Sopmod or SBA3? Based on looks not legality.
SBR'd so either works. 11.5" what do you think looks better as a whole? The Sopmod is approx .5" longer but width is identicle. Slop/play negligable between them.

UID/cage tag from Carolina Laser Works. Cuz why not, it goes with the M4A1
Now I just gotta make sure the FRT 💦
I wanted to build something loosely inspired by the URG-I for my bump in the night/ truck gun, and this is where I ended up. Originally I was running it on a M&P Sport 1 lower but it didnt support the fun switch. Very happy with the fit and finish.

Still waiting on buffer spring and takedown pins. Got my disruptor FRT installed with their ambi 3 pos selector. Cannot wait to go brrraaaaappp 💦 Thats my whole reason for wanting the M4A1 lower I wanted to be able to flip my selector to auto.
I wanted to let anyone who was in the same position as I was looking for lower receivers with the intent of running an FRT/SS that the PSA M4A1 stripped lower (part # 4272019) that shipped July/Aug of '26 are infact low shelf. (generally considered the highest low shelf) I took the best photos I can- you can see there is more space under the takedown pin of the PSA than the S&W aswell as the measurements from top of shelf to top deck of receiver.
Are the m4 and m16 "prop of us gov" lowers machined with a low shelf (full profile trigger pocket) to accept FRT/FRS? I went over old threads on here and it appears danny said "all psa stealth lowers are machined with a high shelf" but then under that were multiple comments of people saying they own stealth lowers and confirm low shelfs and propper function of FRT... has there been no official clarification yet of which lower receivers can run a super safety without modification? I'd like to not gamble on it if possible...
11.5" 5.56 PSA upper on M&P Sport 1 lower
Radian Raptor LT charging handle • S&W BCG • Magpul FDE Moe grip (k2 on order), Pmag, Hand stop, polymer dust cover, Type 1 rail covers, extended mag release, and Mbus gen 3 backup sights. • SB Tactical SBA3 brace w/ Wisemen Co. split fix • Sig Romeo 5 gen 2 red dot • Surefake scout mini w/ daniel defense mlok mount
Decided to try the Amazon special SBA3. I had a hard time paying $100 for a piece of molded plastic when a 1:1 clone is available for 1/3 of the price... funnily enough the fake one is actually a closer FDE match to magpul, the rubber is stiffer, and the tolerancearound the buffer tube is tighter with little to no rattle. Pleasantly surprised. I actually prefer it to the SBA5z
4th of July sale: 11.5" 5.56 Lightweight Hex mlok Upper w/o BCG or charging handle for $189. Used my M&P sport 1 lower, BCG, and handle and we're halfway there. Waiting on a bunch of fde goodies. Magpul hand stop and Type 1 rail covers. Red dot is just a place holder its a cheap osprey global.
Because they're hand made, it did require a minimal ammount of sanding/polish to sit flush in the cutout. I could have just stuck it on top of the H but it wouldnt have looked as nice. Real carbon fiber is neat it rings like a coin if you flick it.
I cancelled my Glockstore pre-order last week because my mags still hadnt shipped. Ordered these from Mag Shack the same day and had them in hand 5 days later. Jesus christ what a hassle, should have listened to everyone that said just wait because sure as shit as soon as they released they showed up on brownells and cabellas ect and people had them in hand days later. O well live and learn.
Shes ugly but she'll run. First time welding anything in my life, but it doesnt leak and its solid. Probably saved myself $200 in labor. So odd that they make pre-fab muffler deletes for so many cars but ours... but you can find test pipes all day. Anyway, it sounds mean I dig it.
Just sharing my not so ghetto repair. Bottom mounts snapped off when removing the bolts somehow, I wasnt there my Dad did it. This is what I came up with as opposed to gluing, epoxying, or plastic welding the bosses back on. I'm pretty sure they would have just broke off when you put a wrench on them anyway. I trimmed off the broken shit, ground down the remaining gussets, and made these steel brackets from cardboard templates. Today she went back together, fits like factory 😂
So when I bought my car the folding part of the rear seat area had been removed by previous owner. I've been lookin for the part for a while but havent seen it available for less than $200. I picked up the trim/bolt covers for each side of the hinge from the junkyard but passed on the bulkhead cover (thats what the manual calls it) at that price... long story short I found a guy willing to trade his for a set of dealer option Enkei wheels I had. You have no idea what a pain in the ass it is to be missing that part of the interior. Anything I would put in the hatch ended up in the back seat by the end of the drive, including the cargo liner. I'm overjoyed to finally have my interior back to stock.
