Chrome 150 removed Ad Privacy settings

My Chrome updated automatically today to 150.0.7871.47, and I noticed that the Ad Privacy settings area (formerly at chrome://settings/adPrivacy) seems to be completely gone.

I can't find anything about this in the release notes or on any news sites. Does anyone have any info on this?

Forgot password == let's mail a letter 1000 miles by truck, sounds about right for Verizon

I use a password manager so I definitely didn't "forget" my password, but for some reason VZ was not accepting it. So I clicked the forgot password link, and the only recovery option offered was "By US mail to the account billing address"... are you f--g kidding me?? I just can't anymore with this company... what f**king century are we in?

IPv6 on NGPON2

QUESTION

Starting another thread about this, since previous ones (listed at the bottom of this post) are dead, and there is still no official or even semi-official statement from Verizon on it.

Question 1: "Is the new NGPON2 aka multi-gig hardware and headend infrastructure capable of supporting IPv6?"

if answer == "yes" then

  • Question 2: "When is it getting rolled out?"

elseif answer == "no" then

  • Question 2: "are you f**king kidding me?"

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Official iOS app

I must have missed the announcement, but just randomly noticed that there's an official iOS app from Proxmox available on the App Store! Am I the only person who didn't know this existed?

Proxmox VE Companion
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/proxmox-ve-companion/id6748314140

When did this come out? It's pretty basic visually, but was quick to add my 3 nodes (only had to add the first cluster node- the rest auto populated) and it has quite a few details, graphs, supports noVNC/console/spice, log viewing, etc. Happy to have this!

U5G + eSIM - lock to specific carrier?

Got my U5G working with a Roamless eSIM. It's LTE only (no 5G) apparently. I'm ok with that.

I find that every time I reboot the U5G, it locks on to a different carrier. Usually AT&T, but sometimes Verizon, sometimes T-Mobile.

I wouldn't care much, because it's just for backup. But when I tested the speeds, they are dramatically different:

  • Verizon: 3 Mbps × 1Mbps ⚠️
  • AT&T: 14 Mbps × 3 Mbps
  • T-mobile: 54 Mbps × 12 Mbps

Naturally, I want it to always pick T-mobile. Is there any way to tell the device to preference T-mobile?

I found this article on Roamless' site about how to do this for a phone, but there aren't any similar settings I can find in the U5G.

NXDOMAIN for DNS queries, constant polling from RM4Pro to 1011v2tcp.broadlink.com.cn 1011v2main.broadlink.com.cn 1011v2backup .broadlink.com.cn

While troubleshooting a connection problem with my RM4Pro, I was doing some packet tracing with tcpdump. I noticed a constant stream of failed DNS queries to the 3 domains below:

1011v2tcp.broadlink.com.cn
1011v2main.broadlink.com.cn
1011v2backup.broadlink.com.cn

All of these domains have an SOA pointing to an Alibaba DNS resolver vip3.alidns.com. Trying to resolve the broadlink.com.cn root itself returns a CNAMEbroadlink.com.cn.w.kunlunle.com which I'm not sure what to do with.

I assume that due to this, the device will no longer receive firmware updates and may lose other functionality. Is anyone else experiencing this? I run my own local authoritative DNS resolver and have the ability to override these hosts and point them at a new IP address if there is one that should be resolving.

Need new IP address (DHCP)

I have residential Fios (2G) and the standard dynamic DHCP IP. It rarely changes (maybe every 2-3 months).

But, the current IP I have been assigned must have been abused because I'm getting CAPTCHAd like crazy by Cloudflare, Google, and lots of other sites where I never did before. It's making general internet use very tedious.

I want to release and renew my IP, but nothing I've tried is working:

  • pressing the "DHCP release", "relinquish lease" and "renew" buttons in my router's UI (I use my own pfSense router, not Verizon's)
  • spoof MAC address on router WAN port
  • power cycle ONT
  • power cycle router
  • shut down both ONT and router, wait an hour, power back up

Anyone got any tips for getting a new IP ?

I'd like to earn a few % on the cash parked in my Schwab account, and SGOV seems like one of the more popular ways.

I'm new to things like SGOV, SNSXX etc so, sorry for these dumb questions... I just don't understand quite "how" to use it:

  • Do I need to wait until the first of the month to "buy" SGOV? And, do I need to sell it at the end of the month?
  • Is there any penalty for selling "early" if the cash is needed?
  • Can the cash from a sale of SGOV shares be used to purchase something else the same day, or does it need to clear overnight first?

SGOV chart that confuses me
