Who here actually expects spcx to be up by the end of the week?

With so many shares coming available for sale tomorrow, I imagine if few actually sell, it'll put a lot of faith back into this stock.. People worried about it are selling today or earlier, right? We're expecting downward pressure, but if that doesn't happen, doesn't it mean upward pressure? It'll be as if all those spacex employees and investors just bought back in.

A man went walks a store and asked the manager if he could sell "smart pills" in front of the store.

A man walks into a store and asked the manager if he could sell "smart pills" in front of the store.

The manager says "I don't mind".

So the guy goes out front and puts up a sign, "Smart Pills: $1 each".

Curious, the manager walks out and says, "I'll try one of those smart pills"

He hands the man a dollar and gets a small brown round pill. He immediately puts the pill in his mouth.

Gagging and spitting, the manager spits it out.

"This tastes like rabbit crap"

The man replies: "See there, you're getting smarter already."

Edit: Typo

How many old school spacex fans (who also invest) secretly hope for some kind of "falcon 9 grounding" to happen, just to allow you to invest more at a cheaper price?

Poem I wrote for America's 250th

America, the beautiful.

You've forever held a sacred place in the hearts of worn and weary masses who long for liberty. When no place named America was on the map, you had long existed in the dreams of those who had never tasted freedom. Tyrants and dictators trembled at the idea that you would someday appear. Still, the bound and oppressed toiled in the fields throughout history, searching for you.

Just as the harvest of man sat ripe for another season of oppression and suffering, the collective souls of a generation clearly sensed your soon coming. From distant beaches and faraway lands, they sailed, leaving their plows in the field and abandoning their homes in hopes of meeting you.

When they arrived at the land bearing your name, the weary pilgrims found no respite. The winters were cold, the land unforgiving, and the comforts and pleasures of home were a world away. They had voyaged across an ocean and reveled in finding you, but the seas had not yet cleansed humanity's soul. The roots of oppression ran deep; many could not bear that you were for all. The distant tyrants could not bear you at all.

Your enemies' sails filled the harbor, their troops assembled at the city gates, but Liberty’s children stood firm in defense of you. Through seven long years of blood and death, they fought for you. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled, they found your enemies among their brethren. Brother fought brother in defense of you. The echo of war has not yet faded; still we defend you.

You've taught us so much, yet there is much more we have not begun to comprehend. We stray from your ways, yet your guiding light still shines, and your arms remain open.

We thank the God of creation for the blessings He has bestowed upon you. May you always remain a beacon of hope and a reflection of the freedom that God desires for us all. May your children ever honor God, love one another, and always seek peace.

A moratorium on data centers is short-sighted.

Norman needs to stop picking winners and losers from city council bench, or even from the people directly. The city needs to figure out a way to express our desires in more general terms -- we're smart enough to do that. We can set energy rules, pollution standards, water usage limits, farmland protections, and many other things without banning businesses from Norman.

I've lived here all my life, and, in the past 20-30 years, we've done nothing but label certain businesses as demons.. and cozy up to others as we give them our money and crazy incentives. I realize we have to compete, so I'm not sure I have a 100% idea on how to eliminate all incentives.. or even if it'd be possible with the way the world and state works.. but I know this much: I do hope we can stop labeling individuals, businesses, and industries BY NAME as angels or demons. We can spell out what we want and what we don't want without doing that.

We need high paying jobs here in Norman, and we need to provide pathways for new businesses to come and participate in our economy freely.. while protecting all that we want to protect (natural resources, city "feel", morality-- whatever we want, so long as we can spell it out).

I hope our city doesn't start putting moratoriums on specific business types.. be it widget makers, data centers, or smelting plants. We're smart enough to figure out what we want and don't want while allowing businesses to adapt to our requirements.

Ward 1 city councilman used his announcement time during the last city council meeting to campaign for a specific guy running for office in cleveland county.

Should we be allowing this sort of thing?

Living in Norman Ok has its perks. Still high, but lower than most.
