I currently work in a hospital doing medical records and I’m offered free tuition that I’d like to take advantage of. I’ve been looking into Rad Tech and it seems interesting but I’m afraid I might not be smart enough!!! I see I have to take anatomy and I hateddddd that when I did my Aesthetics class.

I know everyone learns and retains knowledge differently. I’m wondering what everyone’s experience with rad tech school was- did you find it difficult? If so what specifically was difficult. Do you recommend getting into this field, etc…

I’ve been wanting to learn ASL for a while, and I’m hoping someone here can point me toward a good class, either online with a live instructor or in person somewhere in the Hudson Valley NY.

I want to preface this because I’ve seen conversations on social media about hearing people wanting to learn ASL, and I don’t want my intentions to come across the wrong way. I’m not trying to learn it because I think it’s “cool” or as a hobby without any real connection to the Deaf community. I genuinely want to be able to communicate better with Deaf and hard-of-hearing people I encounter in everyday life. Since I started working after high school, I’ve worked in retail, the medical field, and office settings, and I’ve encountered Deaf people who needed help more times than I can count. I always try my best to communicate, but I’ve often felt awful that I couldn’t properly communicate with someone when they were just trying to get help or get something taken care of. I imagine it must be incredibly frustrating to need assistance and then have to figure out how to communicate with someone who doesn’t know your language. One experience in particular has stuck with me. When I worked at Target, there was an older Deaf man who came in fairly often. Some of my coworkers would get frustrated because they couldn’t communicate with him, so I would help him as best I could. We ended up communicating through the text feature on his phone. Every time he came back, he would specifically look for me because we had figured out a way to communicate. It really made me realize how much easier and more natural it would be if I actually knew ASL. I’ve also encountered Deaf people while traveling, and I’ve had the same feeling — I just wish I could communicate with them normally rather than relying on typing things out or trying to gesture/figure things out. So I’d really love to learn ASL properly and respectfully, ideally from a Deaf instructor or through a program connected to the Deaf community if possible. I’ve had a hard time finding local colleges that offer ASL classes. Does anyone know of good in-person classes in the Hudson Valley, or reputable online classes with a live instructor? I’d also really appreciate recommendations for programs/resources that are considered respectful and appropriate by people in the Deaf/ASL community. Thank you!

I have bite the apple for Camden tomorrow and I’m confused on how this works. My email says check in 2-5:30 & press conference is at 5:30. What does check in mean? I know bite the apple doesn’t get a number so does check in mean just waiting in line to get into soundcheck? Or am I showing up to the venue to check in, leaving, and then coming back at 5:30 for the soundcheck? I just need to know how to plan my day because I’m driving a few hours and still have to check into my hotel before hand andddd get ready

I have BTA for my show next Saturday August 8th- what day should I expect an email about arrival time and will the email come from the venue or Ticketmaster ?

I’m looking for some spicy thriller, mystery, psychological books… I keep seeing dark romance when I google books but I’m wondering what that means? I’m not looking for a book that’s Non-consensual or dubious-consent situations, Kidnapping, BDSM, Abuse or manipulation between the main characters, Torture or graphic violence… I just want regular spiciness lol. Any recs?????

I’m 33, 222 lbs and 5’7 fm. I’ve struggled with weight my entire life but the last year and a half it’s been bad and I went from 195 to 222. I’ve been doing research because I have a doctors appointment this week to address my weight struggles. As far as weight and eating- it’s like I have no self control. I’ll eat and eat because something tastes good and I’ll make myself sick just bc I wanna keep eating. I’m constantly craving my next meal, I can’t eat just 1 or 2 sweets and be done with it I have to eat the entire thing, even when I know I’m eating too much I just keep going o genuinely feel like I black out, as dramatic as that sounds lol.. Besides the weight gain I do have other “symptoms” like fatigue, hair growth in chin and lip, my cycle has always been heavy and irregular so I’ll be addressing that with the doctor as well. I’ve looked into glp1s and they make me a little nervous, and then I came across Contrave and it seems like it would help me with my “appetite”… I’ll be good for months at a time with exercise and diet but I never see a change so I go right back to my old habits. I’ve recently learned the term “food noise” and I think that describes me perfectly. I’d like to go into my doctors appt with an idea of what I’d like to do and how I can move forward because I really need help I can’t loose the weight on my own.

I’m looking for a part time job after my full time 8-4:30pm job. I have office and retail experience but I’m open to anything. I currently work in Poughkeepsie so it would probably be easier for me to head right from my full time to a part time job in Poughkeepsie, Beacon or Fishkill area but I live in Newburgh so that works too! 😅 While some of the twists were wild, I couldn't get past how messy and inconsistent the story felt. The biggest issue for me was Birdy. The entire book seems to suggest that she doesn't remember much about her past, yet by the end it becomes clear that she knows way more than the narrative initially lets on. She inherits Spyglass from a grandmother she supposedly doesn't remember, but later it feels like she actually knows so much more about her family history than we're led to believe. Then there's the scene where she's at Spyglass with Harrison and recognizes the photo of the little girl on the wall, and Harrison says he knew she'd remember eventually. But if she already knew who Gabriella was and that she is her mother, why is that treated like some huge revelation? There were multiple moments where it felt like characters were reacting a certain way just to preserve the mystery rather than because their reactions actually made sense.. Don’t get me wrong- I love an unreliable narrator, hidden information, & big twists, & I was completely hooked until the last few chapters, but the ending led to more questions than answers- and usually it doesn’t take much for me to enjoy a book or be shocked by twists, I’m pretty easy to entertain. But with this book I spent more time questioning the logic & continuity than being shocked by the reveals. The plot had so much potential, but by the end it felt like the twists came at the expense of the story making sense, & everything was all over the place…Did anyone else feel this way, or am I missing something 😅😭😂

I’m thinking of getting bite the apple but I have a few questions (please answer if you had bite the apple specifically I’ve heard the other packages are different)

1. Is it worth it?? I know I’ll be in soundcheck but I’m assuming there’s going to be 300+ people in there as well

2. Can I bring signs into the soundcheck

3. After the soundcheck is completed, can I leave the venue you and go back to my hotel? Please don’t come for me- but I don’t particularly care about seeing The Band Camino and I have a 3 hour drive so I don’t wanna wear my concert fit in the car- I wanna leave after soundcheck and change

4. And how does it work? lol some people on TikTok are talking about numbers and receiving a check in time, so what is the process I guess.

This is the first time I’ve ever attended soundcheck so I’m not sure how this works.. I know I’ll get an email with my arrival/check in time on it, but I’m staying in a hotel and check in is at 3pm and I have a 3 hour drive... If I have my ride drop us off at soundcheck, can I then leave the venue to go back to my hotel and change in to my concert fit and and then go back to the venue for the show?? I hope this makes sense lol. Or is it venue specific?? Like some venues will let you leave and come back and others won’t?? I’m going to Camden NJ 8/8/26 if that helps. Thanks!!!

What time should I get to the venue? It’s not like I’m star pit or anything and sound check is usually around 4:30/5:30 from what I’ve seen. I’m going to the August 8th Camden NJ of that helps.

My father is a big Lou Reed fan. His first Lou Reed show was 1986 Mistrial tour with The Smithereens at the Civic Center in Poughkeepsie NY. He attended the show with his best friend who has since passed away. For Father’s Day, I’m looking to find some sort of merch/memorabilia from this specific show. I found a ticket stub online but it has a random seat number which I don’t love but if that’s all there is I can make do. Can anyone recommend a website or anything where I can find something??? I’m getting married and I want my reception to be at a campground, I want my guests to be able to stay over and we have a weekend long party. The ceremony will be in Lake Katrine, so I’m looking for something within an hour radius tops for the reception to take place.
