CEU documentation

I have some free time so i've been doing lots of ceus in a day like 7-10 total ceu hours. When i upload it to MyCDR will they think its sus that i completed that many hours of ceu in one day? I skip a lot of the webinars because they get boring and idk if thats wrong of me to do

New RD-feeling nervous for jobs and lack of knowledge

Hi everyone, i recently passed my exam last week and have slowly been in the process of looking for jobs. my internship experience was not the greatest as i know many others can relate. i feel like my rotations were bogus and didnt teach me anything valuable, i think it taught me me where i didnt wanna be. even when i did my clinical rotation like yes i learned a lot back then, but as i was studying for my exam, i felt like there was so much i didnt touch base on during my clinical rotation. and now as i look for job, im starting to get nervous. do i even know enough? am i qualified? can i confidently talk to patients and help them without the need for googling everything to make sure i am giving the right info. i just dont feel like im ready for a job because. its like you know when you apply to a new job and everything is new to you, the policies, rules, the way they do things, meeting people and working with them. i didnt get good experience in my clinical rotations for me to be confident enough to talk to other healthcare professionals in a professional matter. i dont even know what id ask them. it almost feels like i have no knowledge for anything anymore. i wanna work in long term care in the beginning just so i can get used to working and seeing repetition will help me understand more. i also want to work in a hospital but i have zero idea how that looks like. i'd love to talk to anyone who can give me insight! just feeling a little down because i dont feel prepared at all going in.

RD working at a gym + new RD jobs

I'm a new RD (just passed my exam last week) and am getting in the process of job hunting. I will say i am pretty nervous looking for work because I feel like my entire internship did not help me build the confidence I need to work in a hospital or LTC. I feel like i don't know anything or am confident enough to help people without looking at my notes or googling to make sure I am doing the right thing.

I've always been interested in fitness and wanted to see if my gym even offered a position as an RD since i know many gyms don't have that, or they just have a bunch of personal trainers who offer nutrition advice. If i were to be an RD for the gym, how would i approach this? Are there certain software you'd recommend so i keep track of clients? Do i do meal plans? What if they give me their labs to look at so i have a better understanding. I would love some guidance on this!

I'd also love to know what jobs you all started off as for your first job. Again my internship sucked and my clinical rotation literally consisted of me charting the entire time and doing quarterlies and new admissions. Didn't do anything else.

passed with a 25! here's how i studied

i finally passed on my third attempt with a 25! my first test was aug 2025 and scored a 19, second test was jan 2026, and last attempt was this month! as you can see i delayed my exam a lot because of my built up anxiety and stress. i'd study almost everyday some days were productive and some weren't. i kept waiting for that feeling of being ready and feeling confident, but tbh you're never gonna get to that feeling cuz you'll never know the outcome.

so my first attempt i only read inman, everyday for months i only read, didnt take my own notes, didn't do practice questions. i went in to this exam kinda thinking of it as my practice test since i clearly never studied or was exposed to how the exam would be like. my second attempt i only read the all access book front to back, very tedious book and extremely long, but i feel like this gave me a strong base foundation of information i needed to know. i took notes on the entire book, also looked at some of their powerpoints! but still i was not doing practice questions or really doing active recall, i was just taking notes and rereading them to fully. i will say reading these notes did help me a lot but i dont think its enough to pass.

my third attempt my anxiety was through the roof, i thought my last two attempts were bad, but this time i was so scared of the feeling of knowing i might fail again i just kept thinking negatively because i couldn't get myself to have a positive mindset because ive been delaying this for so long. my third attempt i did every single pocket prep question and took notes on anything i fee like i was lacking knowledge in, of course took notes on the ones i got wrong. i can't remember my mock scores but when i first tooo all three i was getting 65-75% and then id retake them 1-2 months later and would get 80-90% (again i was studying my notes from pocket prep a lot so part of the reason i may have gotten a higher score was because i probably had remembered what the right answer was. i also ended up buying eat right prep. did all the pre test and practice tests and simulated tests. took notes and studied those.

there are so many topics you need to study for the exam but i think as long as you know the surface level information and you're able to get from one point to the another this will help you.

pocket prep questions were def written more detailed and harder and had a lot more filler information in their questions. erp was written more easier for sure but i believe the format and style of how erp questions were written, is very similar to the exam. i know many people have different views though.

now for the exam, i cried for hours leading up to my date. literally just balling my eyes out. i got to my exam center about 45 min earlier just for my peace of mind and to also cry there so im not late lol. when i went to the exam room they did all the scans and then handed me those papers to read and i just sat there for 10 minutes just trying to gather myself and practice deep breathing and clear my head. i didnt do that my second attempt and i think because of all that built up anxiety and stress and depression, it played a big role when i was taking the exam. i entered 10 minutes past my exam date (don't do this cuz she looked at me weird and i was like oops are they not gonna let me take it lol).

tips:

- please get pocket prep. exposing yourself to practice questions not only helps you test your own knowledge, but also it allows you to just get used to reading and figuring out HOW you're supposed to read a question. i was against doing practice questions for the longest, i didn't wanna do them i didn't feel like it'd help. i never studied in college so studying was all new to me for this exam so it was hard trying to find a right schedule and method for me. did lots of trials and errors

- eat right prep is a good resource to test your knowledge as well. especially cuz pocket prep can get a bit boring and random. i would also recommend getting this, if you're able to purchase it with someone else, honestly do so! it's an expensive resource but i split it and felt better knowing i didn't just drop almost 300 dollars lol

- im not a podcast fan never have been. i know this helps a lot of people. i only maybe listened to 10 max on topics i really needed help with. but if this is your style honestly go for it becuase teaching yourself all this material can be draining and you just need someone to do it for you

- learn to do process of elimination: if it wasn't for this, i honestly do not think id pass. my first two attempts i finished at 125 questions and was done within an hour and 45 min. my third attempt, i read every single question like 5 times and slowly and would write down abcd on my white board and just think on paper for ex id write D no bc high fiber bad for gastric. like just writing my thoughts. when id start eliminating, id eliminate an answer choice and then ask myself ok why am i eliminating this. don't rush and pick and answer and go with your gut that way. just take your time reading each question i cannot stress this enough! and coming from someone who again am not a good test taker and literally never ever studied or cared enough,. please read!

(side note: at that point i had done so many practice questions and reading of notes i was so horrible burnt out and drained, i didn't do practice questions for 3 weeks before my exam cuz i physically could not read

anymore without knowing what it was saying)

if you're someone struggling with this exam i promise you are not alone. there's alot of people i've talked to who never expressed their struggles or stress for this exam. i promise there's tons of us who have had horrible mental breakdowns! if you want more advice on the questions or resources please message me im more than happy to help!

i'll make a separate post as well but im also selling all my resources if anyone is interested.

- all access book (i have just the book and some powerpoints and the book isn't a physical copy, its pdf)

- jean inman (audios and notes)

- ear right prep: i believe i have access until october 1! (i think it's def doable to go through all practice tests and sim tests within the time frame) once its expired i had recorded the questions on my phone in case i didn't pass id still have the questions available to me.)

- rd one and done handouts: this is i believe 194 pages worth of infographics for many topics from each domain. i used this as well while studying just to be more exposed and also review stuff

- i have a few other infographics available too from other resources that i wont say on here cuz dont wanna get in trouble haha but can also offer those to you in addition to the rd one and done handouts

please reach out anytime! i was trying not to make this post very long and still have lots of say so reach out personally if needed and ill give all the help you need!

thoughts of rd bootcamp

what r ur thoughts on the rd bootcamp practices test questions? are they close to the real exam? they're different from pocket prep for sure and it seems like it's more closely related to the exam but i took the practice tests and felt so dumb cuz i thought i knew a lot by doing pocket prep and eat right prep, and just be studying too but seeing new questions made me question everything

exam fail reasoning

For those who passed on their second + attempts or those who are still studying, what do you feel like were your weak spots going into the exam? was it not understandable or grasping your notes and the material, was it not knowing the basics and not able to connect the dots, was it your ability to read the question and understand it? my first few attempts i didn't do many practice questions so i wasn't familiar with how to read the questions so im hoping now that ive been exposed to over 1000 questions i may grasp it better. i also don't know if im fully ready and capable and confident to say that i know my material. i know things by looking at the answer choices but there's some areas where i can only explain it by reading the answer choices, not by heart.

Eat right prep comparison to real exam

for anyone who's took the practice tests and/or simulated ed exams on eat right prep - is the wording and questions really that similar to the exam? i cant remember much of my exam questions, all i remember is that i wasn't understanding any of the questions when i was taking it, but when i took the practice exam and simulated ones, the questions were daily easier to understand what they were asking and wasn't as situational as what i saw on the real exam.

EBT card swipe cs chip

i've had my ebt card for a long time now and everytime i'm checking out i insert my card and it says error and then i swipe an it says error and i have to keep doing this back and forth like 10 times before it accepts my card. does anyone else have this issue? it's not a balance issue and there's no scratches on my card. it just doesn't accept the first time so i'm just standing there for minutes waiting for my card to be accepted.

Rd exam date coming up + practice tests

Do you think it's okay to retake the mock exams and practice tests on pocket prep and eat right prep? i've retaken them a few times about 1 month apart from each other but idk if that's a good base for me to decide if im ready for the exam because of course you see the question once and you start to remember the answers. i'm having a hard time figuring out if i should push back my date or not. idk how many more practice tests i can take for me to feel good.

Taking my exam in one month

Taking my exam next month. i took it twice already and scored 19 (aug 2025), and 20(jan 2026). i've used inman in past but didnt like it. i used the all access pdf book to write all my notes and then currently using pocket prep and eat right prep to do practice questions and also am taking notes on all the questions im getting right and wrong and studying those as well. my mock exams practice tests and simulated tests are ranging from 70-85% avg and i do retake them after a few weeeks in which the score increases. Idk im having so many seconds thought cuz am i over studying? i dont even know if im ready i never fully feel confident whenever i take practice tests. i'm confused on how others have used the same materials to study and pass within a month of studying and ive been studying for a long time. i've been exposed to many questions and have a great idea of how the questions will be like on the real exam but idk im not feeling confident no matter how much i study. Does anyone have any tips on pocket prep and eat right prep?

How are people passing this exam when they study for 3 weeks to 2 months and then there's other who've been studying for much longer?

Please explain this to me because someone in my cohort passed and only studied for one month. And i've been studying for 2 years. Am i doing something wrong? There's no way people could have learned everything that i'm actively learning still in a few weeks.
