Ep3 actor tierlist

So if people make tierlists everywhere, why not a tierlist of Charlie's puppets according to how well they are chosen for the role.

  • Tier S: It doesn't get more obvious than this.
    • Two characters go in this tier. First is The Father, of course. Played by, well, the father. And the second is The Witch. I actually laughed out loud when I replayed this for the first time after Ep5, because The Witch is literally just Kaneeka. Okay, Charlie, that was almost too straightforward if you ask me.
  • Tier A: Pretty logical if you think about it.
    • Three roles here. The Lover is Stella, because she's the likable extravert who you're pretty likely to romance on your first playthrough. And on the others too, because why not, she's nice, and she's always around anyway. The Entity is Avery — not just because they're nonbinary, but also because they're an outsider in Scarlet Hollow. Just like the Entity itself. And suddenly, Zane is also here. He's this side character who we hardly see, but when we do see him, he speaks of mortality. And it's similar in the play: he only shows for half a minute to say that The Father is dying.
  • Tier B: I had to do with what I have.
    • Rosalina (The Mother) and Alexis (The Mob) go here. The closest there is to some relevance is perhaps that Alexis was a dick to Rosalina on Tuesday, but that's it. Alexis is even the only actor whose gender doesn't match the role. Well, she represents a bunch of people, but those people were miners and probably mostly men.

I guess some people might move up in tier later, like Kaneeka did after Ep5, but for now it's like this.

Why do I keep converting to the Brecilian Chantry?

I'm sorry to bother you again, but this has happened three times now.

First, some holy lady from the Forest comes and says there's no reason to fight, it's just that the Maker sent spirits to help the people. Okay. I say all right, I'm not with you, but go on, proselytise. Suddently it turns out that I've converted to Brecilian Chantry and have to pay a hefty price in Piety to convert back.

Okay, I think, no more Brecilian preachers in my realm. The second and third time I just straight up order them arrested. They're arrested, but I'm Brecilian again! Is that how it's supposed to be?

It's 4.40 Black, and Brecilian Chantry is an organised Andrastian faith with the Fundamentalist principle. No longer Pluralist.

What's this about the Canticle of Shartan, anyway?

I keep getting prompts about how the Canticle of Shartan was erased from the Chant of Light. I'm asked if I believe it was the right decision. I choose no, and nothing happens, but a few years or decades later the question appears again. Is this a work in progress for now?

I have a weird theory to share.

Before anything else, I'd like to mention that Dragon Age is a canon that's full of lies and forgotten lore. Many things are not known to the general public, or sometimes not known at all.

So.

First of all, the Grey Wardens obviously use blood magic in their Joining rituals. This is the secret that Duncan was protecting when he killed that poor guy. It looks like he was hiding that the Joining is often lethal, but that lethality is definitely known to Anora at least, she mentions it at the Landsmeet. And while Anora's a smart lady, she's grown up in a country that hasn't had any Wardens for centuries. She's unlikely to know any insider information, and she's even less likely to mention it at the Landsmeet where everyone's listening.

Second of all, so do the Templars. A phylactery cannot be anything else. Besides using blood, its tracking is probably connected to the mind reading that blood magic allows you to do.

Third, there's this line in the Last Flight when Isseya finds out her partner is a blood mage. He asks her how she knew (he's been cautious), and she says: "I'm a mage too, I can see when you don't reach into the Fade for your magic."

So here's the big question. If you don't need to reach into the Fade, then do you even need to be a mage to practice blood magic? Sure, everyone seems to think you do, but remember this is a canon full of lies. Sure, the easiest way to learn it is to find a demon who will teach you, and that usually requires entering the Fade consciously. But while it's the easiest, it's not the only way.

I'm not saying this is true for certain. Maybe the Joining and the phylacteries require a mage intervention at some point. But it looks possible, doesn't it?

The Blight Sickness?

So i started my firrst playthrough as a Denerim noble on the way to becoming the King of Ferelden. It all went well, despite the fact that I haven't yet understood how to make the realm not split into a thousand pieces after the monarch's death. But then the Blight Sickness came.

I get that it's an overhaul of the vanilla Black Death. But quick googliing tells me that the Black Death is usually gone in 4-5 years. This one has been raging across the map for 19 years and has no plans to go away yet. Control has fallen to zero everywhere, I'm deep in debt because the holdings bring no money, and people keep dying — right now I'm playing as a child who has no Player Heir.

Is this intended? If so, what am I supposed to do? I have built hospices, set my healer on the plague control task, secluded my capital and myself. Doesn't help much, unfortunately.

Big Tomorrah not cooperative

Okay, it's not everyday you run into a problem with a game that is not easily solved by googling.

Here I am, in Arx. I need the Second Passion of Lucian. And here it is before me, in Big Tomorrah's hideout. I passed her check, I'm free to walk around now. But when I ask her to sell me the painting, she just says "Let me think... no." There's no persuasion check, nothing. I maxxed her attitude by giving her gifts. I have 10k gold on me. But she just flat out refuses.

This doesn't look like a bug, I mean there's a voiced dialogue line and all. But no guide mentions it, and people mostly seem to only have problems with finding the painting.

I really don't want to steal from the smart street girl, even if she is the head of the Thieves' Guild. I guess I could steal the replica from the Cathedral, but come on, it's almost a matter of principle at this point.

Can anyone help me, please?

I love their attitude to the drow twins.

So I have two playthroughs so far. Yeah yeah rookie numbers, but still.

On my first playthrough, I was a goodie-two-shoes Cleric Tav who romanced Shadowheart. So, Act 3 comes, and the drow twins say "ohh your significant other is here, we want you both at once." And my sweet sweet Selûnite girlfriend suddenly says "sure, why not?". And we go there, and they worship Shart's feet, and it's all very nice.

My second playthrough was the evil one. Destroyed grove, dead Karlach, Slayer form, all the big guns. I romanced Minthara, obviously making no attempt to soften her up in any way. And when the twins said their piece, Minty refused outright. No, she said, you're mine and no one else's. No twins allowed.

What I want to say is this: it's nice to have a game where a woman's sexual preferences don't equal her morals. Because, frankly, there are so many more exciting ways for a woman to be immoral!

What is legal in your country but illegal in most others?

Inspired by a recent post that was about the opposite.

In Russia, you can legally buy a distilling apparatus and brew moonshine for your own consumption. As long as you don't sell it, you have no problems with the law enforcement.

Diving exercises?

Once a week, I go diving in a 5 m deep pool for training and keeping my skills from rusting. I don't really have a couch though, I'm mostly on my own down there.

What kind of exercises do you think I could do to get better at diving? I already train frog & back frog, swim through rings, change my depth with breathing, take the BCD and fins off underwater and put them back on. Not all at once, of course. Sometimes I also train my DSMB skills.

Do you have any more ideas what I can do?
