Lets say if Penny Blood actually gets released and it does well, do you think they will buy the Shadow Hearts IP?

I desperately want it to be true but seeing how they can't even get a publisher for Penny Blood I'm super upset. Is there a reason why its not getting it? Is it due to its potential to bring in high profit or not?

I'm happy that more people are discovering the Shadow Hearts series

I'm curious to everyone else's experience: How & when did you find out about this series?

As for me who have always played ps2 console during the ps2 era (2000s) I never knew about it despite loving jrpgs. I actually knew about it like 10 years ago when I was in uni, looking up hidden gems since i was playing the ps2 emulator (since my ps2 is busted, i know its illegal but i cant find other way to play & i'm not that rich to purchase the vintage copies). Somehow i'm glad i knew abt it later as an adult since the game isnt for kids lol.

My thoughts about it is that i have nvr come across something as unique as Shadow Hearts. You would either get a horror genre game or a fantasy jrpg but they are rarely mixed together. Not to mention the dark & crude humor (which would be offensive nowadays) are just bizarre and i like it lol. Also the fact its set up in the real world + with its own fictional twist makes it feel more grounded & weird at the same time. I'm probably one of those that prefers the first game. Dont get me wrong SH2 is more polished as a game but it kinda lost its unique atmosphere & flavor. But as a jrpg its still a very well made game, SH1's voice acting was just bad & the graphics feel like its made for ps1 which makes sense considering the time it came out but the backgrounds are gorgeously drawn. Despite all that SH1 has a special place in my heart & I have yet to find something like it.

I haven't got the chance to play the 3rd one nor Koudelka so i have no say abt it.

For anyone who knew about it ever since its being released, is it true it didnt get attention due to releasing closely with FFX & due to poor marketing?

I always felt like IR is the definition of being in love with each other but in the wrong universe

It does seem that way to me eventhough its not spelled out we know the quiet longing they have for each other. They ultimately understand they have different priorities in their respective world.

Do you agree with the IH's argument 'at least it's one-sided unlike IR it has no sides at all'?

This argument is hilarious to me because first they admit its one sided but imo if IR gets canon no one would have an issue with it except ichihime shippers (i doubt renruki fans rly care). Am i the only one who thinks IR is way beyond friendship and more like a soulmate kind of thing due to what they share? Its easy to dismiss their interactions as platonic since they are the not canon ones. Ichigo doesn't even act the same way between Rukia and his school friends. On top of that Rukia directly understands his past unlike Orihime who learnt it from Tatsuki.

Are all Harmonixers meant to put a their own souls at risk & struggle with their own sanity?

So does this mean every Harmonixer in existence somehow faces the same issues Yuri had in maintaining his sanity or his graveyard nightmare we experienced is only a representation of his past trauma that's his alone? I honestly find this concept interesting & how it integrates into the story & gameplay. Like we know his father probably overcomes it from assumption since its not really shown.

You know a ship is that powerful that the author himself writes almost nonexistent scenes between them in the final arc

Honestly I don't want to hate the author as a person but I hate that he's even doing this as a spite to us. You want us to believe their bond is suddenly unimportant and they barely talk in the final arc so that the underwritten ships can shine? And the tybw anime only scene added them bickering as if that's what they only are. Honestly i'm sure he has to be doing this on purpose to minimize the damage regarding the ships in the Bleach community. Because apparently seeing them just interacting ticks everyone off.

If the canon couples are actually given the same or more care than what IchiRuki got I don't think there would be a huge backlash

While it's true no series will have 100% fans that are okay with the endgame ships, in the case of Naruto for example afaik the finale reception wasn't pretty (like it's literal hell). As a new IchiRuki fan I was told that a huge mass of fans actually left the fandom altogether though I don't know how true it is. I can't share my opinion on the scale of the backlash since I read the manga knowing the endgame ships but apparently from reaction videos to the final chapter of the manga a lot of ppl were unhappy about it (not just shipping). Also the fact they are THAT surprised Ichigo ended up with Orihime.

It seems like the majority of the fandom seems accepting of canon nowadays because that's just how the pattern is when it comes to canon ships in a series. Its not necessarily because its well written but maybe because they just went along with it, indifferent or half of them don't even care about romance. But the moment its criticized the diehard shippers are super defensive about it it's really funny.

I mean i doubt ppl think NaruHina is well written but even with the inconsistent & soft retcon in The Last movie they ate that shit up anyway. So I will not be surprised if Bleach ended up adapting the ooc novel WDKALY.

Anyone who ships/shipped Uryu x Orihime here?

They don't have many moments together but I find their dynamic pretty cute. I love how protective & observant he is and how he's flustered due to Orihime's teasing. There's probably more scenes of them that I forgot.

Unrelated but if i criticise ichihime on its own ppl rly need to bring up ichiruki to compare i dont get it lol

Its rly annoying sometimes bcoz that wasn't even your intention. It's always 'why do you like ichigo ending up with someone who beats him?'. Like ichiruki has a lot of emotional scenes of them not beating each other up (its a comedic gag that's common back then geez) that even orihime herself is conscious about but no one wants to talk abt that.

Do you guys just hate how onion smells like or its because you guys literally can't swallow it even if you want to try eating it?

Because for me I will automatically do the puking gesture when I accidentally eaten it due to the strong taste & smell, idk why. Maybe I'm sensitive to it? Is there a name for this condition lmao? I actually tried to eat it so I don't be a picky eater but i just cant.

I was formerly an Ichihime who got into the manga 2-3 yrs ago, knowing who Ichigo ended up with

So yeah you're probably wondering why I'm here & tbh initially I was surrounded mostly by ichihimes so that maybe had a hand to influence my thoughts about the ships. At first I was like why ichirukis are like this and like that because I was constantly told how toxic they are (some of em yeah but slandering the entire fandom is retarded tho). Then after I finished the manga for a while and pondered I feel like those moments were exaggerated by the fans to be romantic. I knew ichigo would eventually stay in human world and rukia will return to SS so i wasn't surprised they didn't end up together. Its not that they cant work as a couple btw its just the circumstances they are in and kubo's choice. I'm more surprised he ended up with anyone at all. I wasnt there when the final chapter release, but may ik if many ppl were surprised he ended up with orihime? Because imo i dont think it feels earned.

Its wild to think that Aria of Sorrow happened in one night

I'm suddenly nostalgic remembering the game, the atmosphere, ost, I love everything abt it. And I just realized it happened in a single night, when Soma & Mina was actually trying to have a solar eclipse date lmao (eventho ik they would deny its a date). Its honestly a wild experience for both of them especially Soma obviously. And the bat at the intro is actually Alucard too!

I just realised ichigo married his mom and orihime married her brother in some sense

Hold on, its interesting bcoz throughout the series ichigo has trauma abt his mom (extra protective towards orihime like he couldnt do for his mom) and orihime with her brother (how she deals with ichigo's masked form and always have to watch him get hurt to protect her), its always shown as a parallel which is kinda bizarre but psychologically makes sense i guess.

They actually trauma bond through that. Now whether its weird or not that could be depending on how ppl see it tbh. I find it interesting bcoz no one rly pointed it out before.

It makes sense why ichigo marries her tbh bcoz she gives off that nurturing maternal side for him that he lacks, like a mom giving unconditional emotional labor for her son (which is evident in the series since ichigo nvr did that to orihime whatsoever).
