Where do I use each of these caps

These came in an optislick road shift cable set from shimano. I know they go at the ends of each section of cable but why are there 2 with the extra thin piece of plastic and one slightly longer one?

On a separate note, the housing in that package is way too short for both the front and rear shifters.

When I use this chain checker do I apply pressure here with my finger or not?

Without applying pressure the checker fits through the chain and with pressure it is still ok

Is the Domane AL 4 disc a heavy bike compared to other aluminium bikes?

My Domane AL 4 disc is the only road bike I've ever had and really haven't tried any other. I really liked it and never thought too much about its weight. I know its aluminium and it would be heavier than a carbon bike but I've never had opportunity to handle any other bike until recently.

My friend has a Cannondale CAAD with rim brakes and I lifted it to load it into my car because we were driving to an event. I was very surprised, the different in weight was significant. My bike is a 62cm and my friends is in the middle of Cannondale's size range.

So id the aluminium Domane really heavy or is it just that mine is so big? I replaced the wheels with a CF set and got a narrower handlebar but it still felt a lot heavier than my friends.

I got a pedal body replacement for my favero assioma pedals and although the new body seems to read power correctly, the pedal sounds pretty dry when it spins (I hear a crunching sound compared to the other pedal that is silent)

I used lithium grease of the spray kind on the spindle (the instructions said use lithium grease and I only had that) but I am wondering if I should've used something thicker. Would it be ok to use Park Tool PPL-1 grease? Thanks

So, we are considering the possibility of getting a bigger washer and dryer (stacked) our current one is a compact and want a standard one. There is enough space in the laundry are to fit a bigger appliance, but the drain pan is very small.

The issue we have is that the pan is connected to the drain, and, in order to replace it it has to be removed, the pipe has to be shortened to accommodate a bigger pan and then the new pan has to be installed.

Appliance stores don't want to do this work because it involves plumbing and the really just connect the new washer. Would a plumber be able to move the current washer, upgrade the pan, and then put it in place again in preparation for a bigger washer and dryer or who would I have to call? I don't want to move the appliance by myself and risk it falling on top of me.

Thanks !
