How flexible are you during pregnancy?

Currently 8 weeks pregnant, 3rd pregnancy.

I am no stranger to stretching, especially post strength training. Pancake splits have become my fav. I do however struggle with it in the last few weeks, some days being very stretchy, some I can't really move my pelvis much towards the floor: I get this stiffness around the pelvic area and so I interpret it as my body saying " well gal, not today"

Is this a different level of hormones? They do differ day to day. Or maybe any other ideas as to why I feel such a difference right now?

Just to add: pre pregnancy I would easily distinguish between flexibility pre, during and post period with period being my most flexible phase.

Genetic testing recommendations

Hello

Currently pregnant again after a successful IVF pregnancy. This one, while planned, is a surprise since conceiving naturally proved to be too difficult for us. I am 38 and our fertilised eggs were harvested when I was 36 so i am concerned about my age and the quality of my eggs. Is NIPT test the one I should be looking to book?

I am still conflicted about doing it because what will I do when I receive the news I wasn't hoping for. We haven't done it with IVF pregnancy precisely because this gray area but for whatever reason this time around I am much more anxious.

Lifting during pregnancy

Just found out I am pregnant with our second, bit sooner than planned but oh well. I have been lifting since Jan this year and progressively overloading. Taking protein powder (plus of course natural protein sources), creatine, plenty of water, generally in good form. Lifting has been an absolute pleasure for me, I gained back my confidence post pregnancy, energy to look after my toddler etc. don't want to give it up. If you kept lifting during your pregnancy how did you safely proceed with it? How did you fight 1st trimester fatigue? How difficult was it to get back to it PP? Were there any movements you specifically avoided? And the last one: did you continue with creatine at all? Thank you all for taking your time and going through my extensive list of questions 😂

How to properly paint fresh garden door?

We got a brand new garden door and I would like to paint it the same colour as our front door. Doors are completely bare wood. I have applied wood stain on it already after some research (don't hate pls...chatgpt) but online I am seeing some people recommending only varnish and then paint itself.

Should I go wood stain + varnish + paint or should I skip varnish all together? Recommendation for durable good quality wood paint also very much welcome!

How to make shoulder mounts pretty

Gals and Queens and Pole Princesses. Currently in need of advice on how to make shoulder mounts stronger and prettier. As you can see I am still using loads of momentum to get there so this also must go. Once up there I am sliding a lot and my feet must almost always help me to stay up before I can straddle. What can I do to make this better? I am absolutely not afraid of weight training so any ideas of gym workouts are very much welcome.

Lost your stake for dinner ? Heres the culprit

I would like to apologise to whomever found himself suddenly without a stake in the Saggart area yesterday afternoon. I found this asshole munching on what looked like a very good quality, juicy piece of medium rare steak.

He is very well fed and very well looked after in his home and I can assure you he was not punished in any way because I have clearly failed at properly training him.

I sincerely apologise that you have found yourself without your dinner. As you can see he very much enjoyed it.

Sanity check: this is blackcurrant right?

A very surprising find in the well established garden of a house we moved into in Jan this year. Well hidden bush so I only noticed those little fruits a few days ago 🤦🏻

Is there anywhere around Dublin where I can take my son to see an actual tractor?

Hes absolutely obsessed (18 months old) we spotted a few diggers working on bulls island a few weeks ago and I had to stand there with him for 30 min watching guys at work before he got bored. If you were one of those guys being watched pls know that I wasn't looking for a new daddy for my son ;)

Floating shelf on insulated wall?

I am going to start by saying I am completely new to DIY stuff. Eager to learn but never done anything more complex than assembling IKEA furniture.

We have quite an awkward master bedroom layout with this bit of alcove in pic 1 where our bed is. To save space we were thinking about floating shelves instead of bedside tables. Not much would go there other than phone,, book, glasses, clip on the bedside lamp. Does it make sense to drill in an internally insulated wall? Would insulation be compromised in any way?

What's happening to my grass?

Got my garden done up mid April. Brand new grass. I was told to water or for a few weeks each evening for it to settle so I did. It grew nicely but then wet weather came so I couldn't cut it for a while. Grass was long at that point . First cut 2 weeks ago, right at the start of the heatwave and this started happening. Some patches have gone yellow, dry and grass is now missing in a few spots. Any ideas what caused it? How can I salvage it?

I think I inherited a burning bush from previous house owners?

In either case theres something different about ruby / red foliage on the garden blending with other colours. Loving the vibe.

4 days ago I stopped breastfeeding. LO is 16 months and I thought I was ready, I still think I am ready to move on. However since Sunday I am having the biggest emotional rollercoaster of my whole adult existence. I stopped sleeping completely, something is keeping me awake at night and I can't pinpoint what exactly. Doesn't feel like stress at all (I used to suffer from anxiety years ago, which led to months long insomnia. This does not feel like that at all somehow)

Mentally and physically I feel like dog shit. I can't bother to do things around me. Taking my son to crèche these days is an absolute max physical activity i can muster.

I am crying every day, which I expected I guess but what shocks me the most is the complete lack of any energy. I am weight lifting 3 x / week, pole dancing and doing PP physio daily due to horrendous pelvic imbalance PP but since stopping breastfeeding I cant ABSOLUTELY CAN'T find any energy to even go for a walk. It feels like a full blown depression.

Is this really normal? Google tells me yes but I need to hear it from others. My head is not in a right spot at present.

LO is absolutely perfect. The only change is waking up at night and wanting cuddles but since I am not sleeping i am more than happy to provide any amount of cuddles he wants.

And now I am crying again.

I wouldn't mind some mix of bulbs and flowery shrubs but currently blank on ideas 💡💡💡

u/lluluclucy — 4 months ago

I started weightlifting 3 months ago. Love it! Generally fit, healthy, energy levels OKish. LO is 16 months. I stopped breastfeeding 4 days ago. My son only really got his beloved boob once in 24 hour cycle: usually in the morning, before crèche.

I was ready. I believed I was anyways. But since Sunday night I can't really sleep. I am not stressed, or at least I can't really say there's something that stresses me out. Since I am not sleeping I don't have much energy at all. To be honest I feel like someone drove over me with a truck, a few times back and forth. I am rather sad (tears every day) and emotionally spent but that is to be expected I guess? My boobs are enormous. I feel like i am carrying two bricks on my chest right now.

These last few days I feel like my body is not mine anymore. I know it was time to stop but I can't seem to master any energy in me right now.

Does anybody here experience the same when ending breastfeeding? I hate, HATE feeling this way.
