Advice on a Starter Build

Advice on a Starter Build

Looking to start building out a little trail rig. Saw this 1977 Sears Craftsman 11/36 for sale near me for $200, supposedly in good shape aside from the deck mechanism (which I don't care abt anyways for obvious reasons). Is this a good start for a build?

Distractible Playing Card Project - it has begun

Gentle listeners and watchers,

We have begun work on the Distractible Trading Card Game. We are in need of artwork and vidpod clips to build out the cardbase; if anyone would like to join the project or contribute to the cause, please reach out! Either here on this post, on the DistractiGO discord, or reach out to me directly on reddit or Discord (Discord username: mosescope)

The cards will be standard Poker size, 2.5in x 3in, with the bottom third of the card reserved for the textbox. Full art cards are encouraged, as there will be cards w.out text and we can also just make the textbox opaque over the art as needed. We will need, at minimum, a set of 9 cards per host, and then an additional set of 9 "prize" cards (things that the hosts would find valuable, ranked 1-9).

We have a card template; see the Google Drive folder in the embedded link, and also listed at the bottom of the post, that you can use to make sure your art will work; note that we can resize most art to work if you don't want to bother checking.

For making a full card, I recommend using InkSkape (free vector art software) for putting artwork in the *.SVG template. Otherwise, there is a *.PNG template that will work for normal/raster art software & Microsoft Paint.

We will be using a modified Love Letters / Game Of Ultimate Strategy ruleset for the game rules. We are still working out the kinks there, so if you submit any cards/artwork please keep any text on the cards separate so we can balance everything later as required.

Cheers!

White slime on my plants?

Two month old tank, added fish after 1 month of cycling.

I've been seeing this weird white slime/fuzz grow on my plants, in addition to some stringy green algae. Any advice on ID'ing the slime/how to get rid of it? Anyone know if it is benign, or will it take over my plants?

I keep light levels moderate and leave some light tannins in the water (for my betta). 20 gal.

(The watermark in the bottom of the pictures is from my phone camera, I have a Blackview)

How much to feed a new betta?

This is my Plakat betta, he's been in his tank for 3 days. I made him fast the first day, and I've been feeding a pellet the size of his eye once per day for the past 2 days, which he has eaten the entirety of. How much should I normally feed him, and on what schedule?

10 gallon light blackwater tank, cycled and planted. No other fish or snails.

How long can I wait before putting betta in my tank?

Just bought a betta fish, but the tank is at my office; I can't put it in for another 18 hours. Will he be OK if I keep him dark and about 75 degrees?

EDIT: I should clarify - I have to wait because it's an office tank, and I don't come in to work until the morning. Have to get him the day before because I can't make it to the fish store and back on lunch break. Tank is planted, cycled, and ready to go.

Is my fern having babies?

Are these little root clusters what I think they are? Crested Java Windlov fern. I assume these are it attempting to propagate?

Light Blackwater Office Tank

I am putting together a fish tank for the my office, and what I settled on as a durable setup was a betta in a 10gal planted light blackwater tank. Didn't want to go below 10gal for fish health, and didn't want to go higher because large water changes in an office are a pain (I plan on 20% water change / week). In Day 14 of my fishless cycle, using Seachem for my bacteria and betta pellets for my ammonia source.

Plants are: 1x Anubias Barteri, 1x crested java windlov, 1x African Water Fern, all planted on Mopani wood. Have been planted for 11 days now.

I plan on adding a Nerite snail in a week, and my Betta in two weeks if the tank conditions read right. I have a good breeder in mind for the betta to avoid the inbred betta issue.

Opinions/advice on maintaining my blackwater setup? Currently, all tannins are coming from the Mopani wood. I believe this should sustain the water tint for a while, but, I might have to start supplementing eventually.

I'm trying to hit a goal of a happy fish, and a low-stress, long-lived tank for the office.
