I have a 3.3 diesel that we use daily only on short trips - 6km total to and from. Should i be concerned that it will wear the engine prematurely?

I recently installed an AFE Takeda intake without considering that I MUST GET A TUNE. Is it really necessary or can I go on without it?

My local tuner says I need a custom tune and a cobb accessport.
