Outdoor cat crying

Hello everyone,

This orange cat has been coming to eat at our house occasionally for over a year or two. He seems to be a senior. He always looks sad.

Today, he was crying in front of our door wanting to come inside. On my block, we have a group of feral cats. He’s a stray and not a feral cat. I have two cats at home so I can’t bring him in.

Do I take him to the vet? To the shelter to see if he’s chipped? Is it recommended to take him off the streets if he’s lived outside for so long?

I’m 24, US, vet accessible but can’t afford full treatments on a stray.

Bad periods

Hello everyone!

I understand that pmdd symptoms are relieved by the onset of a period. But do you feel the same if you’re someone with painful periods? My mood doesn’t suddenly improve as my period starts because it’s pain and suffering for 5 days.

I suspect I have pmdd. I have feelings of anxiety, depression, and recently onset rage before my period. When my period starts, I’m in pain, sensitive, and just tired. It takes me time to feel normal again.

I will see a professional about this soon, but does anyone else feel this? Could it still be pmdd? TIA

Hello everyone,

I have an opportunity to decide which position I would like to take at a cosmetic chemistry company.

One position is an account manager where I’d be selling for this company. The other is an 8-5 lab position. The sales position has the potential to be making more money, but it is basically an on call job with a lot of meetings, calls, and significant travel and business trips. It starts off at an okay salary while you train, with the potential to make more the longer you work. The lab position is rather underpaid with no upward mobility.

I never thought to go into a sales role, but it includes familiarity with and development of products, and I would love to be involved in the cosmetics industry. However the job is demanding.

Any thoughts from people in chemical sales? Or cosmetic lab?

Hello everyone,

My cat (almost 14yo) was treated for parasites about a month ago. Later her stool was tested and giardia infection was found. The vet prescribed Panacure to take for 5 days, stop for 10-14, then another 5 days to finish.

On the 5th day of the first round, my cat was throwing up non stop for hours. The next day she looked fine. I called the vet and they said it has no side effects and to continue with the 5th dose but I got scared.

I started the medication again after a month, planning to restart. Day after 3rd dose, she looked like she was in pain. Grimacing and wouldn't lay down. I did not give her another dose because she did not feel good. This was the first and only time I've seen her visibly in pain for a few hours.

I'm planning to take her to the vet sometime soon. I think it was either her stomach hurting or her teeth (first vet said they looked fine, second vet said she needed a cleaning and that her gums were bleeding then) ;( She is brachycephalic as a scottish straight, maybe it could be respiratory? Would she be able to handle a dental cleaning at 14? She's also been drinking water frequently. Idk if this is concerning because she always drank, but I'd like to get her bloodwork done even though I think they did last time but probably not a full panel.

TLDR: Cat gets sick after a few days of administering Panacure. Cat threw up after 4th dose of the first round. Second round, cat was visibly in pain and grimacing yesterday day after 3rd dose.

Thank you!
