Uganda Orphanage Scammers
These despicable scammers are very active yet again, so going to share a message I just got. I want to name them but won't, unless a mod tells me I can.
>"I reached out to you from a Christian sub we share because sincerely I am facing the hardest time of my life and i feel like life isn't worth living anymore and sadly I am losing my faith in God so I really needed someone generous to talk to before taking my own life."
Mind you, they messaged this to someone who is currently on depression and anxiety meds and who has attempted more than once. So have some of my family and friends.
They use threats of suicide because they can't take care of their dozen orphaned siblings and haven't eaten for four days. It's beyond disgusting. Report any posts, comments, and messages that are like this.

National Donut Day!
PSA that it's National Donut Day in the US. Many places are having deals on donuts (especially if you get coffee with them)! Keep an eye out as you commute.
Have a great weekend!
[Contest] Donut Day!!
Edit: Will close on 6/7 (hehe) when the randomizer works for me.
Happy National Donut Day, US friends! Little coffee fairies love this day since donuts pair so perfectly with coffee.
Contest is US only.
Have any donut-themed item (doesn't have to be donuts specifically) $5 or less on your list. (Edit: The prize will be the donut-themed item).
Tell me your favorite donut. Include HAPPY DONUT DAY in your comment for the randomizer.
There will be one or two winners. Contest will end on 6/6/26. Late morning or early afternoon MST.
Cabbage? Fennel? Celery?
I love how much fresh food my local food pantry has. I know that's a major luxury. I'm new to using some of it though, at least in these quantities.
Cabbage as big as my head. I've really only had it with smoked sausage. Going to make some wraps. What else?
I've never used fennel at all before.
I have two giant stalks of celery. I really only know ants on a log for it. Could see what I have for soups? Not sure.
I'm only cooking for me.
How to get out of a rut?
I know how essential Bible reading/study and prayer are and see how my days are offtrack when I don't. I typically enjoy that quiet time. I'm finding myself in a bit of a rut with it though, making it hard to get started many days. And it feels more like just checking off a box when I do.
How do you "mix up" your prayer and Bible reading time when this happens? Making it "new" again without losing the essential focus, of course.
Edit: I could ask AI myself if I wanted to. I'm asking humans, so please don't use AI to comment.

Favorite mother(s) in the Bible? Why?
I know Mary is typically our first thought, obviously, but other than her? Any mothers in the Bible we tend to overlook?
I figured this would be good to consider Mother's Day weekend (in the US).
Welcome to May! Hope it brings you all flowery vibes.
Any goals for the month? We'd love to cheer you on!
Mixture of cheap meals, cheap snacks, and cleaning supplies.
Anything helps. Have a great week.
