We put some pavers under the bird feeder so that the seeds that drop don't get moldy by sitting on wet ground. Apparently, this opossum was going about its business until it smelled/saw the new pavers and then "nope'd" right out of there. Later, a different opossum (no dark at the base of its tail) came by and had no problem with them.
The high school across the street plowed a huge furrow in the field. These Canada geese were super confused (all 120+ of them) and stood there for the longest time until one brave soul flew just over it instead of continuing to clear ground, then had to walk over rubble. You have wings, guys!!
I scatter mealworms every other day and now it's become party night. They also find a few sunflower pieces from the bird feeder that they crows didn't get.
Facebook peeps are saying my poison ivy is NOT poison ivy but rather ginseng, kudzu, or box elder. 😳😄😳

Just finished a 21-year span temperature blanket crocheted over the past few months (the first version got damaged and I had to start all over again). Each strip is one year. Each 6-stitch row in each strip is one day. Colors are max temperature for each day. We lived in 4 different US states. This commemorates our married years so far. Red heart yarn, mostly single crochet except parts of the border. 4.0mm hook, yarn under/yarn under. 🧶 Some mistakes were made, but I love how it turned out.
Pattern: Each day is one row: Single crochet (US), 6 stitches, chain 1, turn. Change colors as required by the maximum temperature for each day. After all 364 rows, the border in black is sc on the sides and dc on both ends of each strip. Stitch year strips together in black yarn with an embroidery needle. I don’t include leap days. I then did a border around the entire blanket: 2 rows sc, one row (green) dc, one row (yellow) sc.
Today I watched one sit on a branch after eating, then it leaned its head really far back. Next thing I see is the rest of its body following until it was hanging upside down from the branch. It spread its wings wide, holding that position for a couple of seconds, like some crazy tufted bat, then flapped back upright before flying to get more seed. East TN in my backyard woods. What was it doing?
THIS is why mistakes are made in medical care! Absolutely unacceptable!
