MRT schedules?

Hi! Would anyone who’s starting Medical Radiation Technology this fall be willing to share a screenshot of their timetable? I’m starting in January and I’d love to have a peek at what first sem could potentially look like in terms of workload.

Thank you!

I’m right inbetween sizes

I’ve heard that sizing can be inconsistent but the measurements online also tell me that i’m right in between a medium and a large.

I ordered 2 pairs of the high waisted isabel pant in Medium Tall and Large Tall. The medium is a little difficult so pull over my hips and it’s snug on my thighs but i
like the way they look. I’m just worried because when I squat it feels super tight.
The large however is mega big. Like I have gapping at the waist and it looks silly when I cinch in the waist with the string. They also feel more baggy in the front which is comfy but I feel like I’m swimming in them and I don’t feel as cute lol.

Will the large shrink with washes? I can’t imagine keeping the medium for when I’m bloated.

Random Questions MRT

I’m going into MRT for Jan 2027. The supplies info says:

- Right and Left Markers- approx. $70 to be purchased at Algonquin College Connections Campus Store

- Scrub pants- Any style, Any make (no yoga/ gym pants) Solid BLACK colour
- Scrub Tops- Any style, Any make, Color: Dark Gray (also named slate/pewter/ charcoal

Are we expected to only use markers from Connections or can I buy them in advance from somewhere else? Are we allowed to have ones with different patterns/our initials? Are we also allowed to wear a colored/fun badge buddy? What about a fun badge reel? Lastly, i’m confused as to why it says we need black pants and a dark gray top. I’m assuming that’s not right lol.

Can anyone who’s taken the program give me any insight? My questions are silly and they’ll be cleared up at orientation but that’s quite far away and I’m just trying to get excited before starting the program :) Thanks!

Knix has disappointed me

Okay so I’ve been struggling with my periods leaking through both tampons and menstrual cups. And it’s not necessarily just when my flow is heavy either, it’s like my tampon will be half soaked but the other half will just miss the mark? I’m not quite sure how that happens but I’ve struggled with it since I first started using tampons. Same thing with a menstrual disc, it just leaks a bit no matter the angle!

I wanted a pair of period underwear just to have as a backup because I definitely would not be comfortable using them on their own. I went with the thong from Knix and i’m kind of disappointed. I haven’t used it on my period yet but I tried it on and the crotch is so dense.

You know how some people struggle with a camel toe when they wear leggings? I’ve always had this issue and a liner seems to fix it for me. I thought the thong would kind of be like that but instead it creases upwards and gives me a VERY NOTICEABLE camel toe.

Anyways, i’m looking for a thong that’s not SO bulky/stiff as a backup for a tampon or menstrual disc. I was looking at Saalt but I went with Knix because I have a physical store near me. Any experience with Saalt or any other recs would be greatly appreciated!! :) I’m in Canada if that matters.

Is it worth it for me to pursue this?

I decided I wanted to become an xray tech about a year ago while attending a different college program. I applied as soon as I could and although I did pretty bad on the entrance exam, I got accepted.

I live in Canada. The program here is 1 year straight through of college and then 1 year of clinicals.

Now here is my problem. I’ve had terrible periods since I was young but they’ve progressively gotten a bit worse. Every month I miss 1-2 days of work but my job is very flexible so it’s okay for me to do so. I’m throwing up, curled up in a ball and medication doesn’t do enough for me. I’m currently waiting for a level 2 ultrasound but the gynecologist told me it’s just bad luck that my periods are so painful.

I’m scared for what this will look like for me in an intensive program. I have a business diploma but it was the kind of classes I could often skip and I know I can’t do that for this one. Especially for clinicals, I’ve been told you are given like 2-5 days off MAX and there’s a chance you could fail out if you aren’t present. I feel really scared for what’s to come because I’m so excited and I want this future for myself, but the possibility of me not being able to meet the expectations is weighing be me down.

Any similar experiences or stories?

I didn’t have clove oil on hand and I feel terrible

My betta has had a tumor for about 7 months and I’ve had him for 11 months. It’s slowly gotten larger over time but he’s never changed his behavior and he’s been a happy little guy.

Yesterday I noticed he stayed at the bottom of his tank for the majority of the day but he came up to eat. I tested parameters and they were normal. Then today, he wasn’t moving so I moved the water around a bit and he jolted up then he started thrashing around like crazy, obviously distraught. I could immediately tell that it’s time to make the hard decision because he has never acted this way but I’m really not capable of doing the blunt force method. I ordered clove oil and it will be here tomorrow morning but I just came home from work and he’s in the exact same position at the bottom as when I left this morning. I don’t see any gill movement so I think he’s gone but I will use the oil tomorrow just to be sure.

I’m just sad I didn’t have the oil on hand earlier :( I didn’t want my little guy to suffer and go out that way. Now I know to always have it just incase. RIP Royal💙

Selling Textbooks I used for the HPAT

I bought two textbooks to study for the hpat because I’d never taken chem and forgot most of my bio from highschool. They’re definitely more advanced but they did help me study for the test.

Olmsted, Williams, Burk Chemistry Third Canadian Edition for $70. Campbell Biology Third Canadian Edition for $55.

Both are loose-leaf and in a binder. Selling them together for $110. If you’re interested send me a message. I can meet at Algonquin.

looking for a video of a guy falling off a skateboard

I believe this video was on FailArmy years ago. It’s a video where this guy falls off his skateboard and manages to hit his head on the board in the dumbest way. It’s honestly funny, not the kind of video where someone seriously gets hurt because I don’t like those fails.

Does anyone know what i’m talking about? I don’t remember any other specific details so this might be a shot in the dark.

Can I use electives from my previous program as credit for an upcoming one?

I previously took a 2 year program and took 3 electives throughout it. I’m starting a new program and I’m just wondering if anyone knows if it possible for me to transfer those credits or if it’s mandatory to take them again. Thanks.

MRT Question

In regards to medical radiation technology, is the clinical placement one placement all the way through for 12 months? As in if I need to move for clinicals, there is no possibility to get a second one closer to home?

Also, is there a break at any point in the full-time work?

I’ve just found out that the January intake doesn’t have any break which is brutal 😅

Just looking for some info. Thanks!!
