Bought this online. Never arrived. The coloring looks like the orange filter and some of the lines near the bottom are uneven widths. There's a weird halo effect around the top too, unsure if it's AI or not

Zed Prints - scam?

I kept getting ads for them online and I finally ordered something from them almost a month ago. They estimated it would arrive between 7/30 and 8/5. 8/5 comes and goes, so I reach out. They say that they custom make every order and it actually takes about a month to go from order to delivery. Fine.

The one month mark comes up in just two days. I emailed them again yesterday and said that I still haven't received anything, not even a tracking number. I said I'm considering a chargeback if they don't provide some sort of evidence.

Looking at their website, they claim to sell in the NY Historical Society and the Chicago History Museum, but I have no way of verifying this.

The images of the lamps lit up also appear to be AI generated. However, the images of the lamps without light on appear real? I could be wrong about that.

Looking for a regular Root group

Hi all. I've been recently getting really into Root.

Now, I'm not very good and I don't expect you to be either. But, I'm interested in finding a group to play semi-reguarly with. Maybe every week or every other week? I have the base game and three expansions and I'll probably pick up the last in the coming weeks.

Is anyone else interested in joining? I'm happy to have everyone at my apartment or at a public place somewhere in the city. Feel free to comment or send me a DM

Surprising results

Hi all, I got my results back yesterday. I knew I was mostly Italian and Irish, but I was surprised to see that I'm 3% Sub-Saharan African. What are the odds this is inaccurate? If unlikely, how can I figure out which part of the family this comes from/how it happened? Obviously small, but very curious!

A question about the math on this, if I'm 3% does that make one of my parents 6%? Assuming it's unlikely from both sides

[MA] Leaving my job in 3 days, currently undergoing background check for a new job

I hate my job and it's making me physically ill from the stress.

I've used 2/3rds of my sick/personal days. Would an ADP background check mark me for bad attendance if I use another 2 days and still stay under my limit from my employer?

EDIT: my current job doesn't show up on the work number, just afraid they'll call HR and bring it up. I have very little experience with these things and I'm just asking if I'm being unnecessarily anxious

Sick Days - am I being irrational?

Second year teacher here

I'm changing careers. Not only has this year been incredibly draining and demeaning, it's helped me realize this is probably not the right career for me. I have another offer lined up and they said after I accept, they'll be doing a background check and reaching out to previous employers. I don't have a great relationship with my principal and I don't think she'd say great things about me, but I'm afraid of this regardless.

We have 12 sick days, 3 personal days and 2 bereavement days. I've used 5.6 sick days, 1 personal day and 1 bereavement day. We don't get anything for unused days, especially if you're not staying in the district. I'm afraid that if I take two or three sick days this week (only a week and a half left), it'll give my admin another reason not to give me a positive recommendation.

I didn't think that prospective employers reached out to previous employers to ask about more than just employment verification, but this job did it to my previous job (even though I specifically said not to on my application)

Five rounds for entry-level...

I applied a month and a half ago and I've been through 5 rounds with 7 different people, including the company founder.

It's my first choice, but HR is making me question this. I've gotten two other offers and I tried to use them to accelerate this process, but I was told "we're unsure what a timeline looks like at this moment. We'll contact you as soon as we have an update on your application"

What the hell??

I know there's nothing y'all can do about it, but I'm so scared.

I'm very young and I've only been teaching for two years, but I know this isn't for me. I'm looking for a new job, but I'm in a very HCOL city and the job market is in shambles. I'm almost tempted to stay so that I have some kind of financial independence, but this year has been absolutely miserable and I don't want to go through this again and again until retirement.
