’t have any good words to share; we’re putting our boy Jackson down later tonight. Jackson is our eldest and one of my first cats ever. We lost his brother almost exactly a year ago and time has taken its toll on Jackie. He’s 18, blind, has high BP, and the beginning stages of kidney disease. He taught me what loving a pet (and specifically a cat) meant and has been by our side for 11 years. He loves sushi, macaroni and cheese, and beef - all things he got to have this weekend. He’s been my best friend, my cuddle bug, my pillow, my confidant, my old stinky man and I will never ever forget him. He is leaving such a big hole in my heart and I just wanted people to know how much he’s loved and how cute he is.

Friends I’ve taken two successful flights this year and am about to take my third - but now I’m worried about the air quality

I am in Chicago and flying from ORD to Albuquerque. Our air quality is the worst it’s ever been and we’ve topped the pollution charts - it’s evident that this impacts visibility but I’m curious if it is bad enough to impact flying?

My specific concerns are visibility on the tarmac/runway and upon takeoff; I assume once we clear a specific altitude the pollution will have dissipated and radar/auto-pilot/pilots have all the visibility and information they need.
Is this something I should worry about or is this just overthinking? Any help always appreciated!

I got roasted in another /r page for saying this image used in a thumbnail is AI or at least AI enhanced

I think it’s ok to share that this was from Good Mythical More. They DID share a response that the image itself is not AI but rather a stock image that their art team used. That all being said, I personally think it may be a stock photo BUT that the photo itself was either AI or AI enhanced. I believe it is based on the lack of discernible shape of the utensils behind the far right tumblr, the warped and uneven bottom of the wine glass to the left, the awkward bending of the forks, the text on the menu, the seemingly blend of table-placemat-menu right beneath the QR code, and the texture of the napkin looking like cake.

I never thought I’d actually have to post here (cliche I know) but I’m confident this image has been touched by AI somehow and would like some opinions with folks who won’t be rude about it lol

Booked a new flight! Going on a new plane!

Hi all! A few weeks ago I asked about turbo prop planes and got myself emotionally and mentally ready for the trip which (was) to take place next weekend; we messed up our itinerary and had to cancel so we can reschedule later this summer. That all being said we booked a trip back to our home state instead and our flight there will be on an Airbus A321Neo. I don’t believe I’ve ever flown in an Airbus but everything I’ve seen and read about this plane seems actually really cool! The mood lighting and wider seats/aisle are real positive attention grabbers for me. Has anyone here flown in one before and enjoyed it? I’ve never felt excited to see a plane before lol
