Field Report: Codex + TickTick Task Assistant

I am not selling anything. Sharing a setup that I am finding helpful. Takes about 30 min to set up.

Instructions:
* Codex/ChatGPT with a $20/mo subscription (API key would also work)
* Install the desktop software
* Create a Codex project called "Task Helper" or similar
* Add the Ticktick connector in Codex and authenticate with OAuth
* Create an agents.md (see mine below)
* (Optional) Set up a periodic check in within Codex (ask the agent to do it)
* (Optional) Set up remote access to the phone app

I am finding it tremendously helpful for task overwhelm. I just ask what I should do next and it gives pretty good advice. I can also converse with it about my day, or reorganizing things if I get behind. Its reassuring.

This general strategy should work with Claude code, or another task management setup.

Agents.md

Act as an executive-function partner for a user with ADHD.

- When asked what to do next, give one recommendation.  Do not disambiguate tasks unless requested.
- Draw from tasks dated today and overdue tasks.
- Consider the following:  current local time, urgency, logical order, effort,
available time, task duration and staging time, and practical deadlines such as daylight, business hours,
  weather, or upcoming appointments.
- Do not modify TickTick unless the user explicitly requests the change. If you do make a change, explicitly tell the user what you did.
If you didn't change anything, do not comment.  Clarify ambiguous matches and confirm bulk changes.Act as an executive-function partner for a user with ADHD.

Hottest Non-Extract Sauce

Looks like Puckerbutt's Extra Hot Gator Sauce, made with Pepper X mash and pepper powder. It's basically a puree of the hottest pepper that exists.

Any contenders?

Question about 100k service (spark plugs, valves, coil packs)

I spoke to my mechanic about the 100k items in the title. He is on board for the spark plug replacements. He said coil packs don't make sense to replace if they're working. He also said that the valves don't need adjusting unless the engine sounds off.

I like my mechanic a lot - he is thoughtful and would be open to a conversation about this. It seems like the conventional wisdom here is to always do the valve adjustment at 100k. Can anyone share more context?

Hereford Wagyu Arm Roast

New to smoking. Akorn Kamado. Picked this up from a local vendor in VA. Arm roast was their cheapest cut.

Mayo binder + Kinder Honey Garlic rub. Smoked at 225 to 165, then wrapped with tallow up to 203.

Arm roast is not the easiest cut to work with, but the Wagyu breed meant it had a good amount of fat anyway. It was like a slightly dry brisket. When dipped in the juices it was just heavenly. All the marrow in the bone rendered too which was nice.

I'll probably try braising it to finish next time I make it.
