In defense of the alternate uniform

Let me start by agreeing with a lot of the points people make. I think that traditional color schemes and colors look great. I don't like corporate buzzwords used to describe everything. Some alternates also just infuse symbolism into everything when it really doesn't mean anything. Symbolism is good, but you have to have an overarching theme and stick to it, not take random elements of your city and slap them together. And for the love of god, please don't make your pants and socks the same color on football uniforms.

I also understand the argument that these are created for no other reason than to sell more jerseys and hats and a hodgepodge of other merchandise. Sports are becoming increasingly monetized and this is a part of that trend.

All of that being said, I love the alternate uniform, and I think it's silly to say that one team should wear one set until the end of time. The derogatory shorthand you create is still used even when you talk about it in a positive way. "It's BFBS but I like it." Just say you like it! Maybe rate a uniform based on how it looks instead of what trend it's chasing. Those may not always be inseparable, sure, but tradition doesn't have to get in the way of a good uniform all the time.

City Connects, City Editions, Rivalries and whatnot may be formed out of the idea of how to squeeze more money out of merchandise, but to simply call them a cash grab and move on devalues them. Some are bad, yes, some are just lazy, but there are also genuinely good uniforms in the package. I just feel like they deserve more respect.

I also like the Nickel City jersey. I don't have a good reason for why I like it, but I do. So maybe my opinion is worth the face value of said coin. In other words, nothing. Just wanted to put my opinion out there.

How to get better at playcalling?

I've been playing football games off and on since 2019, but I've never really understood how to strategize with plays. I usually just take the coach suggestions that "look right to me" or push a random button and that doesn't really sit right with me. I want to get better. Any tips?
