I'm finally close to releasing my single party member JRPG on steam! Light Source

Hey there! I'm the creator of Light Source, a 2d hand drawn JRPG that is focused on single party combat and deep lore based on exploration and secret finding.

The game features a customization mechanic where you can mix and match "trinkets" that give specific bonuses or new abilities to your light bulb. Coupled with the weapon system that offers meaningful changes in playstyle, there are tens if not hundreads of combinations that you can build.

Something not so much JRPGish is the leveling system which is borrowed from Souls Like games. You don't level up automatically but use the light you have gathered to increase one specific stat that you think will benefit you the most.

There are plenty of characters to meet, bosses to fight and endings to unlock. All packaged in a nice neat 6.99$ package which is also regionally priced so depending on your currency you may buy it for cheaper!

Demo is out on steam and it will also be showcased in Steams October Next Fest. Thanks for checking it out!

My game Light Source just hit 100 Wishlists on steam and I'm elated!

I know it's not a big deal, but I can't believe I hit 100 wishlists! Amazing feeling!

Finally released my demo for my game Light Source

I've been working for a while on getting my demo cut and prepared to release on steam. I think I actually did things the wrong way, first made my game and then made the Demo so it was pretty easy cutting a slice from the game and having it be in itself a complete representation of it.

The whole process took around 2-3 weeks, with some unfortunate life events in the middle but what can ya do! If you check it out, lemme know if you liked it or if it had any game breaking bugs etc.

I made a silly little video about the lamps in my game

I'm trying to drum up some attention on social media and I'm having a lot of fun just playing around with the short form videos.

[Light Source] rpg has a Steam page!

Hey all! Big JRPG and RPG fan in general! I finally finished my passion project which I've been working on for the past 6 months! It's currently up on steam and coming soon!

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4989280/Light_Source/

https://preview.redd.it/s74vpqf678fh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=f7c74ae3a02f42f2b6b32153bce96cb6a129c37d

Features:

Turn based system: Given the limitations of RPG Maker, I have tried to custimize the combat so it's as simple and intuitive as possible, without losing the depth that makes an rpg great!

Trinket system: Rather than conventional armors, find and equip trinkets that give you different abilities and effects!

Manual leveling: Use the exp you have accumulated to level up Bulb just the way you like! Make him a strong mage or a warrior, or even an unkillable tank! The choice is yours!

Hidden lore and interesting backstory: The story is there to be found and unlocked. Some stuff is implied here and there, but those who are truly interested in unlocking the secrets of Lumeria will have to look even further and face foes that others might shy from.

Hand drawn: Everything has been drawn by yours truly. Explore my (amateurishly) drawn world and find silly and devilish designs!

I'd love it if you could check it out and throw me some constructive criticism!

My game is finally on Steam! Light Source!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to take a moment and rejoice in the fact that my game is finally published on steam! It's release date is still 3 months away but the game is finished and I'm just polishing everything and adding some extra content here and there. It's been an interesting 6 months and this is the first full title I have released using rpg maker mv so I'm still learning a lot of new stuff!

Here's the link for anyone interested in checking it out : https://store.steampowered.com/app/4989280/Light_Source/

The game is gameplay driven with story that is "opt-in" kind of like dark souls. If you wanna learn more you can explore/talk and read about it but if you're more interested in fighting mobs and Bosses then you can skip all the talk and head straightfirst into battle.

I hope that everyone gets to feel this way someday about their own passion project! Keep making games guys and girls!
