Why did the Germans abandon their positions on the Eastern Front shortly after the armistice in 1918?
I know the Freikorps were involved in the Baltics shortly afterwards, but I'm mainly wondering about Belarus, Ukraine and Poland and if Germany could have kept their control over these territories.
