Is supplementing Akkermansia muciniphila risky?

There are other studies suggesting that a specific ratio of Bifido to Akkermansia https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11912405/ is associated with Multiple Sclerosis.

This study: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8132291/ indicates that MS patients often have elevated Akkermansia.

I took a bio/vis diagnostics panel and my results showed both low Akkermansia and Bifido [I am a fut2 non secretor so the low Bifido is unsurprising].

I'm interested in Pendulum Akkermansia probiotic but now I'm leaning towards assisting the bacterium / prebiotics that support Akkermansia rather than supplementing Akkermansia directly.

I had a paid intro session with a new therapist. I'm not ready to commit yet, I think I need a few weeks to make a decision but she is pressuring me to continue next week. I'd prefer to wait a few weeks or is that inappropriate?

Also, I'm having dental surgery next week too. It's just not a good time to start yet.

How can I communicate this? I have connected with other therapists and they did not pressure me into a follow up, they have given me space to decide.

Should I say, I need more time to decide.

Or should I say, I have dental surgery and can't commit yet

I am neurodivergent and find these interactions to be not straight forward so I appreciate the help here

Cool and wet summer in the UK and I have a cold. All my ADHD / depression symptoms are gone. Why!?

Obviously we all know the morning after drinking gives us clarity

But also, why does having a cold help?

I used to take stimulants and SSRIs to help with my neurodivergence but I stopped because they are harsh on the body.

Having a cold [sniffles, headache] makes me normal and productive. What the hell

What is the change that made your life improve?

Was it something internal?

A radical change in mindset? Spirituality?

Or was it something external like starting a business? Or perhaps, cutting people off and committing to being a hermit?

Anyone return to work in their late 30s after having 3 or 4 year out? Or, start a business / re-invent themselves from scratch?

I'd love to hear if anyone here has reinvented themselves, against all odds. I genuinely think we do have something to offer the world but the world is punishing to our predisposition. AuDHD is over represented amongst unicorn roles [actors / musician] but that accounts for 0.0001%. The reality is we must create our niche but the fog is thick and unrelenting, how to navigate?

There is no avoiding, I have to interact with the world and make money, or at least, I have to grow in some way? I think my biggest issue is probably my inability to be consistent, I can be a top performer but I always unravel at some stage and need lots of downtime.

When covid happened, it was a blessing in disguise but heralded the start of my isolation years. I had separate ADHD and Autism diagnosis in this time. I loved it when the world was quiet but I felt scared I was living on borrowed time because my partner supported me, she works corporate. Our relationship is strained due the imbalance.

38M now, physically fit and looking healthy but I am not nearly as sharp as I used to be, my lightening fast cognition in my 20s came from raw FEAR. Cortisol is a great motivator but unsustainable!

In my late 20s I attended an Ivy league college and worked in broadcast at some of the largest global networks. It was thrilling but obviously I struggled so much with life in general... living in a share house was traumatising, developed an autoimmune condition due to the stress and of course, insomnia. Even during the best times, I wanted to disappear [I had chronic SI since childhood from growing up ND in a working class community, got SA'd...]

Recommendations for large-ish red light panel [IR and NIR]?

Hi everyone

I am a red light therapy convert! I am looking to spend £500 to £1500 [USD 675 to USD 2000]. I'd like to be able to do my yoga routine at home in front of a panel. I have a tiny panel at the moment and I'm ready for an upgrade

Thanks
