Ready for a sequel
Let’s all face it, the graphics are dated, the physics are dated, the AI crap is like putting lipstick on a dying corpse. I want a next gen game.
Do you give your employees a yearly 2-3% raise for inflation?
My current HR just gave me a 2% raise and I was a little miffed that it doesn’t even equal the inflation rate
Have the devs completely stopped making endgame content?
Tel Deadras has been killed 900,000 times. How is it that they don’t add anymore between then and now? Are they actively trying to tank their own game? Why hasn’t the spring update been officially postponed til October? All you see on the discord is hey we are working on level 20 content again and wiping for the 6th time on the PTR. Masteries are gonna introduce so many bugs that they’ll have to reboot another 6 times
Thoughts from beta
Currently level 52. Having fun with the closed beta. Took a break last week and a lot of my level 49 to 53 friends have moved onto 58+ and I’m a little put off to even catch up.
At endgame the raids have a big spawn window, so attending consistently is impossible. The last 5 raids we have had are between 1am-8am. I don’t think the endgame systems are very much to look forward to. In hindsight, I was in a rush to get to 50+ but now that I’m here I miss the journey to 50 quite a lot.
I’m not an alt player tho, and frankly don’t have the desire to invest another 300 hours into the game.
I think now that I can step back and evaluate if this is the type of game I can call home long term at launch, I’m left with an overwhelming sense of ‘meh, played it already’
As someone who played Pantheon and had a similar experience at endgame, my only advice for the devs is to not abandon your higher level player base like pantheon did. Panth still has only 1 raid and it’s boring as hell, there’s literally nothing to do.
I didn’t have a direct topic to discuss when writing this just kinda going off my gut- but I’m worried they the endgame is not only unappealing, but unapproachable due to the spawn timers. These types of games rely on moving goalposts (see EverQuest expansions list, or WoWs) and I’m hoping that the monsters team can continue to expand the world at a pace that keeps up with player appetite.
Do I have faith they can? Yes. But I’m skeptic if this is a forever type game of just a good 3 months
