Black Sails is an incredible show!

I just finished the last episode! I haven't enjoyed a show like this for a very long time.

Incredible plot, Incredible acting, Incredible character development. And what is more important than any of that is that they stuck the landing. The show wrapped up perfectly.

Players who played bad in Summer League but ended up being good NBA players?

For me I don't really get hyped by summer league highlights but I get really concerned when some players don't show anything at all. I wasn't following the draft back then but when I saw Johnny Davis I was in awe of how bad he was and had zero hope for him.

So do you guys remember anyone who looked bad in Summer League then panned out eventually?

Can someone explain to me what the Lakers are doing?

Are they actually that stupid or is there an angle I am not seeing?

Which returner do you think will improve the most?

I think we can get Derrick Jones Jr for a reasonable price

He fills a much needed role for us. Good help defender and OK shooter with some playoffs experience.

He gets paid less than Joe and his contract ends next summer.

How high would Ebuka go at draft night?

I understand the physical limitations but he is by far my most favorite prospect.

He is usually mocked in the 20s but I wonder would he crack the lottery or even the top 10?

What are the concerns about Hannes Steinbach's game?

Didn't watch a full game of him just highlights. He looks really good in them since they are highlights so here I am asking the people who actually watch games what are the concerns about his game

We shouldn't make changes just because we lost WCF in 7 games. We should make changes to fix our obvious flaws that we had even during our championship run

Disclaimer: I have never played basketball and only started watching the NBA in 2020 so obviously my takes are casual but again this is reddit and anyone can say anything. Also I am not native English speaker and I don't like AI so forgive the spelling and grammar mistakes.

- We "could" have won the WCF if we had some luck with injuries or some bone headed plays in games 1 and 7 and we "can" beat the Knicks but that doesn't change that we have very obvious flaws that need addressing. We weren't dominant in our championship run and things could have gone bad for us last year as well.

- You cannot make changes to "stop" a certain team or certain player. Players like Jokic, Luka, Wemby, Giannis... etc will always get their numbers but the good thing is a team sport you can easily absorb a superstar performance and still win. Mara is a great prospect and I don't mind drafting him even if he isn't my first choice but drafting him to be a "Wemby stopper" is a stupid concept.

- Our offense is bad. We let Shai be trapped with 2 players completely alone under the assumption that he beats the double team and we have open players. That is not sustainable and we are not even a good shooting team to keep depending on this method. We need to do more screens on the perimeter and even in the paint. This is a coaching flaw.

- Hartenstien is a good passer and decent screener but he keeps roaming around the perimeter looking for someone to pass to and opposing teams are 100% sure that he will never drive or shoot. That limits our offense a lot while we are running this kind of playa. Hartenstien needs to be more in the paint to screen for drivers and give them another passing option. Also it will keep rim protectors like Wemby to stick to the paint instead of covering the entire area inside the 3p.

t line freely. This is both a coaching and Hartenstien flaw.

- Shai and Dub ( When he was healthy ) production when together on the floor is less than the sum of what they can do individually. It feels like one possession is a Shai possession and Dub goes to stand in the corner and the next possession is Dub's to take the ball and tries to YOLO his way to the rim. An actual collaboration between 2 massive talents like them is a very rare occasion. This is a coaching flaw

- We need a postup center. We are completely lacking in this department. Sorber looks like he can fill this role but I wouldn't put all my hopes in a rookie who didn't play for 1.5 years.

- We lack size at the wing but I think Sam will finally address this issue in the draft. There are at least 5 decent wings available in our drafting range.

- We are a bad shooting team. Our only good shooter is McCain and he wasn't even that efficient in the playoffs but he still provided because he is a well rounded offensive player and his confidence is high. We need to add more shooters.

- Chet did not improve at all since his Rookie year. He is the same player. I don't know if NBA teams have authority to tell the players what to do during summer but if we have this authority we can't let him spend summer smoking weed and play with that loser KD. I don't care about his weight but he needs to improve his stamina, speed and release.

- Dort is my second favorite player on the team after Shai but I think he is gonna leave because of salaries. I hope his starting spot gets filled by a wing with a decent size.

- Wiggins before the massive drop in his production mid season was a well rounded offensive player as well. Not as good as McCain but he is better on defense. I would take a chance on him to fix whatever is wrong with him this summer and return to his old self. It's not normal for a player in his mid 20s to fall off like this.

- Joe needs to go. Undersized fake 2 months of regular season shooter and the only consistent thing about him is disappearing in the playoffs.

- Jwill had a perfect season. I wouldn't ask anything more from him at his current salary. I actually believe he will spend his whole career with us.

- Kenrich is the best 15th player in the league. He is even better than any 10th+ player in the league. He costs us almost nothing and should be more valuable to us than Joe when we do cuts to the roster to make space for our new rookies.

- Topic is a unique player and deserves a healthy season with us to see what he can do in normal rotation not in garbage time.

- My favorite prospects in our range are Yaxel, Morez, Cameron Carr, Jayden Quaintanc, Hannes Steinbach.

- For 2nd round pick I would love to take a chance on one of Baba Miller or Trevone Brazile.

Despite what I said above we are the least flawed team in the league and we will win next year.

Being on the front line or being the first to climb a ladder looks extremely scary

I do understand that we live in a way softer era than the manga's but these situations meant certain death I wonder what motivated people to discard their lives easily like this back in the day.

I get it for when you are protecting yourself and your city but as an invader it doesn't make sense to me at all

I think the McCain trade was actually fair

First of all I don't think Sam tries to fleece teams. Most of the trades he made recently made perfect sense for both teams at the time.

We needed more depth and shooting which made McCain perfect for us off the bench but he will never start under normal circumstances

Sixers on the other hand need 3 starters and their only good healthy players are Tyres and VJ and McCain can't replace them in the starting lineup.

In this great draft class the 22nd pick can actually land them a starter. Not an all star starter but a Tobias Harres level starter that they wouldn't be able to get for McCain in a trade.

Yes they can still make a bad pick but at least they have the opportunity to pick.

What made this trade look worse is Morey's stupid sold high comment.
