too strict for first graders?

it’s my daughters third week of 1st grade. week 1, the teacher stopped teaching and made the entire class write an apology letter to teacher for taking too long to flip to a certain page. my daughter said she did nothing wrong & questioned why she had to write one. teacher confirmed she was listening and did nothing wrong.

week 2, teacher said she’d take everyone’s recess away for not listening/not behaving for sub. made the kids walk/run laps at beginning of recess for 3 days. again, daughter said she did nothing wrong, doesn’t know why she has to participate.

week 3, another day of laps at recess.

the behavior chart sent home everyday confirms my child is not acting up. parent teacher conferences are coming up & i plan to address it… but only if i’m not wrong for being concerned here. i don’t want teacher to feel as though i’m coming at her, i just don’t think what she’s doing is working for *my* child. for what it’s worth, she was a 3rd grade teacher before moving to 1st.

is this appropriate action or am i being overprotective?

semi casual? outfit help

per bride - semi casual, no burgundy, no blue, no light blue jeans, no dark blue jeans.

i’m kind of at a loss at what the fuck to wear. i’m not very girly and don’t have a good fashion sense as is. are black jeans, a fancy top & heels okay?

if it helps, it’s a tiny ceremony, at an airbnb (ceremony & reception held here) & she said she’d be switching into a sweat suit immediately after for the reception.

$250 per person. with people i don’t know. in this economy.

so the wedding will be a monday, they’re telling people to come in on sunday & leave wednesday. $250 covers the air bnb, food, and drink for the entire stay. you pay the $250 regardless of when you come or leave. the air bnb is also the venue and reception. they’re requesting no gifts, but rather a contribution to their honey moon.

i know the bride, the groom and the bride’s parents. me and my partner would have to stay on an air mattress in a room with other guests occupying the bunk beds.

did i mention i’m suppose to be the “maid of honor?” i use the term loosely because upon telling me she was engaged and getting married, they could only afford a small wedding and would only be inviting immediate family. then it changed to they could afford to invite a few friends, but only his friends. then they suddenly could afford to invite me and my partner (they uninvited one of his couple friends). that’s when i got the “will you be my bridesmaid” gift.

oh, also, there’s a dress code. semi-casual but no burgundy, no white, no light or dark blue jeans.

*editing to add, there’s about 5 others bedrooms with single queen beds, none of which are reserved for me.
