My country is competitive in everything. parents always ask other parents so is your children in university? is he/she married? when are they having children? things like that. they see life as a race. like you need to check all these boxes to win.
even at work there are always bootlickers who want to reach the top at any cost.
Personally I just like to build things and I don't care about this stuff, and I was like this since I remember.

there are multiple proverbs/poems to say it in Persian, this is one of them from the great Ferdowsi:
دو صد گفته چون نیم کردار نیست.
Do sad gofteh chon nim kerdar nist.
it translates to:
Two hundred words are worth less than half an action.
How common is it for people to get naked in gym locker rooms in your country?
I've never seen or heard of anyone doing that in Iran.

It's Tahdig for Iranians, and there's always limited amount of it at the bottom of the pot.
Tahdig is the crispy bottom of the pot it could be made of rice, bread, pasta, potato, ...

What time do people usually eat dinner where you live?
I think it's 8pm to 10pm for most Iranians and I don't like it, it's better to have dinner sooner than that but it's what most of us are used to.
What spices could be found in almost every house in your country?
The main ones in Iran are turmeric, sumac, saffron, cinnamon, cardamom. Iranian food is not spicy in general, only in southern region.
dried roses for chai and some desserts.
golpar (persian hogweed?) for pickled vegetables and fava beans.
black and red pepper are mostly used in southern region and fast food like Bandari, Felafel, Pizza, ... around the country.
How important bread is in your country?
Iran is not in this list I found a website called foodexiran which claims Iranians consume 160kg per year, which puts us at #2.
I couldn't find any global sources to confirm this claim, but it seems about right.

What's this called in your language? is it used in any food in your country?
This is Sunchokes, Sib Zamini Torshi (pickle potato) in Persian
as the name suggests, some use it in Torshi which is Iranian style pickled vegetables. I've never seen someone use this inside an actual dish here.
What do you think about this? Do people in your country call this region middle east too?
I've seen this vide multiple times on social media, after the war Iran's tv hosts call the region we're in "west asia" (it's like they've been ordered to do that) and it's one of very few things I agree with them on. why are we still calling it the middle east?

What's a food you wish you ate more often, but it's just too much work to make?
Mine is Albaloo Polo, cherry rice specifically with chicken. it's like Zereshk Polo (barberry rice) but takes even more time to make.
and I like to make it without added sugar (unlike almost every restaurant in Iran) so I can't order it from anywhere.

There was a young guy from Yasooj who attempted suicide after his father didn't agree to sell his sheep to send him to South Korea so he could ask Han Hye-jin (Soseono from the tv serries Jumong) to marry him.
Jumong was really big in Iran around 17-18 years ago.
I just watched a video of her on Instagram watching her husband (a football player for South Korea's national team) and the video reminded me of this story.
