Decorating my biggest T enclosure yet! :D

Proud of this one :-) Ingredients: Terra Curve L enclosure from Tarantula Cribs (18x14x14), 36 QTs of the Bio Dude Terra Aranea substrate, baked cork bark, mahogany leaves, bendable moss rope, spider wood (sharp edges of spider wood sanded then coated in three layers of Duraclear varnish to make it mold resistant), sanded aquarium structure (also to remove sharp edges), everything following thoroughly washed: dried sphagnum moss from a brick, fake leaves, thin layer of pebbles at just the front of the enclosure for aesthetic (and bc my xenesthis intermedia has never burrowed), and aquarium hidey hole for exploration and enrichment ✨ ugh, I would kill to do this for a living!!!

Also if you have substrate depth/fall concerns, please note: my x intermedia is the definition of terrestrial- no burrowing or climbing since we’ve been together through many molts and enclosure upgrades. I didn’t think 36QTs of substrate (being $90 on top of a $300 enclosure) would get eaten up so quickly in here 😅 was at the end of my spending limit already and had prior hoped to fill other enclosures with leftover substrate.. not the case. I don’t fear for climbing/falling to be an issue! However, I’ll keep a close eye and put my nighttime cam on Sylvanas to ensure this is a completely safe place to thrive!!

Welcome home, sassy sister ✨

Orpheus is loving her new hidey hole and it’s too precious not to share!!! Also I apparently timed things perfectly to get her in the “to go” capture cup so it’s her first time not flicking a bunch of hairs at me, despite ensuring that she wanted to 🥰 my grumpy x immanis, everyone!

When you measured it all out but you’re filled with sudden horror at the sheer mass

When the postman and I could likely each fit into both the boxes for the Terra curve Ls I just received.. I mean… damn. 😅 Thanks (again, and again, and over again) T Cribs! I’m aching to decorate them for my x immanis and x intermedia!! Time to play jenga in my room yet again for my eight legged kiddos!

New kids, who are they??

Two succulents I just bought at my local Saturday market- first two pics I am baffled and can’t figure it out online. Seller didn’t know.

Last two pics she told me is a lambs ear… didn’t think so when buying, but it’s super cute! More research makes me think Kalanchoe millotii- but I’m not an expert!!

Any help identifying these fuzzy lil fellas is super appreciated! Tysm!!

Help!! Caring for mini baby??

New here! I keep arachnids and feel I could care for this guy- I have feeders and small enclosures and everything to fill them. I JUST bought a couple plants at my local Saturday market (I live in Oregon) got home and this guy crawled out. Seems to be solo, and is sooo small (hand for reference).

Looking into local species here (though depending on this plant seller and where they purchase from, it may not have originated in Oregon at all) but little one is bright red and appears to have 13 pairs of legs. It’s so small, it doesn’t seem he should’ve been separated from mom yet at this size- but I’m going off ~5 mins of research.

Is it too small to care for? Is keeping responsible? I don’t want to release a non native species- any identification ideas? Enclosure size? I’ll look up more rn but wanted to post quickly since I know he needs moisture in soil.

Thank you in advance for any help/insight!

First time I’ve (sort of) seen my Cilantica psychedelicus this year!!!

vid almost needs to be slowed down because his tip taps out of his hole are nearly too fast to comprehend. Here’s Chalice frantically try to capture this cricket without leaving the burrow, what a special one!! Real talk- does anyone ever see their psychedelic earth tigers??

Sylvanas doubled in size last molt.. enclosure size advice???

I bought and decorated this enclosure for her and put her in a while before she molted. Is this even acceptable or far too small?? Did not expect a complete double in size from my x intermedia. I also have a xenesthis immanis who is one molt behind becoming this large as well. I want them both to be comfy… this is my first time seeing her full sploot post molt and now I’m absolutely questioning my judgement on what I thought would be an okay size for the time being 🥲 tysm in advance

Pretty Patch out during the day?! 😻

Sauin has grown so much since I got him over 7mo ago in October!! (Also if anyone is concerned, there aren’t rocks in the back and he has ample space to burrow, which is part of why it’s so shocking to see him leave the burrow in broad daylight!!!)

How do you take out and clean your scary OW water dishes without being slain???

I have an absurd amount of Ts, OW and NW, but my other OWs are all significantly smaller!! I can easily use tweezers to grab their drinking bowls and clean them every couple days, and none of them want to harm me, most just hide or freeze. This fella, however, runs at me fangs beared and throws threat poses every time I touch the enclosure, god forbid I open the lid to feed or mist. I’ve never been afraid of spiders, but Fenrir strikes fear into my heart every time we have to interact. 😅 with all my smaller or more docile Ts, water changes aren’t an issue. Fenrir has a much larger/deeper water dish though, and always bolts to the opening when I attempt to provide any maintenance. Unless I somehow open the lid partially and create a barrier to put between us, I’m not sure how to go about it.

What do others do with large aggressive Ts? Am I being extra for wanting to provide fresh water? How often do others chance their larger Ts water? Thank you so much for any insight!!

Opulence had her first molt with me after 4mo!!

My bitty darling Typhochlaena Seladonia (Brazilian Jewel) finally got her first post molt meal with me and wanted to come out of her trapdoor burrow for it- even voluntarily crawled onto my finger after opening her lil enclosure to feed and parade that fruit fly all around 🥹 As always- sorry for the shaky hand cam!

Angel wing begonia assistance desperately needed! Posted on the houseplants sub and followed advice of getting her into a terrarium where I kept humidity up.. Upon first getting it, leaves became crispy and I’m afraid I overwatered to compensate, contributing to some yellowing on the tips. I let it dry out a bit, put in an enclosure where I kept humidity up, and it looks worse than ever. 😭 my dear friend gifted me this start that was rooting, and I’d be so sad for her to find that I killed it.. I am new to indoor plants (which I’d love to get better at) and I have no idea where to go from here :-(

Thanks for all the Kiro love in my last post! He got his first collar today (needed a bell to not get lost) and has since befriended all three of his siblings who so desperately wanted to meet him ♥️ so proud of this crab walking ball of energy!
