First solo trip to Nepal (7 days) – Budget, itinerary, and travel tips?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 19-year-old male planning my first solo trip to Nepal from Delhi, probably around September or October, and I'd love some advice from people who have already been there.

My main destination is Pokhara, but I also want to visit a few other beautiful places if they're worth it. I'm looking for peaceful places with great mountain views, nature, short hikes, local culture, and good food. I'm not interested in partying.

A few questions:

- What would be a realistic budget for 7 days (excluding flights, or including them if you're coming from Delhi)?

- Is Pokhara worth spending 3–4 days in?

- Which other places should I visit? (Kathmandu, Bandipur, Chitwan, Ghandruk, Nagarkot, or anywhere else?)

- What's the cheapest way to travel between places?

- Are buses comfortable, or should I take domestic flights?

- Any hidden gems or less-crowded places you'd recommend?

- Is Nepal safe for a 19-year-old solo male traveler?

- Any scams, safety tips, or things first-time visitors should know?

- Is September/October a good time to visit?

- How much should I budget for food, accommodation, transport, and activities?

I'm a budget traveler, so I'm happy staying in hostels, guesthouses, or homestays if they're clean and safe.

I'd really appreciate itinerary suggestions or any tips from your own experience. Thanks!

First solo trip in July - Himachal or Uttarakhand? Need some advice.

Hey everyone,

I'm a college student from Delhi and I'm finally planning my first solo trip this July. I've never traveled like this before, so I'm both excited and a little nervous.

My budget is around ₹8,000 for 6 days, and that has to cover travel, stay, food, and local transport. I'll be using buses and shared cabs since I don't have my own vehicle.I'm also interested in trying hitchhiking for short distances if it's considered safe in the area, so I'd love to hear your experiences or advice about that too.

I'm looking for a place in Himachal or Uttarakhand that's peaceful, surrounded by nature, and not packed with tourists. I enjoy trekking, waterfalls, viewpoints, forests, rivers, and just spending time in the mountains. I don't need nightlife or luxury hotels—simple homestays or hostels are completely fine.

Since it's my first solo trip, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

- Which place would you choose in July?

- Is ₹8k a realistic budget?

- Any routes or itineraries you'd recommend?

- What are some mistakes first-time solo travelers usually make?

- Anything I should pack or be careful about during the monsoon?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!

The economy is collapsing and some people are still expanding the squad.

I’ve noticed something, the poorer the people are, the more kids they somehow have. 😭

Like bro… your own life is already running on hard mode, so why keep spawning new characters every 2 years?

Just use protection man, what’s gonna happen? 😭

No money, constant stress, responsibilities everywhere… and still adding more kids.

What’s something almost everyone pretends to enjoy?

I’ll start-- probably social media 24/7. A lot of people look entertained, but most of the time it’s just endless scrolling out of boredom, habit, or avoiding real life.

What’s something you think people pretend to enjoy just because everyone else does?

the sun needs to calm down, we’re already cooked 😭

This heat is honestly insane 😭 I went outside for a few minutes and instantly started regretting my life choices. The sun feels aggressive, the wind is hot, and even the fan feels useless at this point ☀️🥵 How are you all dealing with this weather? 💀

How many people here actually know how to swim?

Like properly swim not just survive in water for 10 seconds 😭 I’m curious because a lot of people around me either never learned or are scared of deep water. I’m thinking about learning. When did you learn, and how long did it take you to get comfortable?
