First dose of citalopram last night and I feel hung over today.

Looking some words of encouragement. I was prescribed this for anxiety at 10mg. I took my first dose last night. Slept for 4 hours and woke at 1am completely wired and shakey throughout my body. I couldn't get back to sleep at all. The whole day I feel like I'm in hang over hell and I haven't drank in years. I have a pounding headache all day, I'm fatigued, and nauseous. Trying to stomach any food has been a challenge. Is this normal and will it end soon if I continue? It is completely putting me off taking my next dose.

Pains after colonoscopy/endo

Hi. Had my first colonoscopy yesterday along with an endoscopy. Dr took lots of biopsies from both ends. My question is, how long before pains go away? Eating and drinking is causing me some pains. Could this be from the biopsi areas? Or is this gas pains? It's been about 20hrs sonce the procedure.

All mine mirena crash survivors

Ladies I'm looking some reassurance. Had my coil removed in April and was one of the lucky ones to immediately fall into 'mirena crash'; a horrendous experience of extreme fatigue, panic attacks, crippling nausea. By my second period things started to ease, much less anxiety, more energy, GI issues subsiding and by period 3 I was so much closer to feeling like myself I could almost taste it. However, entering my 4th cycle, during ovulation, my anxiety showed up in morning panic attacks. Like wake me from my sleep, heart racing, sweating, impending doom, jelly legs. I'm day 4 into my new cycle, and although the anxiety is slightly less, it's still there. Please, please, please tell me this is normal and that other people have also dealt with this up and down?? I know I've read comments before where it was 6 months before they felt more normal and out of the woods, so I'm just looking that pep talk of solidarity and inspiration that this will get better? Honestly feel like I've catapulted myself into perimenopause at lightning speed (I'm 38) and I feel miserable and regretful that I ever put that thing in my body. 😫

Morning adrenaline surges

Is this perimenopause? I'm 38 and over the last 8 months I've started experiencing the most debilitating adrenaline surges from the moment I open my eyes in the mornings. It's almost always between 4-5am. My heart races, I physically feel the adrenaline run right down my body, I sweat, my legs turn to jelly and I shake. Some mornings I even need to run to the bathroom to be sick. I spend the rest of the day bervous until evening time things are nuch calmer. There has been a few pockets over the 8 months were I'm not woken by it. Has anyone else experienced this? I had a full heart work up in September last year due to daily palpitations and was told I was fine. Multiple thyroid and iron tests all normal. I'm at a loss. I should mention as well I had the mirena coil for 18minths and had it removed in April. Since then, this symptom has ramped up exponentially.

Anyone tried these to treat morning adrenaline dumps?

Hi, I'm desperate. I've had ongoing GAD for years. Tried a few other ssris and couldn't get past the initial beginning symptoms. Anyway, jump to now I've been experiencing debilitating adrenaline surges in the morning. Like the moment I open my eyes my body floods with adrenaline, heart pounds, sweating, impending doom, jelly legs and occasionally running to the bathroom to be sick. It's been awful. I spend the rest of the day nervous and completely fatigued until I final feel some sort of calm in the evening. Has anyone had experience with this type of reaction and did the meds help?? I'm completely at my wits end.

5 year old with anxiety and i don't know how to fix it

Hi so looking some advice as I don't know where I've gone wrong. My little boy was a calm baby. Settled in daycare without any separation anxiety, same in nursery and again in primary 1.

Over the years small things like noisy classrooms, or workmen drilling or loud motorbikes would immediately put him on edge. We knew early on he was a little sensitive to loud noise but it never stopped him going places or staying places without us.

This last 5 months he has really struggled being on his own in any room in the house for any period of time. We live in a small 2 up, 2 down house so if I'm in the kitchen and he's in the living room we are a maximum of 3 metres apart and he'll freak out shouting mum? Are you still there?. My child has never been left on his own anywhere, not even running late to pick him up from school.

He has never been able to sleep in his own room, so my husband (his dad) sleeps beside him every night to ensure we all get a decent sleep. I've tried all the usual methods over the years to encourage him to sleep independently since he was a year old but they all failed. He would sleep a maximum of 2 hours and then waken and come running to our room. All. Night. Long. Only one time in his whole life did he sleep 7-7 uninterrupted when he was 1 year old.

His worrying had gotten so bad that the other night when he was falling asleep, and motorbike raced down our street and he jumped up turned to his dad in complete despair saying what is that daddy. His dad reassured him and told him they were completely safe in our own house and it was just a motorbike passing by. Even with his dad right beside him he still couldn't relax.

So my question is, is this a phase at this age? Will he eventually mellow? Or should I be speaking with a psychologist about how to fix this now before it gets worse?

Post Mirena - help

I understand this might sound dramatic but has anyone had the coil removed, experienced the crash for months and NOT have their periods returned? I'm 38 years old, had the coil for 18 months and when it was removed I've been trapped in the crash ever since with only one period. I feel like I'm in the depths of perimenopause. I was wondering if any women who had the coil removed, did you all get your period back eventually? Because I'm 38 i know its not unheard if for women to start perimenopause at this age and now I'm afraid I've actually kick started it. I've had 1 day in 7 weeks were I A. Felt like myself (not anxious, nervous, emotional or nauseous) and. B. Didnt require a mid morning nap because of extreme fatigue. This whole experience has kicked me into health anxiety so I'm second guessing my body every day. Any women who can offer insight/experience would be most grateful.
