Heya. Not gonna waste your time with too many details, but last night a guy I met a couple weeks ago and I pretty much admitted our crushes to each other over messages. He said I was cute, I said the same about him, among other things. We were very affectionate in general. All of this is great, but he didn't really ask me to be his girlfriend, and I feel like I need that kind of confirmation before I move further. So, that puts me in the awkward position of wanting him to ask me out and trying to communicate that. He did say at one point "I hope I'm not being too forward," which is ironic considering "forward" is exactly what I want/need.

Is there a way I can say I want him to ask me out, without just asking him out myself? I'm willing to bite that bullet if that's what it takes, it's just not my preference. I don't have a lot of experience with this.

I was going through a breakup last year, when a friend said he loved me. He only meant it as friends, but I started to develop feelings. A couple months later, he invites me to a discord server with him and a few of his friends. There I learned that he pretty much says that to everyone. My feelings didn't go away. Eventually I told him that I had developed feelings for him, but I knew he didn't feel the same way. He said he didn't know, calling himself dense.

He kept talking. He said "I'm sure you've noticed my relationship with (girl he's friends with) has gotten more flirtatious." I hadn't. He seemed to "love" her the same way he loved me and the others. He asked me if it bothers me the way he was talking about her. I was too stunned to answer honestly. Shortly after, maybe even before, they started dating.

I'm still friends with him. I'm still friends with her. I don't have the same feelings for him anymore, but it makes my stomach turn when they're loving on each other and I have to see it. He was right, he is dense. No friend has ever said "I love you" to me like those two do, without having any romantic intention.

It's insulting. It's not love, and it shouldn't be likened to it. It's toxic positivity. He has not once shown any remorse for how he fucked with my feelings. He acts like it never happened. I don't have many friends, and he is otherwise a good one. I don't think he has or will tell her, which I guess I can thank him for.

I guess I'll get over it eventually.

I'm hoping to find my forever home, a place where I can have a group of friends I can always come back to when I'm feeling FFXIV-ey. I don't really do savage or ultimates, but I would be willing to learn as long as the atmosphere is chill. I'll be real with you: I don't play FFXIV all the time but that's part of why I'm looking for a good group. I play other games, too, but I want to have more reasons to come back to FFXIV since I've been such a fan of it for so long. I am an ARR vet, Reaper has been my main since Endwalker and I don't intend on changing mains soon. I want to have all combat jobs leveled someday but do not currently.

I am available most times of the day, with Lunch and Dinner times being busy. I am in NA in the CST timezone, but am flexible to EST and PST. I am more of a casual player. I am timid, but once I am comfortable I will come out my shell with my weird sense of humor and all that.

Currently I am on Mateus in the Crystal data center. I am open to moving servers once I know you a little bit, which shouldn't prevent us from playing together, given there is world visit. I might not answer right away, as I am mot subbed to the game right this second and I'm gonna change my character's name when I am, but those details will be updated in an edit of this post.

Two games I come back pretty regularly are Final Fantasy XIV and Elden Ring, but I play many single and multiplayer games! Some other single player favorites are Cyberpunk 2077, Dishonored 2, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! I have history playing Destiny 2 and WoW, but those are both "maybes" in terms of coming back any time soon.

As you can probably tell, I am a big fan of storytelling and good art direction in games. I am rarely there only for a challenge, but when I get into a game I tend to at least try it at the high and hardcore levels, rarely staying there. I am mostly a timid and quieter person, but when I get comfortable I tend to come out of my shell more. Other interests include music (Hayley Williams and Silverstein are my go-tos), movies and tv and occasional reading. I used to do some creative writing, but not anymore. I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi as well as more grounded artistic expression.

I'm available most of the day in the US CST time zone. I stay up til roughly midnight every night, and I typically don't talk during lunch and dinner, but those are only an hour or so each. The best times would be shortly after those meals.

As I am trans, I would gladly join any LGBT+ friendly groups that align with my personality/preferences. I am mostly just looking for a group of friends to hang out with. We don't have to game together, though it would of course be nice to! I prefer a chill atmosphere with 1-3 friends to big groups, but if I sound right just lemme know and we can talk it out! Planning on pulling Sunday as I am very close to guarantee, and I will have a lot left over for M.Blade so I'm going for him, too. I would like to put them in an Acheron team, as Ashveil doesn't interest me at the moment. With this setup, who does Sunday focus on? And who would make a good sustain? I missed DHPT so I'm thinking Huohuo?
