How difficult is a score of 50?

The med school I would like to get into requires a score of 50, and 50 in each section, and applicants are not ranked on anything higher. Is this a reasonably easy score to achieve do you think? I barely remember any physics or chemistry to be fair so I’ll have to study those.

If I dye this fabric, would it still be tartan?

Probably a stupid question- I’m desperately searching for a fabric like this dress (second pic), with no luck. I don’t like that this fabric from Blackbird (first pic) has white in it. If I was to dye the fabric with a colour that is lighter than the dark brown in the first fabric, would the dye likely fill in the white and multiply in the brown, or would what could I expect? I realise it won’t end up as dark as the reference photo, but it would eliminate the white right? Hopefully this makes sense!

Why do the doctors refuse to touch flowers for me?

Hi guys,

I’m a 25f and suffer from kidney pain due to kidney infections every fortnight, and chronic migraines + insomnia + ADHD. I’ve had a few consults with Cannaplus and every time I try to ask about switching from the THC and CBD oil to flowers they brush me off and tell me to increase my CBD oil, which really does nothing.

Just trying to understand - does anyone know why this might be? Are patients meant to try oil first and only switch to flowers if they aren’t managing with the oil? Am I being stereotyped as a youngish woman who doesn’t look like she’d ever smoke weed? Is it the risk of developing a lung issue? Obviously you guys can’t give me a definitive answer but I am curious if anyone knows why they might be doing this?

DIY Movie Theatre Popcorn?

My favourite thing about the movies is the popcorn, and I’d love to make it at home, but as I’ve never had overseas movie popcorn I’m unsure if the recipes online are actually the same as our popcorn. Does anyone make their own popcorn that actually tastes like the movies? Melted butter and salt doesn’t quite seem to taste right. Thank you!

Would you draft the centre seam of this dress to be straight or flared?

Hi guys,

I would like to replicate this style of dress, but with full length princess seams. I want it to be reasonably flared, a bit like the image. I’m unsure what is better for drafting the centre front seam since it won’t be on a fold - is it optimal to make it straight or flare out after the waist? What about the centre back seam? Thank you!

Edit: left illustration is the centre front panel with a vertical centre front seam, right illustration is centre front panel with a flared centre front seam. I know the dress pictured doesn’t have a centre seam, I just meant the silhouette, I should have been clearer.

Do I need to take length out of princess seam bodice block?

I’m working on a princess seam bodice block (no seam allowance), and there’s definitely a lot to improve. I need to move my shoulder seam way forward at the neckline, add ease below the waist in the princess seam, and take some fabric out of the back shoulder armscye, to start. If you have any other suggestions, I would love them! Is my shoulder length good?

Before I take apart my bodice, I would please like your thoughts: Is the wrinkling/drag lines in 1 improved by taking length out of the front waist as in 2? And also taking length out of the centre-panel bust line in 3? It looks like maybe the back needs some length taken out at the waist too?

I do apologise that this doesn’t have balance lines, and is inside out, it’s an old block I found and wanted to work on!

Shoulder adjustment necessary?

I’m restarting my sloper journey after previously giving up, and as you can see I have *a lot* to adjust. Before I spend time with all that, I would please like a logic check… does my shoulder seam need to come forward? I’ve read it’s meant to sit under the earlobe, but I feel like my head protrudes quite far forward so my earlobe is extremely far forward. The red line is where diagrams seem to imply it should sit, is this too far forward?

Does Butterick B6849 include seam allowance in pattern?

The Butterick B6849 is a fitting shell, but it’s also a dress. It includes the statement “use 1.5cm seam allowance”. Generally slopers wouldn’t include seam allowance, so I’m confused if this means print out the pattern and then manually add seam allowance, or do I follow the pattern lines, and remove 1.5cm for my finished sloper pattern?

Really bad cold because pharmacists don’t understand POTS

I’m so mad. I have a terrible cold, and as everyone here knows, that’s not a good combo with POTS. The only medication that works is Pseudoephedrine, as I had some left over from travelling, but that’s a pharmacist only medication here.

You’re not allowed pseudoephedrine if you have a heart condition. Every pharmacy has rejected me because I have a “heart condition”. POTS IS NOT A HEART CONDITION. I have tried to explain this and they do not understand.

So now I’m miserable for no good reason and incredibly frustrated.

Has anyone paid a tailor to take their measurements?

I’m trying to draft a sloper and it just keeps going wrong, and unfortunately the only class local to me is $1500. I suspect my partner is doing me dirty with his measuring. I’m curious if anyone has paid a tailor to take their measurements, whether they felt they did a good job (obviously tailor dependent but is this something in their wheelhouse?), and whether it improved the fit of their garments?

Hi guys,

I have a bachelors in biology (biomed pathway) and a masters in biomed. I would look at doing a pgdip as a GPA booster as my GPA is only about 6.5, before applying for medicine.

My confusion is, about 7 years ago I did the core biomed papers as part of my undergrad, with no interest in getting into medicine at the time, so my grades were pretty rubbish. I’m super lost as to whether this would factor into a postgrad application for medicine? Would really appreciate if anyone knows!

I’m trying to bond my two beautiful bunnies (both desexed, male is 4ish, female 1.5ish), but the male is being a real arsehole. They will lick each other, stretch out next to each other, and eat together, but randomly during this process the male will lunge and teeth her. I say teeth - because I got my hand in between and it’s not a proper bite, but it startles her, which startles him (what do you expect??) and a fight will start if I don’t intervene. Gandalf (male) does this to me mid lick too, and he randomly runs up and bites our feet (arsehole), but I’m not sure how to get him to stop doing it to Daphne. He sometimes grunts while doing this, despite licking her before and after.

Additionally, Gandalf will start humping Daphne, and she accepts it for about 5 seconds and then freaks out and a tornado erupts. This is so bad that when I got my arm in between to stop it, Gandalf left a very deep bite. The internet says not to intervene as mounting is critical to bonding, but I have to stop it before it escalates - should I hold Daphne still and let him mount her? Or just stop it entirely?

Lastly, they will be so nice to each other, but if one happens to have their butt close to the other’s nose the other bunny will get this bright idea to bite their genitals. It’s like they get possessed for a second - one second they’re lovely, the next they’re insatiable for genital biting. I don’t understand this at all! It’s like a light switch flicks in their brain.

For context, Gandalf had a partner for 3 years before this, and he was an angel with her. Neither ever humped or bit each other and it was love from first sight. It’s only after she passed away last year that he’s started being a grumpy old man, and Daphne is my second attempt to bond a female to him, he HATES my other bunny.

These three points are stagnating bonding and I’m not sure how to troubleshoot. If anyone has thoughts on any of these points I’d love to pick your brain!
