Will there ever be a weight I feel confident enough to maintain and not keep losing? *VENT*

*Sorry for run-on sentences, I'm not the best at writing, especially long paragraphs*

*TW* Binge Eating - Body Dysmorphia

TL;DR - struggling with body image and worried that even at my "goal weight" I still won't be able to see myself positively

Just kind of a rant and looking for possible advice? Really struggling recently with body image, Just recently surpassed my first goal and got under 200lbs! but I feel the worst I've ever felt about my body tbh. (I AM IN THERAPY FOR BED and BODY DYSMORPHIA) People at my work and family/friends at gatherings always tell me "You look AMAZING" or "You're doing so good? Why aren't you happy?" and honestly I have no idea why when I'm asked "why aren't you happy"

Had therapy yesterday and my therapist told me "a lot of times with weight loss and eating disorders, there is no end weight, you just want to keep losing" and that really hit home with me because I have moved my "goal weight" back 3 times now (225 to 200 and now 175) I just feel like it will never be enough

I constantly check my physique in the mirror and am constantly shirt pulling/adjusting my jeans and belt to make sure I'm not muffin topping. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with loose skin since I've almost lost 180 lbs so the visuals aren't as tight as I'd want them to be, but I do definitely notice that I'm significantly smaller. I just hate constantly being scared to weigh in because I'll see bloating or water retention as actual weight gain and then I end up over restricting on my diet :/

I'm having trouble being okay with just maintaining for a bit as I've been in my deficit for almost 2 years now and have constantly been losing, but the summer has been a little bit more difficult on my binge habits so my weight loss has slowed a lot. I just hate seeing slight gain or maintaining for a week as a step backward in progress

Good Fall Scent for upcoming birthday present?

TL;DR - Skimmed thru prior posts and couldn't really find anything that fit my vibe, looking for a fall day-to-day scent to get myself for my birthday (favorite frag notes included in post)

I've looked up and skimmed thru "best fall scent" posts here in this sub but couldn't really find an answer that fit the notes I enjoy or it was just all the go-to recommendations (Which I'm not opposed to! Just hated seeing the same 3 frags be recommended lol)

My birthday is less than a month away and I don't really have a set Fall fragrence, I have some solid Winter, Spring, and Summer scents but nothing that really captures fall or gives off a more fall vibe imo.

I already have date night scent so really just looking for more of a day-to-day fall scent!

The notes I enjoy are: Vanilla, Nutty, Pistachio, Cherry, Spicy, Oud, Woody

My price range is honestly anything under $200-$250 but if it's worth I could potentially go a bit over.

I know UFC 6 has a lot of both positive and negative discourse, but would you recommend getting this game if you're mainly a single player user?

TL;DR - I'm mainly offline player and wondering if this game would be worth it to buy to play mainly the offline content? Or would it be best to just wait for a sale/not touch the game all together?

I have seen all the terrible things from the Flow state, to the mobile game esc graphic, to the cheesy and super OP fighters/meta combos this year but was wondering if they've fleshed out any of the offline modes this year?

I'm not the best ranked player (around Div 14-15, I think I peaked in Div 18 in UFC 4) so I mainly stick to offline and really enjoyed the daily contracts UFC 5 brought in last year.

Would you recommend getting this game if you're like 80/20 an offline player? Like is the career mode any more fleshed out than it has been? or the same ol' bs where all the real fighters are fighting into their late 40s-early 50s and is just the same repetitive thing after awhile? Have they added any new modes? Are the daily contracts still a thing?

Just wondering because I've been having an itch whenever I'm watching UFC cards to get back into the UFC games, but with how bad the reviews of this year have been I wanted to reach out to the community and get some feedback! Would you recommend waiting for a sale? Getting it now? Or just saying screw this game all together and either pickup an older title and not bother with this one?

Is a "Maintenance break" or "Maintenance week" okay to do?

I know this post screams I need to be in therapy and I am and constantly conveying my issues and thoughts to my therapist, but I'd like to hear from people who are in the same space or mindset for losing weight!

So I had a really bad binge weekend (12k cals over Fri, Sat) and then went back to my deficit for 2 days then ended up eating at maintenance last night. So I just was thinking about maybe following through with my regular diet and not trying to over restrict and just stay consistent from today going forward!

Obviously there will be real weight gain and not just inflammation/water retention this weigh in but I'm just curious would chalking this week up as a maintenance week be negative? Especially if I know I can hold myself accountable? I've been in my deficit for almost 2 years and haven't had a maintenace break/week once. Yes I've had cheat days or bad weekends but never this long of a stretch of bad eating, and I think it's due to me constantly trying to over correct and end up inevitably yo-yo'ing back to a binge.

If I stick to my deficit, my calories for this week will be about 22,000-23,000 and my expendiutre was only about 20,000-21,000 calories so I'm hoping the scale won't jump too too high due to me only being a tad bit above maintenance and accurately tracking, but idk why my brain keeps telling me if I don't overcorrect by only eating 1k cals these next 2 days I'm gonna balloon up to 225 when I was just at 206 last Friday... :/

I just feel like all the yo-yo'ing has my body exhausted and I'm in need for a good reset, but am just dreading the gain, but know I can get back to where I was if I just stay consistent!

TL;DR - Had a bad binge weekend and have been eating at maintenance every other day while being in my deficit the other, besides the obv weight gain, is there any negative's to chalking this up as a maintenance break? Do you/Have you taken maintenance breaks/weeks?

Is 5-6 lbs of weight gain due to water retention/inflammation realistic? Or am I just coping

So originally I weighed in Friday at 206.2 lbs which was already 3 lbs above last weeks weigh in. I did binge pretty bad Friday and Saturday (12k calories total) I’m starting to try out weighing in everyday, and when I weighed in Sunday I was 211.6!? I ate like normal all day and then I weigh in today and I’m 212.4! Could this really all be fluctuation? I know I definitely gained some legit weight due to my binges but did I really set my progress back 6 lbs?

I’m trying to tell myself that weight gain isn’t negative and it’s just a number on the scale but I’m still having trouble accepting the weight gain as a non negative thing… I am in therapy for BED so I’m actively trying to heal my relationship with food, I just was wondering if I’m being realistic when I tell myself what I’m currently weighing in at is just retention/inflammation? Or did I really totally screw up my progress from the last 1-1.5 months?

Gained 3 lbs on weekly weigh-in and really don't know how to go about not feeling crappy about myself

Had my regular Friday weigh in today and weighed in 3 lbs heavier from last weigh in (203.2-206.2) This is my first time gaining in about 3 months besides a weigh in I had impromtly for surgery but was able to correct that very next week.

Just feeling very down and out right now, I'm hoping it is just water retention or bloating but I stopped eating at around 8pm last night and weighed in at 3:55am and bloating/retention have never really been an issue for the past couple weeks when it comes to weigh-in day.

I have been binging or at least eating at maintenance at least 1x-2x a week for the last month and I'm completely lost on what to do, I'm on GLP-1 and I still binge from time to time and it makes me feel like I have ZERO discipline or self control.

I've tried taking my binges as is and not trying to over correct and just carry on with my diet as regular, I've tried over correcting to "make up" for the binges, etc and none of it seems to be helping. I was at least losing .5-1lb for the last 4-5 weeks so I wasn't getting too down on myself I just hate how much my mental health relies on the scale...

I am in therapy for my BED and have a table chart I log my weekly calories and expenditure into along with what I weighed in at for said week so I'm pretty well informed and weigh my foods correctly and don't lie to myself about my eating habits but even when I expect I'll probably gain a few lbs I still freak out.

Idk sorry for the long rant/vent, just kinda needed to get my thoughts out in a safe place where people experience similar issues. Any advice or kind words would be greatly appreciated, even just taking the time to read my rambles would make me thankful.

TL;DR Gained 3 lbs on my weekly weigh in and shot for ideas on what to do or how to restructure my thinking into not thinking 3 lbs (or weight gain in general) is the end of the world

Having surgery soon and terrified of how the recovery will affect my gains/weightloss… Needing some support :/

Hello all,

This Friday I’m having a procedure done that will cause me to be out of the gym for 1-2 weeks. I know it may seem irrational and I know my body will need rest for recovering but I’m needing some support that 1-2 weeks off won’t ruin my progress.

I have been on a weightloss journey for about 1.5-2 years now and haven’t ever taken more than 3-4 days off from the gym, I know life happens and it will cause the gym to not be a possibility for periods of time but I’m just scared with this time off im going to lose a lot of progress and in turn lose motivation.

I have been talking to my therapist about it and she told me that I should look at this as my body deserving this time to rest and recover. I’m trying to look at it like that but I’m just seeing it as so much time to allow myself to become unmotivated and lose determination. I literally am already yearning to go back to the gym and I’m not even recovering yet.

If I give myself 1,800cal/day would i at least be able to maintain where I’m at while recovering at my stats?

Stats - 6ft 1in 218.8lbs 24 years old Male

Need New Recs on a good Beer to try with my buddy

So me and my buddy are having a cookout tomorrow and I want to try to bring a cool new beer that we haven't tried.

Located in Lincoln, NE

What are some of your recommendations? Neither of us really enjoy IPA's or anything below a Pale Ale honestly. Our go-to's are Bud Light Lime and Mic Ultra Cactus Lime

Our selection we already have is Hamm's, Garage Beer Lime, and Cactus Lime Mic Ultra. Anything that is a must try?

Had a really crappy binge this weekend. Trying to look at the positives but need some advice on if I'm just lying to myself

TL;DR: Had some bad high caloric days over Mother's Day weekend and am looking for advice/insight on if my new way of thinking is positive, or if I'm just lying to myself

Hi all,

This Mother's Day weekend was not the kindest to me food wise. I normally weigh in on Fridays and I weighed in at my first initial goal weight (220 lbs) took me over 1.5 years to reach this point but I want to reach my final goal (200 lbs)

With seeing the new low on the scale I decided to let myself eat a tad bit more than normal, I normally eat 1,800/day. I workout 3-4x a week and on average I walk about 2.5-3.5 miles a day. I ended up eating 4500 cals on Friday, followed by another 3k on Saturday and for the full trifecta I bet I ate about 6k cal on Sunday.... I feel so gross and terrible about myself but at least I actually tracked accurately even if I didn't like the result.

I'm trying to reason with myself that I don't need to punish myself with severe restriction this week to 'make up' for what I gained... I wish I didn't feel like I needed to punish myself with food.

I feel it was kind of an eye opening binge for me though. I realized I put so much stress on myself to make sure I'm losing at least 1lb a week that I realized it's not the end of the world if I maintain or even gain 1-4lbs because I'm staying on track with my exercise and as long as I get back on the wagon with food I will be back to where I was very soon, I hope. I have therapy tomorrow but I feel even though I will have to admit I ate poorly, I feel like I have found or am finding a better more positive mindset to food.

Idk sorry if this was just a long pointless rant, I just want to know if I sound crazy or if this is a positive outlook on things? Am I really screwed after eating terribly this weekend and I'm just being oblivious?
