Pre-made teams for casual play?

Hey, really enjoying painting and have played a few games but haven't really delved into the whole point aspect of the game. Me and my wife would like to play some quick casual games.

Are there any pre-made unit lists that could be a good starting point?

We have the recon edition, feet first into hell, UNSC marines, noble team, Cerberus, grizzly and Master Chief

Thanks!

Our minis so far

The models we've painted so far, quite happy with how a bunch of these turned out. Others are a little rougher, gungnir still needs highlights after a nuln oil wash.

Any feedback or tips?

Do you varnish models?

I see a lot of really cool models on this sub, I'm quite new to all this minifig painting stuff so was wondering how common varnishing is.

I'm really not a fan of the super glossy stuff, I see some really cool matte looking elites here, is that down to the kind of paint or the varnish?

Any other tips on painting in general would be appreciated!

Clip Vector points to ruler

https://preview.redd.it/mfg609hm1ebh1.png?width=2167&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6814442b23d3b987f0b7cdfe2df7561286ec3e1

I'm working on some text using vector points, i'd like to clip the bottom 2 points to the same Y axis so that the bottom of the letter is straight. How do i do this? I've tried adding a special ruler, enabled clip options in the top tool bar but when i try to move the control points nothing clips. Is there a better way? could i just select all bottom points and clip them to a y value?

Do bundles on mantic generally sell out?

I'm new to this but enjoying painting up my sets, I'd be keen on getting the new UNSC bundle (even though it seems slightly more expensive to buy it directly) but it says it shops on the 4th September.

I'll be around pretty much all of September so delivery wouldn't work but I wouldn't want to miss out on the bundle after release. Is this something mantic usually do and if so how long does stock usually last after release?

Should I get war games?

New to this, got the recon edition as a gift and I've heard war games make it so much better but also seen that the rules are getting merged into the main set. Is there a point in getting war games now or should I just wait.

Also any other sets that are recommended to get to go with the recon set?

Thanks!

Paints that are similar to the official Flashpoint paint set?

Hey,

Quite new to miniature painting but i bought the "Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000: Paints + Tools Set" off amazon as it seemed to be a good starting point.

I think the Mephiston red and Maccragge blue are quite similar to the standard red and blue colours but can anyone recommend some additional paints that i should look at? I'm quite close to a warhammer store so that seems the most convinient, obviously aware they wont be 1-1 but just looking for something that will come across quite similar as the flashpoint set is currently sold out.

Also any recommendations on primers would be appreciated too!

Thanks!

Just visiting Korea and happened to be in Seoul during the Pokémon go stamp event in which they were meant to be giving out promos.

We went this morning expecting some crowds but this was absolute carnage. They had police deployed and people screaming. By the time we got there they had already stopped giving out cards and the event has now been fully cancelled for safety reasons.

Clown behaviour over some cardboard to be honest.
