Wedding dress corset fit - help!

So I just finished making the first official mockup of my wedding dress corset. I attacked the straps and tried it on. Now, I didn’t lace it up exactly the way I plan to on my wedding day, the skirts aren’t attached, and I could have laced it a bit looser. However, the first thing I noticed is that my armpit fat sticks out, and the front edge of the corset is also hurting my armpit area. I had it on for a total of five minutes. I don’t want to be uncomfortable when I’ll be wearing this for 9+ hours on my wedding day.

The wedding is on August 8th so if I need to re-cut and reassemble the corset, it needs to happen soon. Any tips on the fit? Will it fit better once the skirt is attached and sleeves added on? I used my own pattern from a previous corset I made that fit decently well.

Outdoor reception folks: please give me all of your wisdom!

Fiancé and I are getting married in our own yard on August 8th. We’re coming up on our crunch time and I need to start really ordering items we’re going to need.

We live on a farm and have a pretty massive yard, so we’re using large tents for our reception. But there are a number of things I’m concerned about for the reception.

  1. Bugs! Our yard is a very healthy ecosystem with tons of bugs, birds and wildlife. But I don’t want guests to be complaining about bugs during the reception. I believe the tent has walls that can come down, but obviously that won’t keep at the bugs away. What can I do to minimize flying pests? Are there items I can buy to place on tables to help with bugs? Or is this just something we’ll have to deal with?

  2. Water on tables - how did you manage this? We do have a caterer for dinner and desert but no waiters. We will have a couple of bartenders. So should I assign water to them? Should we get large pitchers and pre-fill them for tables beforehand? Should I have a large water pitcher at the bar people can refill at?

Any other tips for outdoor receptions! I have been teaching full-time until this weekend, but with summer break looming I am gearing up to finish the details of our planning, and I want this to be a success.

Is it really a big deal to have a private ceremony and reception afterwards?

So, my fiancé and I are getting married on August 8th. We’re expecting about 60 people to come, we invited 72. However, since my fiancé wanted to elope and he isn’t a big people person, we compromised and are having a private ceremony. We are only inviting immediate family and a few of my friends who are involved in the wedding (emcee, my hairdresser who is also a high school best friend, and my other high school best friend and her parents.)

However, my uncle (by marriage, but who I am closer with than the other aunt and uncles on my mothers side of the family - him and my aunt are essentially stand-in parents for my sisters and I since our parents are dead, but we also aren’t super close emotionally) just sent me a big long text message about how the private ceremony is a bad idea and will cause a rift at the wedding/offend some people. For a bit more context, the wedding is on our farm where we live, so it’s a bit of a drive on a gravel road but most of the people coming are used to driving on gravel and have been to our house previously.

However, we have already sent out invitations that are tailored to the ceremony vs. Reception, and I also think it’s our wedding so we can do what we prefer.

Is having a private ceremony really that big of a snub? He’s also nearly 80 so I think his idea of what a wedding is is probably a bit outdated.

Used the calculator, got 32G, bought some Understance bras and they are not very comfortable. Where do I go from here?

I took my measurements accurately, several times, and ordered some bras from Understance. Like the title says, they were initially comfortable but after a few hours they feel much too tight and begin to hurt to wear. I find they are also too wide set for me, as the outside edges of the cups rub against my armpit area and begin to hurt.

So, how do I fix this? Is a 32 band too small? Are there bra companies for narrower set boobs? Feeling so lost and discouraged on my bra journey right now.
