I used 3D one hybrid with a medium cut pad, went over it with a single pass, then used Gyeon Evo Pure 3yr on them. Also, what other restorative services should I add into my business? (I'm doing trim, pillars, water spots, 1&2 step, ceramic, etc..)
Example:
Me *putting shoes on*
Her: where are you going?
Me: Down the street to get coffee.
Her: Why now, it's already 3pm?
Me: because I want coffee.
Her: Where are you getting it from?
Me: The store.
Her: why not make it at home?
Me: cause I prefer the one at the store
*Shoes on trying to leave now*
Her: What if you want another coffee later?
Me: what?
Her: why are you drinking coffee so late in the day?
Me: I already said that.
Her: It may be cheaper at the other store.
Me: I'm not worried about the price, I'm leaving now.
Her: When will you be back?
Me: I don't know 10 minutes.
Her: isn't the store 15 minutes away.
Me: No, it'll be shorter since I'm driving
Her: But then why did you get your shoes on?
Me: Cause I'm going outside, duh.
Her: Why don't you just make it at home?
Me: AHHHHHHHHHH MENTAL BREAKDOWN ahhhahhh AHHHH *FLYS OUT THE ROOF HEADFIRST
I have a hard time imagining what this job is actually like day to day. Rather than making assumptions, I'd rather hear from people who actually do it.
My questions:
How do you deal with the downtime? Are you allowed to listen to music or podcasts, or do you mostly just think to yourself while you're working?
What does a normal day look like? Do you have regular breaks and lunch like most jobs, or is the schedule different because someone always has to be out directing traffic?
Do you only hold the sign? Or is that just one responsibility? I'm guessing most people also help with setup, cleanup, traffic control, moving equipment, etc., but I honestly don't know.
What do you enjoy about the job? Is it the pay, the crew, the simplicity, being outdoors, or something else?
What do people misunderstand the most about your job?
(I'm in California)
"why are you wearing that shirt, it looks too small, what if people think you're poor cause you can't afford bigger shirts. Or they'll think you're getting fat"
"What if at my cousin's birthday party, they think you're abandoning them cause you have to go to work by 7pm? They probably won't understand you get scheduled night shift hours"
"Don't turn the TV up too loud, the neighbors might hear you and think you're trying to drown out their baby crying. They'll think you hate them and their child"
"You shouldn't buy a $25 hat cause the cashier might think you waste your money on stupid stuff and aren't financially responsible."
Btw I literally don't give a fuck what people think, I'm not that self conscious like most people, I don't get my feelings hurt over words or people giving me looks.
Hey guys, I run a mobile detailing business in California and I’m trying to figure out how to get more consistent inbound leads at about 10/mo right now.
I feel like I’ve done a lot of the “right” things already:
The issue is I’m just not getting enough volume. Some days are dead, some days I get a couple leads, but nothing consistent enough to stay fully booked.
I’m curious what it actually looks like for those of you who are consistently booked out.
A few questions:
Thank you Fellow Mobile Detailers for any advice or insight!
Them "come on get ready we have to leave soon"
Me "I'm literally getting my shoes on by the door, you're watching me do it!"
