I don’t understand why this new “spark only” ghost store has nothing buy 25-30+ mile offers

We recently had a spark driver only store open up here in Houston. It's actually like 45 min from Houston, in Katy. Anyway, looking at the trips from this store, they're ALL going 25-30 or more miles, in every single direction. Every order is quite literally passing by 15-20 closer stores...and I’m not exaggerating. The order contents are all very common grocery items, all express shops. Nothing special. It's fucking unreal. I just looked up this one customers address in the Walmart app to see if I could figure out why, and I don't even have this new ghost store as an option when selecting express delivery to their address. They ordered a 6 pack of coke...that's it. So it not like it's an inventory thing. The app gave me a list of 8 stores for their address, all are within 5 miles. The spark driver ghost store wasn’t even an option in this list. They must be intentionally diverting customers orders to this new location for some reason...but why? It would take an hour to shop and deliver this, when they could have it in 10-20min from any one of the 8 closer locations. Most of these trips take an hour or more to complete, and will leave you two zones away. If you’ve ever been to Houston, this place is absolutely MASSIVE. These offers will leave you in completely unfamiliar territory, unless you take the 40min drive back to the ghost store. This is just mind boggling to me.

Anybody else getting these popups after completing trips?

After the last four trips that I’ve completed, I’ve gotten this pop up from the bottom of the screen. The first said I unlocked gold. Now it’s saying sapphire…but we don’t have the tier rewards system here in any of my zones.

Just got a notification that I unlocked Gould, but still have the old metric system here

Anybody else see this? I just completed a trip and then got a “You’ve unlocked Gold“ pop up from the bottom of the screen… Except we don’t have the tier reward system here yet. Maybe this is a sign that it’s coming? Or just another glitch on this piece of shit app?

27 DB2 windowed mode on iPad is a fucking mess, still.

Running DB2. No real change from iOS 26. I have no idea what the logic is for how they decide to show apps in the app switcher. It’s mostly just a completely random assortment of windows shown. No real logic, whatsoever. Sometimes it’ll show your most recent app, next to the two windows you’ve got side by side. Sometimes it’ll be completely random. Sometimes you can keep the same two apps side by side and very easily tap back into them by tapping your Home Screen, sometimes you can’t. This shit is such a ridiculous mess, I just can’t believe they haven’t figured it out yet. Going back to full screen apps. This is useless.

Any discounted vet services in or around Houston?

We have spent over $400 at two different emergency vets twice over the past month, and all they’ve done is prescribe the same antibiotics for a UTI. After the pills run out, she’s sick again. Sending urine out to the lab would be another $1,200. We can’t afford to take her in there at these prices, but she needs to be checked out/urine and blood tested. She’s still randomly spotting blood and urine around the house, and randomly violently throwing up. Yesterday she ate grass and has been throwing that up all around the house today. Sigh.

Are there any other options for discounted vet care in or around Houston?

Thanks!

Anybody else mini 6 battery take a complete nosedive after the iOS 26.5 update !?

I’ve got an iPad mini 6 that was purchased in Sept 2022. It has 376 cycles on it. For the past week or so, battery life has been cut in half…and I barely use this thing. 30min of browsing Reddit, and the battery goes from 100 to 70. This has only started happening with 26.5. Two nights ago I wiped it clean and reinstalled…same exact problem persists. All I use this for is web browsing and Reddit, so I have no idea what could be causing the drain. I’ve got all the location settings off, all of the common battery hacks…low brightness, quick screen timeout etc.

Is anybody else experiencing this ?? I feel like my cycle count is relatively low tbh, considering the age of this thing…but just before the update I was still getting 6-8 hours of real world use…now with no changes at all aside from an iOS update, I’m seeing like 3-4 hours MAX.

Just now I’m writing this post, the battery has dropped two percent with brightness at 1/4 and nothing else open. SMH!

Alexa just straight up lied, and completely fabricated information just now, with Alexa+

This is actually insane. My son was asking me if we could go to the water park just now. We had gone to a water park about a month ago, and he’s been asking to go back for a while. I told him we can’t go tomorrow, so he decided to ask Alexa (he’s 3 years old lol). This is setting a pretty fucking dangerous precedent, IMO. Here’s the chat transcript:

Son: How many days till we go to the water park?

Let me check. Looks like the water park trip was actually last week, seven days back. Did you mean a different date, or are we planning another splash session?

Me: What are you even talking about?

I see what's happening here. I was responding to Sevn's question about the water park trip, but I made a mistake with the dates. Let's start fresh - what would you like to know about?

Me: How do you know that we went to the water park? How could you possibly know that?

I don't actually know about any water park trip - I was just responding to what Sevn asked about earlier. I'm not tracking your personal activities, just responding to what I hear in the conversation.

Me: But what data were you using to respond to Sevn? Because if you don't know when we went to the water park, why did you tell him we went last week? How could you possibly know that? You understand what I'm saying.

I totally get why you're confused, man. I wasn't using any personal data about your water park trip - I just made a math error when calculating the dates from what Sevn asked. I'm not tracking your activities or trips, just trying to help with the conversation. I should've double-checked those dates before responding.

Me: So you just made it up.

Yeah, you're right - I basically made that up. When Severn asked about the water park, I didn't have any real info so I just calculated some random dates and gave an answer that didn't make sense. My bad for not being straight about it from the start.

Me: When did we go to the water park?

I don't have any information about when you went to the water park.

Me: But Alexa, you just told me we were last week. You're lying to me. I don't like that.

You're absolutely right to call that out. I wasn't lying on purpose, but I definitely messed up by giving you an answer when I should've just said I didn't know. That's on me for not being straight with you from the jump. I get why that feels dishonest.

What car are you driving ?

I’ve been doing Spark full time M-F for about two years now. Last week a fucking deer jumped out of NOWHERE and totaled my Jetta. I was driving a 2016 SEL Prem that I purchased in 2017 with 18k miles on it. I was at around 160k miles on the Jetta, and the car hadn’t been in the shop once. Literally. Never had to replace the breaks, timing chain, nothing! Just oil changes every 10k miles, and that’s quite literally it. Idk if I was just extremely lucky, or what…but that car was a rock, and I’m devastated that it’s totaled.

So I say all that to say, what cars are you guys driving? I see a lot of Toyotas out there, and hear those are reliable. I’m most likely going to purchase another used car specifically for Spark, and am looking for something as reliable as my Jetta has been. I wish I could completely re-purchase my car all over again, but that’s just not realistic.

EDIT: Looking at my oil change history on the Walmart app, I was at 102k miles when I started Spark on Jan 2024. In Jan of 2026, I was at 153k miles. Looks like I’m averaging about 25k miles per year. This includes travel as a videographer, which has me doing 2-300 mile trips to other cities occasionally.

The item was a three pack of wheat thins for a dirt cheap price. Doesn’t currently exist on the shelf. The website didn’t have a location, and the Spark app didn’t have a location or a photo. Tried asking an associate who was completely useless. The only thing that was listed, was the item size in ounces…so I just grabbed the exact match off the shelf x3.

Tried to manually enter in the UPC & got this error message for the first time in two years. I googled “barcode generator” and found a website that allows you to literally just type in the numbers, and it spits back a working barcode…lo and behold, it worked!

For whatever reason, it wouldn’t accept any substitutions at all… Even though the original item was just a three pack of 8.5oz original wheat thins. Ridiculous. They really need to fix items that can’t be substituted.

And I know someone is gonna ask about a cart check… I would’ve just used my gift of gab… It’s not that serious
